Foreword

“Don’t’ go!” Dara shot up from her sleep, her forehead and neck drenched with cold sweat. She wasn’t sure what that dream was about, but it made her heart ache. She clenched her fist and lightly tapped it against her chest.

“Calm down, Dara. Just a dream.” She repeated those words over and over again while soothing her chest, hoping that it could calm the erratic beating of her heart. She shifted her body and let her legs dangled out of her bed. With a loud sigh, she poured herself a glass of water by her bedside and gulped it in one go.

That dream was not the first, and she was sure that it won’t be the last.

She closed her eyes and racked her brain to extract any memory of that dream. But like the previous nights, she could not recall. The more she tried to remember, the more her heart ached. She opened her eyes and glanced at the clock opposite her bed.

3.45 AM.

“Too early for me, aisht."
