Sealed Fate

A Favor for a Favor

A/N: So sorry for the egregiously long wait guys, I like writing meaty chapters but it means it takes a lot longer for them to come out. Life's been taking up too much of my time... *^* Please enjoy nonetheless!

"You really are determined. I'll give you that. How did you even find me?" The singer's voice broke the silence and tension that hung between the two girls. Sana crossed her arms and leaned against the doorframe, her eyes continually glaring at the girl on her porch.

"This is my house. Why are you here?" Tzuyu raised her own question with a tired expression. Seeing Sana again dredged back all of the memories and annoyance that came from the flight. Coupled with her current state of homelessness, she was just too exasperated to really care about the singer's anger towards her.

"You mean my house you crazy stalker?"

Tzuyu rolled her eyes at the correction. "No. I'm not a stalker and I have a name. It's Tzuyu, and really this is all a big misunderstandi-"

Sana cut the younger girl off. "I didn't ask."

The blonde let her eyes wander over the girl in front of her. Now that she finally was able to get a good look at her, plane stranger was quite the looker. Her eyes roved up and down the tall, raven-haired girl on her doorstep,  her lips with a grin as her eyes wandered imprudently.

Red at the obscene leering, Tzuyu did her best to cover herself by crossing her arms. She hated that satisfied smirk and though she wished to wipe the grin off of that stupid blonde with another slap, she had to be civil. It wouldn't do her any good to be aggressive when she was the one asking for help.

She took a deep breath, "Please, I really need your help right now. This is my house and I wasn't intending for it to be sold. You bought it from some, now ex-friends, who swindled me." Tzuyu fiddled with her hands, feeling timid with her attempt at guilt-tripping.

Sana's face was blank. "Sounds like you have ty friends."

Tzuyu pursed her lips. Of course that's all Sana had to say, she didn't know why she expected anything else.

"My friends aren't all bad. We've had our moments." Tzuyu didn't understand why they had conned her like this, but she couldn't help but feel some sort of obligation to defend them. After all, they were her family.

Sana slowly observed Tzuyu. Taking in the apparent distress of the girl in front of her --who was now rubbing her temples in a vain attempt to alleviate some of her stress-- Sana felt her defenses crack. She wasn't someone who normally pitied others (years of being in such a competitive industry had taught her being soft meant being taken advantage of) but something about the defeat in the girl in front of her resonated with Sana.

"Well, you should call the police. Sue them or something. They deserve to go to jail for stealing your house like this." she offered sympathetically.

Giving a weak smile, Tzuyu ran a hand through her hair. "That's the thing. I don't know if I want them to go to jail. I can't bring myself to do anything." Her voice tapered away at her confession. She felt small in the moment, airing her internal conflicts out to what was a basically a complete stranger. Yet what choice did she have? It was either get Sana on her side, or lose her home. Her headache worsened at the thought.

Sana continued to lean against the doorframe, observing the confliction grow on Tzuyu's face. Though the singer could be brash at times, she wasn't a monster. She knows how it feels to be sad and frustrated.

She spoke gently to reassure the girl in front of her. "Well they certainly don't seem like your friends. You can't just let them off the hook like that."

Tzuyu choked up. She knew Sana had a point. Tzuyu was scammed and her house was stolen. But Nayeon and Jeongyeon were her friends. Her family. In a new country scared and alone, they were always there for her, supporting her through every job, failed audition, and even comforting her when she left Elkie.

"I- I just want my house back...Will you at least let me buy it back from you?" Tzuyu asked shakily.

Seeing the tears well up in the younger girl's eyes, Sana thought to comfort her, but she quickly decided against it. They had only really just met, but something about those soft, brown eyes almost made Sana want to help. In reality, there was no reason she should sell the house back or even care that Tzuyu had gotten swindled or not. The younger girl was just dealt a bad hand. What did Sana have to do with that?  Yet, watching some poor girl flounder on her porch for help... it didn't sit right with her. It was like watching that commercial of sad, mopey dogs without a home with "In the Arms of an Angel" playing in the background.

"Well do you at least have the money so we can just get this whole thing over with?" Sana cursed herself for being such a softie.

Tzuyu's face flushed. "N-no... I don't have the money yet but-"

Sana's initial shock gave way to irritation. Shouldn't she know by now that if you give people the chance, they'll walk all over you? She couldn't believe she almost fell for that weak, pleading look. The girl didn't even have the money and she had the gall to ask for her house back like this!

"Forget it. No deal then." All annoyance had returned to the blonde's tone.

"Wait, Sana hold on please." Tzuyu begged, "My father gave me this house, I can't just give up on it."

"So let me get this straight. You want to buy back a house you don't even have the money for? Do you even have a job?" Sana asked incredulously.

Tzuyu's brow furrowed. "Of course I have a job! I-I teach at a dance studio, but-"

Sana scoffed. "I hope you didn't expect to waltz up here, grovel with your puppy dog look, and expect for me to just hand over your house for free."

Tzuyu shook her head. "Of course not! I was going to pay you back ...eventually."

Pinching the bridge of her nose, Sana sighed. "Listen Tzuyu, I'm sorry your house got sold without your consent like this. I feel you, I really do, but it's not really any of my business. I like this house, and I want to stay here. So I'm sorry, but you're going to have to find somewhere else to go."

"Sana wait plea-!"

Tzuyu's words were cut off by the door closing in her face.

---

When Sana opened the door this morning to go out for brunch, she was surprised to find some sort of lump lying at her doorstep. If anything, the lump almost looked like a perso-

"Tz-Tzuyu!?" Sana gasped at the realization. She poked the younger girl with her foot. "Oh my god did you sleep here last night!"

There was no response from the girl below her and for a brief moment, Sana worried she was dead. "H-hey, Tzuyu!"

She knelt down next to her. There was no way Sana could have known that Tzuyu was going to sleep on her porch last night, but that didn't stop her from feeling every bit as guilty.

Examing the pretty girl beside her, Sana placed a hand on the other girl's cheek. She was burning up.

The singer shook her slightly. "Hey Tzuyu, please wake up. I think you might be sick. Just come inside so I can help." Still eliciting no response besides a small whimper, Sana took a deep breath. She knew Tzuyu would need to be carried inside but with Tzuyu being so much taller, carrying her would most certainly be a struggle. Brunch would have to wait.

---

Sana wasn't great at tending to the sick. There was no time to learn how. She was only fifteen when she became a trainee at the expense of her father's dream for her to become a doctor instead. He himself was a renowned cardiothoracic surgeon, so naturally, he wasn't so thrilled about the whole K-pop idol thing. What was so bad about following in your father's footsteps? His rants about her careless dreams and meaningless career always led to nasty arguments between the two of them. It was two years ago that they had their worst argument yet that sent Sana over the edge. She hadn't talked to him since.

Now, as Sana looked over the very sick girl in front of her, she wished she at least listened more when he would talk about his patients.

Tzuyu was now sleeping silently on the couch, her chest rising and falling softly with every soft breath she took. Though she had stopped groaning in pain, Sana could still feel how sick she was, her forehead warm to the touch. The blonde sighed, sweeping a stray lock of black hair off of the girl's face. She would have been clueless as to how to help, but a quick call to her mom gave her everything she needed. Despite what her father thought, the rest of Sana's family, including her mother, were very supportive of her. Whenever she got the chance to call, her mom and her grandmother would always buzz excitedly about Twice's last comeback or concert, which never failed to bring a smile to Sana's face. She didn't need her Dad. Or at least that's what she kept telling herself. Admittedly, sometimes she couldn't stop herself from missing him.

Kneeling next to the couch, Sana dipped a small towel in a basin of lukewarm water and alcohol. Gently, she dabbed it against Tzuyu's face, thankful she was able to wake the younger girl up long enough for her to take some paracetamol. She sighed again before dipping the towel back into the basin and repeating the process again.

---

Tzuyu's eyes fluttered open silently, a ray of light from a nearby window washing over her face. She blinked a few times before closing her eyes again and taking a deep breath, still feeling tired despite sleeping for so long. For a few seconds, she remained like that, sinking into the couch before abruptly shooting upright, her eyes slowly widening. When did she come inside and take refuge on the couch? All Tzuyu could remember was arguing with Sana and sleeping on the porch. Silently, she slid off the sofa and crept towards the front door. This wasn't her house anymore, and it was in her best interest to leave before the owner took notice. As she leaned down to grab her shoes, a voice from behind made her freeze.

"Going somewhere?"

She recognized the voice without even looking. Turning around, Tzuyu her lips nervously. She could only imagine the reaction the voice would have at discovering her, the unwanted visitor. Sure enough, there at the kitchen island was Sana, cutting into her plate of pancakes. The younger girl remained frozen in place.

"At least have some breakfast before you run off. Your house was stolen, so it's not like you have anywhere else to go." The singer said expectantly with a smile, beckoning Tzuyu to join her.

Tzuyu struggled to speak. Was this really the same girl she had met before? Why was she being so kind? She distinctly remembered Sana telling her that Tzuyu losing her house was, "none of her business." Dumbfounded, she continued to do nothing but look on as the blonde spread butter on her toast.

Sana frowned in mock annoyance. "You know we've already talked about your staring issue. As flattering as it is, I'd really love a response instead."

Tzuyu felt the blush creep across her face. The blonde knew just how to push her buttons. Not wanting to keep the her waiting, she shuffled from the living area to the kitchen island.

Beaming at the younger girl, Sana gestured for her to sit down. "Come eat breakfast please."

It was odd to see Sana acting so ... domestic. As Tzuyu approached, she let go of a breath she didn't know she had been holding.

"...Why are you being like this?" The question slipped out involuntarily, and the younger girl cringed as she watched the smile on Sana's face falter.

"I can't be nice for no reason? Plus there's no way you're not hungry."

Feeling her stomach grumble, Tzuyu knew she was right. But she couldn't think of a reason to stay any longer than she had to. She needed to go find a job and most importantly a new place to stay. Then afterwards find where Nayeon and Jeongyeon went, beat the living daylights out of them, and hopefully get the money to buy the house back. There was just simply too much to do, and she didn't want to burden Sana any longer. The memories of this morning had since returned, and though she was grateful towards the blonde for taking care of her, she couldn't bring herself to encroach on the stranger's kindness any longer.

"Thank you but I think I should be going." Tzuyu gave a polite smile before turning to leave. "And thanks for taking care of me while I was sick. Sorry for all the trouble I caused."

She made her way to the door, but only got a few steps before a hand tugged on her's.

"Wait."

Turning around, the younger girl was surprised to see Sana, looking bashful, still clinging to her hand.

"You can stay."

Tzuyu's jaw dropped. "What?"

"There's an empty bedroom upstairs. It's yours. Only if you want it." Sana's heart hammered in her chest. Of course, there was no reason she should be feeling nervous, and yet here she was. She looked at the ground to hide the dust of pink that now covered her face.

Tzuyu grinned from ear to ear. She was admittedly confused by the girl's sudden change of heart, but she didn't dare question it just in case the blonde decided to change her mind. Normally, she wasn't so emotive, but she couldn't stop the smile on her face from widening. She said she could stay!

Sana suddenly shot her a tough look. "Don't think this is some kind of charity though." She pouted. "This is just till you get a job or find a new place. And you'll have to do all the chores like cooking and cleaning as payment for staying here."

Seeing that Sana's rant was done, Tzuyu continued her celebration. "Truly, thank you...", she said with a smile, enveloping the blonde in a gentle hug.  She could stay in her house for longer, and now she'd have the opportunity to get a job and maybe even make the money for the house back.

The blonde let the hug continue for a few seconds, a ghost of a smile spreading across her face. To be honest, she didn't know why she was offering to house the girl, but she had a feeling those soft, brown eyes like a puppy had something to do with it.

---

Momo smiled as Sana pulled the chair out for her to sit down.

"Very chivalrous, Satang! What's up with you today? First you invite me to a fancy dinner, then you open the door for me at the car, and now this? " Momo teased.

Sana squeaked out a laugh. It was taking all her power to hide how nervous she was.

"T-that? That's nothing. Trust me chivalry isn't dead!" She prayed Momo couldn't hear the tremble in her voice. Smiling, she took her own seat across from the brunette.

Momo glanced around the restaurant, puzzled. "There's like no one in here today.", she murmured absent-mindedly.

It seemed as though they were the only two people inside the restaurant besides the staff, but Momo decided not to think much of it. Instead, she turned her attention back to the blonde across from her.

"You? Chivalrous? Yeah right." She scoffed.

"I can be chivalrous you know. Just enjoy it while it lasts. " Sana commented, her eyes on the menu. She tried to maintain a straight face, but couldn't stop her smile from widening.

She skimmed through the menu, pretending to consider what she wanted. Of course, she had already previewed everything beforehand so she could make sure the evening was perfect.

Momo returned her smile. It was always a treat to have dinner with Sana, and if it weren't for their busy schedules, they'd probably eat out together all the time. Still, she was surprised when Sana suggested such an expensive place. Though, Momo would never turn down an offer for food, especially not the idea of a meal so lucrative.

"So what did you want to talk about?" Momo questioned, genuinely curious. The blonde briefly mentioned in passing that she had something she wanted to discuss over dinner, and after seeing the venue, Momo couldn't help but wonder what warranted such a fancy place.

Sana let out another nervous laugh. "Dessert, first. Questions, second." She shot Momo a cheeky grin.

The brunette could only roll her eyes at the comment and scan through the menu.

As Sana peeked over her own menu, she tried to calm her excitement at seeing the older brunette. Not only did Momo look stunning in her pink dress adorned with a black belt, the dinner was going perfectly thus far. The younger girl wrung her hands in her lap to calm herself down. This was it. She had finally decided to tell Momo how she felt over dinner and it was hard to calm down. She just wanted the evening to go well. To tell Momo she loved her and to hear if maybe, just maybe she felt the same. She knew that no matter what Momo's response was she would move out of the dorms, but a small part of her hoped Momo would go with her.

"Okay, Sana. What's with all these glances. You can't keep me waiting any longer just tell  me!"

Momo's voice snapped Sana back into reality.

"Well... I'm moving out of the dorms.", the blonde said shyly.

Momo reached across the table to put her hand onto Sana's "Aw, what you're gonna miss me? I'm not the one who decided to move out. Maybe I should have been sweeter to you before you decided to go." Smiling, she rubbed the back of her friend's hand supportively.

Sana her lips. She was nervous. Obviously. And the way Momo's thumb drew thoughtless circles on the back of her hand was definitely not helping her heart.

Before she could speak again, a waiter placed a bowl of ice cream on the table with a wink in Sana's direction.

Momo's eyes gravitated towards the sweets now in front of her. "Oh! Ice-cream!"

Giving a final squeeze to the younger girl's hand, she reached for her spoon, but before she could grab it, her phone rang. Flashing Sana an apologetic look, she fished her phone out of her bag.

Sana hated the way Momo's face lit up when she saw the caller ID. The blonde could only assume it was Mina.

She was right.

As she watched Momo giddily talk to Mina on the phone, she reached for the glass of wine in front of her. Of course, Sana was fuming. Why did Mina have to call now of all times? As Sana drank from her glass, her eyes remained fixated on the smile of the brunette sitting across from her, still absorbed in the call.

The sound of Momo's chair scraping against the ground pulled Sana from her thoughts.

"Sorry Sana, I have to go. It's Mina. She just landed back in Korea and she wants to go over some choreo. She's gonna pick me up and go to the dorm." Momo gathered her things and walked around the table to give the blonde a quick kiss on the cheek. Before she could turn to leave, Sana held her arm.

"Wait, Momoring. What about the ice cream? You never leave ice cream." Sana watched the older girl wistfully, her heart feeling heavy in her chest.

Momo's gaze softened. "I know Satang. I'm really am sorry about this. But I'll make it up to you next time though! I'll get us ice cream and we can eat it together on the couch of your new house!"

Sana could only watch as the girl she loved walked out of the restaurant. Turning back to the glass in her hand, the singer decided to drain the drink.

Then another.

Feeling the courage from the buzz of the alcohol inside her, she stood up. Fishing a ring out of the now melted bowl of ice cream left on the table, she walked out of the restaurant.

It was stupid. All of it. She was stupid to think that this could go smoothly. She was gripping the ring so hard, it was actually starting to hurt. All she wanted was to give Momo a gift and tell her how she felt. But of course Mina needs her now. Now of all times.

Opening the doors of the restaurant, Sana's flushed face was met with the cool outside wind. Barely phased, she strode toward the girl still waiting for her ride.

"Momo...", Sana croaked, reaching for the older girl's hand.

"Sana?" Momo turned around in surprise.

"Tell Mina to wait. Tell her you're with me right now." In one hand, Sana held the ring and in the other, she held Momo's hand. Her words were filled with a mix of emotions. Bitterness, love, sorrow. By now the alcohol was giving her a lot more than courage.

"Sana? Are you okay?" Concerned by her friend's state, Momo reached to touch her face, only to be shrugged off.

"Do you love her?" Sana's words were harsh, and she meant them to be. Taken aback by the change in her voice, Momo shrunk away.

"Why does it matter? Sana you don't know what you're sayin-"

"She doesn't love you like you love her!"

Even tipsy, Sana knew she wasn't supposed to say that. She clapped her hands over as her eyes widened.

"Momo... I'm so sorry I-"

"Just stop, Sana.", Momo sighed. She felt the tears build up in her eyes. Deep down she knew Sana was right. Mina didn't love her, and it hurt just hearing it. Why did Sana have to ruin her night like this? She wasn't in the mood for an argument.

Before Sana could say any more, Mina's black Mercedes pulled up to the curb. As Momo silently slid into the passenger seat of the car, Sana stormed back into the restaurant.

Momo stared silently at the dashboard, ignoring Mina's concerned stares.

"Are you okay Momo? Did something happen with Sana?", Mina slid her hand across the console and into Momo's, giving it a reassuring squeeze.

The older girl only sighed, thankful for the comfort. "Yes... Well, no. It's fine. I'm fine. Thanks, Mina." She turned to give a meek smile as Mina started the car. This was why she felt the way she did about the younger girl. A rock who could calm her down after anything, who would listen to her and indulge her in just being another girl. Momo let her eyes flit over the soft features of Mina at the wheel, her pale face illuminated by the soft lights of the city around them.

Sana festered at the table of the restaurant, a bottle of soju in one hand and the ring in the other. The singer rolled it between her fingers absent-mindedly as she took another deep gulp from her newest bottle. She was well over the limit to drive, and she had already asked the servers still in the restaurant to call her a taxi.

The image of Momo's face was burned into her mind. She had never seen the brunette look so hurt, sad, and scared. Sana wished she could cry, but she couldn't. She didn't feel sad. She just felt empty.

---

Sitting at the wooden dining table next to the kitchen, Tzuyu typed away at her computer. As she hummed along to the song that played in her headphones, she jumped in surprise when she heard the front door slam. Looking up from her screen, she almost smiled seeing the familiar blonde, but she quickly frowned seeing the state she was in.

Sana was clearly plastered.

Tzuyu left the table just in time to catch the staggering blonde before she crashed into the glossy, ceramic tiles beneath them. Struggling to support the older girl, Tzuyu blushed as the singer pressed up against her. Sana, who was shorter than her, had her face buried in the younger girl's chest, her arms wrapped comfortably around Tzuyu's neck and waist.

They remained like that for a while, Tzuyu supporting Sana to stand, and Sana adhered against her. The younger girl was about to ask if the blonde needed help getting up the stairs before she heard the small whimpers from the older girl's crying.

"Sana? Are you okay?", Tzuyu pulled away to look at the blonde's face, and sure enough, tears streamed down her face. Barely knowing what to do at the sad sight, she hugged the singer a little bit closer.

"Do you want to talk about what happened?" Almost unconsciously, her hand went up to tuck a loose lock of hair behind Sana's ear. Normally, Tzuyu was bad at dealing with situations like this. She was too stiff and awkward to properly comfort anyone, and admittedly she was usually the one crying, not the one whispering words of sympathy. Yet, seeing the blonde so incapacitated (whether it be from the alcohol or the tears), invoked a side of Tzuyu she didn't know she even had in her. She let the blonde's tears soak into her t-shirt while she held her, waiting for a response.

"She left...", Sana sniffled.

"Who left?" Tzuyu never thought she could see the blonde so vulnerable.

"Momo..."

"Momo? Hirai, Momo?" The younger girl knew that Momo was another singer in Twice, but she didn't know that the two were romantically involved with each other. She tried to keep her expressions neutral while piecing together the information in her head.

Sana nodded against Tzuyu's chest. "We were going to move in together... Then, she left." Sana's tears only worsened at that statement, and Tzuyu did her best to wipe them away. The blonde must have truly loved the other singer if they were going to be living together. The younger girl knew how badly heartache could hurt.

Suddenly, Sana pushed against Tzuyu's arms, stumbling across the living room and kitchen to the back sliding glass doors. Tzuyu's eyes widened when she saw what the blonde had retrieved from her pocket.

It was a glittery, expensive-looking ring.

As Sana slid open the door and drew back her arm in a motion to throw it into the vast lawn, Tzuyu rushed to grab her hand.

"What are you doing!", she exclaimed, fighting against the blonde, who struggled to free her arm.

"No, Tzuyu, you don't understand."

"You're throwing it away?"

"Yes, I'm throwing it away!" Sana seemed defeated, but Tzuyu was determined to keep it.

"Why? It seems expensive!"

Sana sighed. "These are our couple rings. We always get them for each other. We got a pair when we went to Hawaii and this ring... This one was meant for when we lived together."

With that, Sana wrenched her arm free and threw it with as much force as she could into the lawn. The younger girl watched it sail through the night air before being lost.

What a waste.

Tzuyu helped Sana stumble up the stairs to her bedroom. It had been an eventful night and both girls were eager to go to bed.

"Tzuyu...", Sana mumbled, "Don't even think about going out and finding that damn ring... Just listen to me. Leave it."

The younger girl bit her lip, the singer had read her mind, but the ring really did seem valuable. She could only wonder why Momo turned it down. Tzuyu helped sit the blonde on her bed and turned to leave once she saw the girl her dress. The thought of helping her out of her clothes made Tzuyu turn red. She was just glad the singer was capable enough to do it herself.

"Chewy?"

The soft voice fluttered out of the room.

"Chewy?" Tzuyu turned around, surprised at the new nickname. Thankfully, the girl was already curled up beneath the sheets, her dress now strewn on the floor.

"Yeah, Chewy... I can call you that right?", the singer mumbled against her pillow.

"Sure." Tzuyu looked on as the blonde's eyelids drooped.

"Thanks..."

"Oh no need to thank me, it's just a nickname!"

"Not for that." Sana smiled at the cute innocence of the girl standing at the door. "Just... Thanks for being here."

Tzuyu blushed. "Oh that's- It's nothing."

"Oh, and please don't tell anyone about tonight."

"Of course not. Goodnight Sana."

"Goodnigh-"

Tzuyu smiled as the older girl trailed off, finally peaceful and asleep. The blonde almost looked cute tucked in her white, queen bed. As Tzuyu moved to turn off the light, her hand knocked a stack of mail off of a nearby dresser. Picking up the envelopes, one caught her eye. It was a light pink, and it had the swirling Twice logo emblazoned on the side. Out of pure curiosity, Tzuyu brought it back with her to her room. Peeling it open, she discovered an invitation to an after-party of an awards ceremony Twice would be attending next week. Sana had no choice but to go because it was fitted into Twice's schedule, but all Tzuyu could notice were the words after.

"Attendees are permitted to bring any plus one."

Suddenly, she had an idea.

---

To say Sana was miffed would be a major understatement. It had been a week since the big debacle with Momo and Sana wasn't looking forward to resuming schedules and seeing her for the first time since then. She got a week off to move and adjust to her new house, but now the torture would start with an awards show. Lately, she had been spending her time annoying Tzuyu around the house, but JYPE had pulled her today to get ready for the Seoul Music Awards.

Sana could barely hide how miserable she was at the after-party. After winning the Bonsang Award, Twice was changed and moved into what was supposed to be a relaxing break from the crowds and performing. Sana couldn't help but wallow. Performing onstage with Momo was fine, (they were professionals and letting something interfere with a performance was unheard of), but afterward the tension between them was thick and stiff. Now here, dispersed throughout the party, Sana couldn't help but think Momo was busy flirting with Mina whilst Mina friend-zoned her.

While some members of Seventeen talked with her, Sana stood absent-mindedly, nodding her head every few seconds to act like she was listening. It wasn't that she wasn't interested, she was just too lost in her thoughts to focus.

"So we'll probably see you at the Golden Disk Awards!", DoKyeom grinned, his voice snapping Sana back to attention.

"Y-Yeah! See you then Seokmin!" Sana waved him off with the rest of s, not really remembering much of the conversation. Her eyes scoured over the crowds searching for Momo, but eventually she gave up and made her way to the buffet table.

There, she grabbed a glass of champagne. She wasn't trying to make a repeat of what happened last time she got drunk, but she hoped being a little buzzed would help take the edge off. Looking over the various hors d'oeuvres spread on the table, she saw a familiar flash of raven hair.

Standing a few feet away with her own glass was Tzuyu, who was sampling a few of the appetizers. She was wearing a long, lacy pink dress with matching earrings, and had Sana not had known her before, she would have believed she was another idol. The blonde stormed over despite her shock.

"Tzuyu! What are you doing here?"

Tzuyu flashed a smile. "Hi Sana," she replied cheekily.

Sana huffed. "What? Stalking me again?"

"Hardly. You're really not as desirable as you think you are. I'm not that into you." Tzuyu rolled her eyes.

"Not that into me? So you must be at least a little." A grin found its way onto Sana's face. She had to admit she was thankful to see the familiar face at the party. Hopefully, Tzuyu would serve as a helpful distraction from her thoughts.

"N-No! I don't like you. At. All!", Tzuyu replied adamantly, ignoring the way the blonde knew exactly how to push her buttons.

"Well, how did you even get in?"

"I'm your plus one. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go meet some people," Tzuyu pouted as she turned away, leaving her empty champagne flute on the table.

"Anything to help your career, huh." Sana jeered as the younger girl walked off.

Tzuyu sighed. She felt bad using Sana's invitation like this, but it would have been foolish for her to squander it. What was she supposed to do? Sana was the one who wanted her to make money to get out of the house in the first place.

She rushed quickly around a corner to flee the awkward situation, smack into a person approaching from the other side. Gentle hands steadied her in a dip before she could fall from her mistake.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorr-"

"Tzuyu?"

Finally getting a good look at who's arms were holding her, Tzuyu brightened a little.

"Mina?"

The older girl laughed, the sound dazzling like chimes throughout the room.

"I told you we'd meet again. It's so nice to see you."

"Yeah, what a coincidence," Tzuyu replied, returning the smile.

"Maybe it's fate." Flashing a gummy smile, the long-haired brunette released the blushing girl from her arms. "So what are you doing here, Tzu?"

Tzuyu only got shyer at the new nickname. "Oh, I'm trying to be an idol and I guess I'm here to market myself." She fiddled with her hands, all too aware of the beautiful woman in front of her. "Only now do I realize I have no clue who to meet."

Mina nodded her head knowingly. "I know what you mean. Why don't I help you? I promise I know my way around the business."

Sana was still close to the buffet table, picking at the hem of her dress waiting for the managers to tell her it was time to go.

"Sana..."

She stiffened at the familiar voice that called out to her.

"Momo!" Sana gave her best smile as she turned around to face the other singer. She only hoped it didn't look as stiff as it felt.

"Sana, about what happened I-"

"Just," Sana's smile wavered as she interrupted, "forget about it okay? It's fine."

"I'm sorry"

The blonde let a few beats of painful silence pass between them.

"I meant what I said about making it up to you, Satang. How about it? Ice cream?" Momo gave a forced smile.

Sana only shook her head. As much as she wanted to be over it, she was hurting. Not just because of that night, but this as a whole bothered her. The tight-lipped smiles, the tiptoeing around each other.

If only she knew why.

"You don't have to do that, Momo."

"I hate that you're mad at me Sana. It's my fault I know, if there anything I can do-"

"I'm not mad," Sana was getting tired of it, maybe she always was, "please Momo, just give me some space."

"Are you ... Are we done?"

"Of course not!" Sana hated how desperate she sounded, but somehow being away from Momo was worse than being with her.

Sana's affirmations seemed like all Momo needed to hear. A genuine, bubbly smile returned to her face.

"Good, because we're all gonna be hanging out more than ever."

"We're all?", Sana questioned.

"Yeah, the J-line's back in business now that Mina's back for good." Momo couldn't keep the joy out of her voice.

Sana felt her jaw tighten. "Is there a reason you're so happy?"

Momo shrugged.

"Is it Mina?"

"Can't I just be happy she's staying?"

Sana turned her eyes to the ground, keeping away the tears that threatened to ebb at the corners of her eyes. Why did Momo's life have to revolve around Mina? She obviously didn't care for her like that. This conversation was going nowhere and Sana would do whatever she could to keep it from ending in another fight. So she just left it and walked away.

And Momo just let her.

"So she gave you a look and you said what to her!?" Mina laughed as she listened to Tzuyu recount her savage moments from highschool. Their conversation about being idols quickly shifted personal, and Mina was having fun getting to know more about the younger girl's fun experiences.

"Hey, it wasn't even that mean!" Tzuyu blushed at having exposed her past, but she enjoyed hearing Mina laugh. It was like she had known the brunette for a long time, their conversations were always comfortable.

They laughed at the silliness of the story, but Tzuyu paused as her phone rang.

"Chou where are you, we're leaving."

"Hello to you too Sana. Sorry, but I'm kinda busy at the moment." She smiled shyly at Mina who felt her face grow warm at the attention.

"What could you possibly be doing? Annoying more people? Come on let's just gooooo"

Tzuyu rolled her eyes at Sana's immaturity. "Whatever, just leave without me."

"Then how are you getting home?

"I-" It was only then Tzuyu realized how much the cab here cost her, and she was not ready to fork up anymore to go back "Fine I'll meet you by the entrance."

As Tzuyu hung up, she gave Mina an apologetic smile.

"Sorry for the abrupt end, but I think I have to go now."

"Right now?" Mina pouted, showing every ounce of disappointment.

Tzuyu almost cooed at how cute she looked with her puppy eyes pleading her to stay.

"We'll see each other again."

Mina relented, but not before taking Tzuyu's phone out of her hand. "I'll make sure of it. Why don't you message next time you want to meet some people in the agency or..." her cheeks flushed involuntarily, "or if you just want to see me..."

She quickly input her contact information.

"O-oh yeah of course!" Tzuyu blushed seeing Mina had put herself in as Minarii <3, and gave the brunette a quick hug before waving goodbye.

Mina watched her leave with a grin plastered on her face. There was something charming about that tall, young girl. She was so shy and yet Mina could tell she had such a pure and kind heart. She had never had so much fun with a person before.

"Am I not enough?"

Mina's face fell. She didn't have to turn around to know who was speaking.

"What am I missing Mina? I care about you so much, I just don't know what more I have to do to get you to notice me." Momo was distraught, her fists balled at her sides. She had been watching from afar for some time. Mina never acted that way with her.

"I notice you." Mina knew what the conversation was leading to. She had been avoiding it for so long, telling herself she'd snuff out once she got serious with someone.

"I...I love you, Mina." Momo's voice was shaking at her confession.

"I'm so sorry Momo. I just- I," Mina looked everywhere but the hazel eyes trained on her, "I've always thought of you as a sister. It should be you and Sana. She really cares about you. She'll be good to you."

"Is that what this is about? Is it Sana? Because she likes me?"

Mina looked up to face her, crushed by the tears that spilled down her unnie's face. Abruptly, Momo sprinted off in the direction of the exit.

"Momo! Stop! Wait!", Mina chased after her. She could only assume she was looking for Sana.

"Did we really have to leave right now?" Tzuyu huffed, "Seriously! I was having the nicest talk with Mina when-"

"Mina?" Sana growled at the mention. "Why in the world would you be talking with her?"

She never got her answer, as she was soon interrupted by Mina's yelling.

"Momo seriously stop!" Mina desperately called after her friend, but it was too late. She could only watch as Momo gripped the blonde's arm, spinning her to face her.

"Sana, do you have feelings for me?"

The singer's initial shock gave way to fear. This moment was a culmination of everything she had dreaded.

Momo's grip tightened, it was beginning to hurt.

"Do you love me? Tell me right now."

Sana was vaguely aware of the crowd that was building up by the entrance. The mix of cameramen and photographers snooping around, hoping to catch who Sana's next playgirl pick would be. Who could blame them? Sana could only stand mouth agape, her mind on Momo and the sadness behind her eyes.

How could she ask her that? Momo had left. Left when Sana was ready to confess and lay her heart out on the line. Only now that Momo needed someone other than Mina to blame for her heartbreak does she turn to her. She didn't find the ring. She didn't stay with Sana. Every time Mina had called she'd go running.

That was so not fair.

"I have feelings... for you."

Say what you want about Sana. That she's got a bad defense mechanism or problems getting even, but at that moment she wasn't going to let Momo win like she always does.

"I love you, Tzuyu."

She barely had time to react as the blonde pressed her lips against her, left-hand on her neck pulling her closer. Had the singer not had been supporting her with her other hand at the waist, Tzuyu's knees would have buckled. She felt the flashing shutters and her face burn red.

It was happening all so fast, but Tzuyu remembered Sana's soft lips, her breath against her face, and the way her heart hammered in her chest. Momo and Mina could only watch with wide eyes.

Tzuyu barely processed how she got out of that party. The next thing she knew, she was waiting outside of J.Y Park's office for Sana to finish getting yelled at. There had been a lot of arguing, but Tzuyu was much too dazed to process what they were saying. She brought her hand up to her lips.

She...She kissed me!

---

"Where did this girl even come from? I've never even met her and now she's wearing a ring? It's too much Sana! You're playing with real people's feelings here. You don't just promise marriage like its nothing." Jihyo was furious, staring at Sana in complete disbelief.

For the first time during the meeting, Sana showed emotion. This was like every other scandal meeting she'd had, but it was the first time they had mentioned marriage.

JYP slid his iPad across the desk to the blonde, his head in his hands. Sana's eyes narrowed as she examined the photo displayed on the screen. It was the normal Dispatch announcement, but highlighted with a red circle was a glittering ring that eerily reminded Sana of one she threw out a few days ago.

I warned her.

Sure enough on Tzuyu's hand was a shiny "engagement ring." Momo's ring. The world would not give her a break.

"People are already betting on when you're gonna divorce. Congrats! You're trending.", Jihyo spat.

JYP sighed. "Sana if you're gonna break this girl's heart let us know now. We want to save your reputation," He gave the blonde a hard stare, "and TWICE's reputation from this as soon as possible. Fans already think you're irresponsible, but the members and I know how hard you work. Yet, when you pull stunts like this people can't help but think you're childish and immature."

Sana grimaced. It was one thing for Jihyo to yell, that was expected, but to be scolded by JYP hurt big time. She wasn't gonna let the group fall for this. For once she'd do the right thing.

"You're right. I've been childish. That's exactly why its time for me to settle down." She gave her best smile.

Jihyo's jaw dropped. "You're kidding me. You can't possibly be serious about marrying this girl."

Sana nodded profusely. "I promise they'll be no more scandals."

As she left through the glass door, JYP picked up his phone.

"I guess I'll set up a press conference."

---

The ride back home was painfully silent. At their arrival home, Tzuyu fled upstairs to her room, quickly shutting the door behind her. She had finally recovered from the haze of the events surrounding the... the kiss... but she was getting more and more fed up with the blonde's silence. They had to talk about it right? There had to be some sort of acknowledgment that it happened. Tzuyu began pacing the floor.

She needed answers.

She stormed across the hall to the blonde's room and wrenched the door open. To both of the girls' surprise, she had opened the door in the midst of Sana's changing, leaving the blonde exposed.

Deja vu.

Tzuyu hit her head on the door from turning around so fast, her face beet red.

"Don't you knock?!" Sana quickly put on her Apeach pajama set.

"We have to talk about it. Don't you have anything to say to me?" Tzuyu asked, her back still turned.

"About what? I'm dressed, you can look now."

Tzuyu spun around. "What do you mean about what? I may live here, but I'm not a slave. You can't just do whatever you want without my consent."

Sana remained silent for a long time, mulling the situation over in her head. Tzuyu grew more uncomfortable at every passing silent second.

"I'll give you your house back. It means a lot to you, right? Didn't you say it was your grandfather's?" The singer almost sounded devious to Tzuyu with her phrasing.

Sana caught the contempt in Tzuyu's brown eyes. "What's the catch." Tzuyu said it more as a statement than a question.

"Marry me."

If she had been eating anything, Tzuyu was certain she would have choked and died. She couldn't keep the heat from rising to her ears.

"W-what?", she squeaked, "Are- ARE YOU CRAZY?" She stepped backward instinctively. The proposal was hardly romantic. Was she supposed to be flattered or angry? Did marriage really mean that little to the blonde?

Sana rolled her eyes.

"Don't overreact. Just think of it as an economic proposition. Marry me."

Tzuyu was speechless. Sure they had kissed but last she checked that it didn't mean they had to get married! It was the most absurd thing she'd ever heard!

"Don't you want your very very important house back?" Sana bat her eyelashes. She was starting to get annoyed with how long all this was taking.

"O-of course! What does that have to do with marriage though? Don't tell me you're in love with me!"

Sana scoffed at the notion. "Oh hardly, but South Korea is booming with the news of our new engagement, honey."

"Engagement!?" Tzuyu recoiled in shock. Half of her wanted to believe this was all just some twisted nightmare and she'd wake up being pestered by Jeongyeon at the studio.

"Yes, engagement. Thanks for wearing that ring after I explicitly told you not to go after it, much less wear it for yourself.", Sana replied bitterly. She could admit it was her fault they kissed to get out of one -erm- bad situation for her, but the debacle would have been much easier had Tzuyu listened.

"H-hey, how can you blame me," Tzuyu started, "You're the one that..." Her voice trailed away and her face dusted with color, recalling the events at the party. In the midst of her panic at the blonde's silence, she failed to let the kiss really hit her. Minatozaki, Sana had really kissed her. Her usual shy demeanor returned full force.

Sana almost forgot how innocent the girl standing in her room was. A smile tugged at her lips.

"Don't tell me you enjoyed it." The singer grinned, self-satisfied at seeing Tzuyu grow even redder.

"N-no . . . Hey! Stop avoiding the question. We're not getting married!", Tzuyu sputtered. Sure, maybe the kiss was good. Really good. And maybe she had fantasized about it once or twice since they'd started living together, but she was definitely not going to admit that any time soon.

"Look Tzuyu," Sana opened her hands to spell it out as simply as possible, "as you probably already know, I've had a lot of scandals in the past. Jihyo and the management have already been on my and not in the good way."

The Tzuyu's brow furrowed, "What does that have to do with me?"

"I'm getting there. We're engaged. At least, that's what everyone believes. It'd ruin TWICE's image if I suddenly went from breaking hearts to breaking off engagements. If the media can tie one of us to something this sloppy you bet they could spin it to be a bad thing for us all."

Tzuyu's eyes softened, sympathetic for Sana's cause. "Still. . . why not tell the truth? Wouldn't it be better in the long run?"

The blonde bit her lip. "Explaining the ring would be tricky, to say the least. It wouldn't change the fact I let myself get into this situation in the first place. Also, if you think I'm gonna profess my love for Momo to the world any time soon, let me stop you right there."

"What's wrong with that? I'm sure she loves you. You were going to move in together! You don't jump into that type of commitment unless your relationship is at least near that point." Tzuyu smiled encouragingly, practically beaming at the idea of such true love.

Sana gave a somber smile at the naïvety. "Sometimes things just don't work the way you think they will."

The way the blonde's eyes filled with a glassy sadness didn't go unnoticed by Tzuyu.

Sana started up again, shaking her head to rid her mind of the thoughts. "She just- She doesn't love me that way."

Momo was in love with Mina. There was no way around it.

"I'm sick of the scandals, the papers, and the stupid rumors. I'm really not half as bad as they make me out to be."

Tzuyu pursed her lips. "I still don't think marriage is the answer. For you or for me." Marriage was something meant for someone you really love. Tzuyu had found that out the hard way. It was sacred, a place for love that would always be out of reach for her.

The singer cocked an eyebrow. "Marriage alone won't fix this. We'd fake it plain and simple. All the bells and whistles. Let them believe we're in love, living together, and that I've gone all soft after getting hitched."

"We can barely stand each other."

"We're doing decent right now, aren't we?"

Tzuyu rolled her eyes, shaking her head in amusement, failing to keep a ghost of a smile from gracing her lips.

Sana seized the opportunity to push. "I promise no funny business! Just, uh, normal business. All I'm asking is for you to pretend to be my wife for like a year at the most. We can even have separate rooms, and after a year you'll get your house back. No questions asked. We'll get a divorce, I'll move out, and you'll never have to see me again." Her eyes locked onto Tzuyu's rich gaze expectantly, silently pleading for the answer she wanted to hear.

"I don't-," The younger girl broke the eye contact between them, feeling burdened under the blonde's stare, "I just don't trust you."

"I get it, but think about it. It's a win-win!"

Tzuyu weighed the idea in her mind. She doubted Sana would ever want to sell the house back (not that Tzuyu would ever be able to pay it back), and with this plan, she wouldn't have to pay a cent. Also, marrying a member of the nation's girl group would probably help her career or at least put her on the map.

She glanced at Sana sitting on the ground in front of her.

Maybe I'd even be able to fix her frivolity with love...

"What would you tell people when we get a divorce? If it's for your image it still won't look good if we split."

A wide smile broke out on the blonde's face. The fact Tzuyu was even asking meant that maybe just maybe they could actually pull this off.

"I'm sure I could spin it. My schedule never aligned for us and we were forced to break up. I'm just a heartbroken divorcee, crushed by the loss of my love." She brought her hand to her forehead in a dramatic flourish feining her woe at the thought.

Tzuyu stifled a snicker. "Well, I need a contract."

Sana paused in the midst of her acting. "Contract?"

"Something tangible to keep you from going back on your promises."

Sana grimaced. "Like I could even stand being married to you for one year, much less more."

"Sana."

"Okay, yeah, fine. I'll get us a contract. Just whatever you do, don't go falling in love with me."

Tzuyu would have laughed had the blonde not have said it so seriously.

"Just make the damn contract.", she muttered.

It was well into the AM's and both parties sat across from each other at the dining room table. Each held a pen and a piece of paper detailing their rules for the marriage. While Sana had scrawled down a single sentence, Tzuyu's list contained several requirements.

"Is this even legal?", Sana yawned.

"It doesn't matter. Either way, I'll have something to blackmail you with if you happen to be lying." Tzuyu grinned maliciously.

Sana pursed her lips. At times, she swore sometimes she could see the horns growing from the younger girl's head.

"Just give me your terms." She rested her head on the table.

"Number One: We respect each others' privacy." Tzuyu paused and looked up expectantly at the blonde.

"Okay, done," Sana acknowledged.

"Number Two: Neither party can demand physical intimacy."

The singer raised her eyebrows. "Woah! You better hold yourself accountable to that one. I can't imagine what you were thinking about while staring at me on that flight.", she said mockingly covering her body.

Tzuyu stuck her tongue out at the girl across from her, trying to hide the pale pink that spread across her cheeks. "Shut up. Number Three: This contract expires exactly one year from today. Number Four: The owner of the house reverts back to me at the end of our agreement."

"Done and done. My turn. 'Should any third party gain knowledge of this contract or any parts affiliated, the contract shall be nullified.'"

Tzuyu answered in a breathy whisper, the finality of it all hanging in the room. "Done."

"I guess that's it."

"So, where do we sign?"

---

Tzuyu had continued to work despite the events that had occurred. She may not need to pay the blonde back for the house "monetarily", but the singer had made it clear that Tzuyu was in charge of all of the cooking, cleaning, and other domestic needs for the couple. She needed the money for things like groceries and personal expenses. Not to mention that her savings would get used dry if she suddenly stopped working.

She in a breath of air. Jeongyeon and Nayeon were still missing, and she had to pick up their classes during their absence. Despite her initial anger at the couple for conning her, she couldn't help but feel concerned. They had been missing for weeks, and with each passing day, her worry grew.

As she pulled up to the dance studio for work that morning her eyes flickered to a parking spot by habit. These past two weeks it had been empty, but today was different. In the spot was a standard grey sedan. A very familiar sedan.

Okay scratch that. Screw being worried for them. Tzuyu was getting her revenge today.

Without wasting another second, Tzuyu swerved into the nearest parking spot and sprinted into the building.

They can't run away this time.

Entering the lobby she saw them, both Nayeon and Jeongyeon unsuspecting to the fury that had just arrived. Suddenly, Tzuyu charged toward the couple, tackling Jeongyeon to the floor.

Relentlessly, the maknae hit the short-haired girl below her in a fit of cathartic rage.

"How could you do this to me!?" Tzuyu huffed.

"Stop it you're hurting her!"

"That's the plan!"

Nayeon's arms wrapped around Tzuyu's back, and she allowed herself to be pulled off of Jeongyeon.

Tzuyu closed her eyes to bottle her rage. Her feelings had been in tumult since the whole "her friends sold her house and ran" dilemma. Seeing them in person now, she couldn't contain her anger.

Jeongyeon stood up off the ground. The older girl was stronger than she looked and could take a few punches, so she remained otherwise unharmed.

"I'm sorry, I guess I deserved that. Geez, Tzuyu, when did you get so strong?." She winced and gave a small smile in a vain attempt to pacify the angry girl across from her.

Tzuyu remained silent.

Nayeon quickly released the girl from her grip and moved to Jeongyeon's side, checking her nose and face for bruises.

"Tzuyu we're sorry."

"You're sorry? That's all you can say? You sold my house! And now-!"

And now I'm forced to marry some conceited prick!

She bit her tongue to keep the secret from spilling out. "n-now where is my money?"

"We don't have it," Nayeon spoke again before Tzuyu could interrupt. "and we're really sorry."

"Yes, you're sorry as you've said several times before! Now, where's my money unnie!"

Tzuyu threateningly raised her fist again (though she hardly looked it).

"Please just hear us out!"

"First," Jeongyeon started, "you have to know how sorry we are. Second. . . we're married."

Tzuyu's jaw dropped, her eyes shifting from one girl to the other.

The couple smiled, "It was a lot of money to get it all set up and officiated, but we've been dating for years now. Remember how I told you that dreams are important? We had been hoping and hoping for so long we could seal the deal, but even if it was a small wedding with just our families, neither of us could afford both the ceremony and our bills."

"No, no, no. Don't look at me with those puppy dog eyes. I'm still so mad at you guys!" Tzuyu's voice wavered.

"University left us both with debt. We wanted a fresh start for married life, but I'm sorry. We're sorry." Jeongyeon reached for Nayeon's hand, regret behind her eyes.

"Why didn't you guys just come to me for help?" She could see 2yeon was genuinely sorry, but there was still so much wrong with what they did.

Nayeon grimaced. "We weren't thinking. You're like family to us, and we were too scared to admit to burdening you face to face."

"Then what made you come back?" Tzuyu crossed her arms, taking a few steps toward the couple. If the conversation were any different, she would have laughed at the way they shrunk away at her approach. They were intimidated by her, whom they'd seen crying like a baby countless times.

"We have to pay you back somehow. We've made up our minds that we're not gonna hide. We're gonna work hard and pay you back no matter how long it takes." Tzuyu noted Nayeon's resolute expression.

She let out a deep sigh. Her anger slowly fizzling away as their conversation progressed. She was just too much of a softie to keep up this front.

"I just can't stay mad at you guys." She spoke again, noticing the widening grins on 2yeon's faces. "You guys totally owe me for this."

The younger girl felt the wind get knocked out of her as the couple charged forward, engulfing her in a hug.

"Thank you so much, Tzu!"

Jeongyeon chuckled at the tears Nayeon began to shed. "Got to be honest. Not a good look on you, babe."

Nayeon shoved her wife. "Whatever! I'm just happy she forgave us. I was so worried..."

The maknae smiled. She was glad everything was back to normal with them. If she was being honest, her world felt a lot emptier without them. 2yeon was her family no matter what.

"Show me your wedding rings!" Tzuyu squealed, gawking over how cute the couple was, now married.

Nayeon raised an eyebrow. "Speaking of marriage, you're with Minatozaki, Sana? That singer from Twice? And where are you living now?"

Tzuyu smiled awkwardly at the barrage of questions. "About that. . . I'm still staying at the house."

"What? How? We sold it."

"It was Sana who bought it."

Now it was Jeongyeon's turn for questions. "I didn't know you had been dating her. In the news, she was always shown as some kind of player. When did you two start dating? And you're already living together?"

"Honey, they're getting married," Nayeon interrupted.

"I know that, but Tzuyu are you sure about this? From what I've seen she doesn't really come across as someone who'd commit." Jeongyeon ignored the glares from her wife warning her not to judge the younger girl's choices. She was just looking out for Tzuyu.

"I- uh..." Tzuyu struggled to answer. What was she supposed to say? Technically Sana really wasn't the type to commit.

"We- Oh I think my phone's ringing!"

Quickly, she pulled her phone out, pretending to answer a call. She smiled sheepishly at her two friends. "I forgot I have to meet Sana right now. Sorry about this guys, could you tell the manager I won't be teaching since you guys can take your classes back today? Okay, thanks! I should leave now."

Blushing with embarrassment as she left, she waved to the couple over her shoulder. The two girls stood perplexed at Tzuyu's abrupt leave, but still managed to wave back.

---

"Where is she? Is she ready yet?" Sana fidgeted nervously, habitually picking at the hem of her skirt. It was finally the day of the press conference where the two would publicly announce their engagement.

"Hey, relax. She'll be out soon." The manager gave her a reassuring smile, but Sana couldn't keep her foot from anxiously tapping.

Her finger wavered over the call button on her phone, Tzuyu's number already dialed in, but before she could press it a figure approached in her peripheral. When she finally looked, her eyes widened.

Tzuyu stood tall and awkward in a solid black dress adorned with frills. Her face was permanently red as she sheepishly tucked her long, black hair behind her ear.

"Do I look weird? I look awkward don't I," she commented nervously after seeing Sana's expression.

Sana cleared , quickly turning away from the beauty that stood before her. She hoped Tzuyu hadn't noticed the flush that spread across her face after she'd realized she'd been staring at her.

"You look fine. Don't worry about it." The singer shot a glare at her manager's snigger, who noticed her embarrassment.

The younger girl smiled at the reassurance. "Err. . .What should I do if I don't know what to say? Or if I mess up or-"

"Hey, it's gonna be fine!" Sana smiled noticing the worry that had crept into Tzuyu's voice. "If you're ever nervous just look at me and I'll help you."

Tzuyu was surprised when she felt Sana's hand interlace with her own as they walked to the stage. Before she could comment on it, the blonde pushed open the door and the two were met with flashing lights. She felt the singer squeeze her hand as she led her into the room full of press reporters and cameras.

Tzuyu was so nervous, all she could do was smile, deaf to the words J.Y.P said as the conference began. She registered Sana talking in the chair to her right, and the reassuring squeeze of her hand every few minutes like a pulse.

"We had met on the plane. She looked so nervous I had to ask if it was her first time flying." She glanced at the younger girl with a smile full of warmth, which Tzuyu somehow managed to return despite the way her nerves consumed her.

"How did you manage to capture the heart of an idol loved by so many?" one reporter asked.

Tzuyu opened to reply, but no words came out. Her eyes darted to J.Y.P then to Sana where their gazes locked. The blonde's eyes were filled with such apparent love, her brain only malfunctioned more. How was Sana such a perfect actor? Tzuyu could hardly believe this was the same girl she was living with.

She felt another squeeze from Sana's hand. "I'm sorry about this, she's sort of taken aback by all of the press." The singer turned her body away from the cameras to face the younger girl. "Baby, they're asking how you captured my unobtainable, idol heart," she whispered, purposely loud enough to be caught by the reporters, who chuckled at the silliness of the couple on the stage.

"I-I'm not exactly sure how it happened. . . I guess I'm still waiting for someone to wake me up and tell me I was dreaming." Tzuyu's face reddened all the way up to the tips of her ears at the "aww" that emerged from the crowd.

"Why rush marriage?", another reporter shouted.

"After I first met her, I tried to figure out why I couldn't get her off my mind. I kept talking to her and learning more. As I continued searching, I just found more and more reasons to love her. So I thought, screw it, why would I wait? I know she's the one for me. I want to protect her, care for her, and most of all love her. Love her as my wife." Sana lifted their intertwined hands and planted a small kiss on Tzuyu's knuckle, eliciting another flash of photos.

"I love you, Chewy."

Tzuyu gasped in surprise as the blonde moved forward to capture her lips in a kiss that left her melting. Surprising even herself, she kissed back.

If their situation had been any different, she was sure she would have fallen in love right then and there.

---

When Sana opened the door to her house, she was surprised to find it not only dirty but empty. She had just come home from a dance review with the rest of TWICE, where JYP and the members seemed very supportive of her "marriage", especially after the press conference. Apparently, their lies were working, and damn well. Korea had fallen in love with the idea of such a pure, innocent girl taming the wild heart of an idol gone rampant.

Sana mentally rolled her eyes. If only they knew the half of it.

"Where are you? You left the house a mess." Sana had promptly dialed the younger girl, talking before she could even greet her.

"I can clean it when I get back, don't get so mad. If you're that bothered, clean it yourself.

Sana tsked at the girl's sass.

"You couldn't even leave a note? Where have you run off to, now? I'm coming to pick you up."

"I'm on my way to Seoul."

"Seoul?" What business could Tzuyu have in Seoul?

"I think. . . I think your family wants to meet me." Tzuyu fidgeted in the backseat of the car on its way to a hotel in Seoul. The sleek, black Lexus had picked her up with the Minatozaki family driver reassuring her she'd be fine, with his thick Japanese accent.

Sana nearly dropped her phone.

She had to get her out of there.

Hey everyone! For the past couple of months, I've been studying for some finals and testing for school and have just been generally too busy to write. However, I am excited to say F4F will be back on track by August 10! Love you all <3 and thanks for the nice comments
