“Do you lack basic communication skills? Talk to me.”

His hands tightened around the cup and closed his eyes, “Please. Please just humor me.”
He had never been one to beg. It was obvious how hard it was for him to do it then, and you took enjoyment in seeing the man who had everything need something from you. But he was insistent, and his desperation for your cooperation almost made you feel bad.
