Eunbi walks to the funeral center with such a heavy heart, disbelief,  and regrets. She stops her self to observe what’s around her. She sees some familiar faces that she doesn’t even remember where they met and she sighs heavily as she continues walking to get to the altar. Her legs stop moving right away when she sees her ex-wife, Kim Sojung cries while bowing to the people around who had visited the funeral house.

Eunbi is stoned over there watching the scene in her eyes. Sojung looks miserable. Sojung’s puffy eyes are so visible, she looks much older than her age, her hair is messy, and the one thing that Eunbi can’t just ignore is how fragile she is right now. Eunbi tightens her grip of her sling-bag while looking at Sojung. Eunbi is about to turn around but her legs stop her from doing so. This is not about her and her ex-wife. She’s here to pay respect to the woman who used to be her mother-in-law. She blinks for a few times thinking if there's a way to avoid but heck she couldn’t avoid Sojung anyway. Eunbi is about to take a step forward but she stops when her eyes meet Sojung’s. Yes. Sojung is now looking at Eunbi with those terrible eyes looking pathetic. Sojung is partly shocked, why is her ex-wife is doing right here? Sojung insults her self internally, realizing how stupid the question is. Is there anything else to do besides paying respect to the deceased in the funeral center? Sojung wonders who told Eunbi about this.

Eunbi takes a step forward, walking towards where Sojung stands while their eyes locked to each other. Sojung looks down avoiding Eunbi’s eyes when Eunbi is standing in front of her. Eunbi pats Sojung’s shoulder and she says, “She’s in a better place.” which Sojung agrees on as she nods at the remark.

Eunbi begins to walk towards the altar to pay her respect, leaving Sojung behind. She couldn’t help but cry, as she steps into the altar, she remembers everything her mother-in-law did for her. Their relationship is not like the others. They had been close since she began dating Sojung. Her tears begin to fall repeatedly and regrets are there. She never made time for her after the divorce. She should have checked on her once a while. Eunbi places a white lily into the altar and bows to her. She wipes her tears off her cheek while leaving the altar and before she could leave,  some of Sojung’s relatives approach her and asks her tons of questions - possibly just being friendly. They never changed, not at all. They’re still nice even when she’s no longer part of the family. She bows to everyone initiating that she wants to leave the place. Eunbi leaves the room and without any expectation, Sojung is waiting for her nearby the main entrance. Eunbi places her hand in her coat's pocket looking directly into Sojung's eyes.

“Thank you for coming."

Eunbi nods and bows to Sojung, "I'll be going then."

"Wait!" shouts Sojung which getting Eunbi looking at her one more time. “We haven't been in contact in a few years. Do you want to grab a cup of coffee before you leave?"

Eunbi can't believe Sojung dares to ask her to grab a cup of coffee when the latter didn't even tell her that her mom passed away. Eunbi heard this through a mutual friend, Choi Yuna. How dare Sojung ask for her time? Eunbi decides to just let it go, a woman just lost her mom. There is no need to be a about it. Eunbi nods again at the latter. They both find themselves in the cafeteria inside, sitting across each other which giving them a familiar situation. The last time they did, they ended their marriage. Sojung rubbed her fingers against the cup while Eunbi is calmly sipping her coffee. Eunbi observes Sojung's face one more time, she couldn't help but feel sorry. Eunbi knows that Sojung will not say anything despite the invitation. Eunbi knew her ex-wife too much and instead of wasting time, she wouldn't mind starting a conversation at this point.

"Why didn't you tell me she passed away?"

Just as Eunbi expected, Sojung doesn't open and it will never change. "She was just like my mother." continues Eunbi.

Sojung still keeps her silence and she looks at Eunbi and she says, "After we get separated, you never made time for her. I thought you didn't want to have anything with us..."

Eunbi is taken aback. She can't demand Sojung to tell her when she was the one who didn't make time for her ex-mother-in-law at all. Sojung is right, part of Eunbi didn't want to do anything with Sojung and her families because she needed this to move on. If she could turn back the time, she would pay attention to Mrs. Kim and buries her ego. The wave of regrets washes Eunbi hard

Chapter 2: Man. I mean I love wonha but like ngl, I’m happy that Eunha got her resolution in the end? Trust is not easily gained. Sad reality. For some people it just never works out. That’s not always a bad thing I think. It’s just... a new beginning. They both deserve that. Doesn’t mean it didn’t hurt though. I enjoyed reading this! You have my upvote :D
