Hi, it's misumienai13 here! I've had this idea and has started writing for a while. I always feel the need to provide a prologue for my stories in hope that you could take a peek on what kind of journey you're about to embark on. I hope you're ready cause this time you'll really be in the story as one of the characters, haha. I hope you will enjoy it, tell me all your thoughts on the comments

Foreword

a prologue

act zero: the one who's stranded

I walked along the side of a road. The street was packed, yet I feel so alone. People just pass me by. A guy in a suit was walking in hurry and bumped straight into me, but he didn’t stop to apologize. He didn’t even look at me. It’s not his fault though.

No one in this world can see me.

I used to avoid people but now that I’m really invisible, I kinda miss people. I used to want to disappear, but now, I’m really scared that I’d cease to exist.

I miss a lot of things. I even miss all the things I used to hate, my house, math class, my part-time job… Oh, what I would give just to have one last insult from Mrs. Lee. I wouldn’t even mind all the weird looks people at school always gave me.

Now, when I’m not lost wandering around, I’m mostly in third person mode. You know like I was floating above some things occurring in this world. It’s just like watching a movie or reading a story.

And at times, I also do experience being someone else, being in someone’s head but it’s not like I’m them. I don’t have any control or will. I was just there watching what they see, listening to what they hear and think. I can’t even choose whose head to go into or what scenes to watch. It’s just random. At least I think it is.

I admit it’s kind of fun at times. But then I remember that this is not my life at all. I don’t even know how long it’s been, time’s kind of an abstract when I’m floating around time and spaces. I was ready to give up.

But something weird happened last night.

It was a cold and windy night. The moon was full, making it appears to be really close to the earth. A cat, with fur as dark as a starless sky and eyes as blue as a bright morning sky, walked slowly. A pendant in the shape of Saturn was attached to its collar, the round gem on the center of it was swiveling as it walks, a leash was hanging down from its collar. No one was holding the other end, so it got dragged, leaving a long thin trail on the wet pavements. The cat approached a girl in a dark blue coat. The girl’s hair was the same color as the cat’s collar and leash. It was a shade of brown with a little bit of red. Mahogany. The cat started purring as it rests its head on the girl’s leg. But the girl was quiet, standing really still, looking straight ahead.

Across, a guy stood up as he looked at the dark alley on his left side. The wind brushed away his hair from his forehead revealing a small line where no hair grew on his right eyebrow. Footsteps were heard. Another guy came out from the shadow. He walked toward him and shrugged. The guy with the faded scar kneels back down. His hand was steady, holding a knife. The blood dripping from it was glistening like a red sapphire under the moonlight, reflecting the smile on his face.

Another drop of blood landed on top of a watch’s cracked glass. The blood seeping through it caused the watch to ticked really slow before it finally stopped. The little hand on it was pointing at the number 9. The watch was attached to the bloody hand of the guy who was laying on the cold ground. That hand is now reaching out. His gaze was locked on to the girl with the mahogany hair. His pale lips were moving as he speaks. Making the other two looked at the direction he was reaching out to. Which now is just an empty space.

I walked in a long hall with a door at the end of it. Then suddenly I was inside a room. I see each one of the people who were present on the other night. They are sitting in a semi-circle, talking to each other. Why do I always brought to them? Why am I here?

I suddenly felt really warm like I was wrapped inside a blanket. The room got quiet. They stopped talking and stared right at me.

“Who are you?"
