He never meant to fall in love with her.

He wasn't even sure if he could call it 'love'.

All Hendery knew was that his heart would skip a beat every time he heard her voice through the phone and he would replay the song she requested for the whole day while waiting for her next call. 

Was he in love?

He couldn't be sure about that.

It all started one night while he was on his usual shift. He worked the night shift at their small radio station and didn't really mind the late hours though it was rather a slow way to pass by the time. 

Until she called in one night.

Their station did offer song requests a few hours into his shift but barely anyone bothered to call in. He was rather surprised when he heard the phone ring. It had been his first call to receive so he was excited. 

"Uh... Hi," she was the first one to speak, "Do you guys still accept song requests this late?"

Hendery's eyes flickered to the clock, the clock just struck midnight. "Yes, we're still accepting. What would you like to hear?" His fingers hovered over the keyboard, readying himself to accept his first song request. 

"IOAH's 1," she made sure to spell it out just in case. 

Hendery quickly searched the song and was about to click on it before he realized he needed her name as well. "And this song is from...?" 

"... Peach."

He couldn't help but chuckle once he heard the name she decided on using. He found it to be a cute name and wondered if the name fitted the person who was talking on the other line. Something about the way she spoke made him imagine her to be this sweet person - as sweet as a peach. 

"Have a nice night, Hendery. Hope you'll enjoy the song," her words of gratitude was enough to make his heart pound fast.
