Kei impatiently tapped his fingers on his chair’s arm rest having waited for almost an hour for his precious girlfriend to come out from her office. Kim was supposed to finish at 5pm today but it seems that the girl forgot all about him and their arranged “date”. It’s been months now since they had some ‘alone’ time together and this is far too much for Kei’s apprehension. It’s usually Kei not having time for ‘dates’ like this, being an idol and all… but this time, Kim is also being pressed at work to do more hours. 

“I promise we’ll do something this summer!” Kim’s words lingered through his mind. He remember her saying this a few weeks ago and guess what? It’s already SEPTEMBER and they haven’t done anything yet! He pictured Kim and himself being hit by the waves in the sea, however, that fantasy became dimmer and dimmer with autumn coming their way. 

The hand clock struck 6 and at last, the girl he was waiting for finally appeared. An immediate smile formed on his face but soon faded when he saw a manly figure walking side by side his girlfriend. 

“Kei? What are you doing here?”, Confused from his sudden visit, Kim said this after confirming that it is indeed her boyfriend.

“What’s wrong with me picking my girlfriend up from work?” He said, emphasising the word ‘girlfriend’ to mark his territory. He shot daggers at the guy near Kim and felt victorious when he saw him take a step back. It’s been weeks since he saw his girlfriend in flesh and he felt irritated seeing her with another guy. 

“Maa, I’ll go ahead, Kim-chan… I’ll see you tomorrow in the office ne?” The man politely said and soon retreated, having a gorgeous 29-year old man glare at him.

“Well, that was rude, Inuu-chan!” Kim gave him a slight whack on the arm. It’s unusual for her to see her boyfriend being unfriendly to others. 

“I waited here for almost an hour, then this?! You better not be flirting with him all this time!” Kei sounded betrayed, he raised his voice a little, making Kim taken aback. “You promised to spend the whole summer with me but it’s already SEPTEMBER and we haven’t done anything! And just thinking you see THAT guy 8 hours a day, 5 days a week makes me crazy!”

“Wait, are you jealous?”

“You can’t blame me for acting jealous, because… I AM!” He replied in a-matter-of-fact tone. Annoyed, he scuffled his hair and turned his back on the girl. He expected Kim to fight back but he just heard giggles from behind. “What’s so funny?”

“Nothing, you have steam coming out of your ears just now…” Kim chuckled after seeing Kei’s embarrassed face… “We can still do some summer stuffs even though it’s already September, you know”, the girl continued then led Kei just outside the building. 

“Really? Like what?”

“Hmm… Oh! I know!” Kim’s face lit up as a sudden idea of a ‘summer’ activity came to her, “We can go hiking and then fishing this Saturday!” 

“Okay… but let me make it clear. JUST THE TWO OF US!”

“Geez.. what’s with you and ‘being alone together’ all of the sudden?” Kim rolled her eyes after hearing her boyfriend’s enthusiastic plea of them being ALONE. 

“What do you mean?! It’s been awhile since I got my ‘score’!”

“You’re a ERT!”

“Finally! Let’s goooo, Kim-chan” Kei grinned with the thought of finally getting some alone time with Kim came to mind. He eyed the young lady to his left and made sure that she got everything. Kei clicked his apartment door open and his grin suddenly transformed into a frown after seeing the saddened skies just outside his door. 

“What the…” Kim mouthed the words of disappointment. 

“You gotta be kidding me!” As if drained out of all his energy, he felt his shoulder drop as soon as droplets of water hit his skin. “It’s been sunny these last few days! Why does it have to rain now?!!” Defeated, he looked at Kim and the chance of getting his ‘score’ disappeared. “I hate AUTUMN!”
