It has been 1.5 weeks since SHINee lost Jonghyun. Taemin been in the dance practice room for hour on end. Their practices usually end arounnd 5:30 or 6-ish pm. He doesn't return to the dorms until 4 am. 

It happened on Thursday December 28, SHINee's practice ended at 6:15 pm. The hyungs left Taemin, knowig his habit and they were all emotionally tired to haggle with him, to come with them.

Taemin ws left alone. he danced until his body couldn't handle anymore movements. Then he landed swayed and braced himself for impact but his body never hit the ground. He was caught in the arms of his best friend.

K: Taemin-ah are you alright?

T: Jongin?

K: What are you doing here alone?

T: The usual

K: Seriously Minne, you need to stop

T: you don't understand.

K: oh really? You just lost one of your hyungs. Do you think the only thing you can do to stop blaming yourself is to dance non stop? 

T: Maybe???

K: No it's not Taemin-Hyung

T: ...

K: I telling you this beacuse I care for you. You are hurting those who care for you the most

T: Huh?

K: Your members myself, and our group of friends. also SM Town

T: Really?

K: Yes

T: oh..

K: That all you can say?

T: it's shocking i thought everyone was busy mouning Jonghyun's death to notice what I was doing.

K: We are mourning his death but we're also worried abouth SHINee and those closest to Jonghyun.

T: i'm sorry.

K: I know. Lets get to back to the dorms.

T: Alright. But EXO's dorm

 

Next morning @ Shinee's Dorm:

Minho: Hey Hyungs. Did Taemin come home last night?

Key: No

Onew: Where can he be?

Minho: Is he still in the dance studio?

Onew: Maybe he fell asleep there

Key: He should have called and told one of us though

Manager: he's not at the dance studio

Onew: Manager hyung what do you mean?

*Minho's phone rings*

Phone call:

Minho: Hello?

Suho: Hey min

Minho: Su, do you hapen to know where Taemin is?

Suho: I might

Minho: ?

Suho: *Hands phone to Kai*

Kai: Good morning Minho hyung

Minho: Kai?

Kai: Yes

Minho: Do you know where Taemin is?

Kai: Yes he is at Exo's dorm

Minho: Why didn't you call us last night?

Kai: Well it was 3:30 am when I found Taemin almost fainting in the dance studio

Minho: Everyone over here has been worried sick.

Kai: I know. I sorry.

Minho: Don't apologize

Kai: Hyung. has Taemin been eating and sleeping well?

Minho: Why do you ask?

Kai: He looks sickly pale and has deep dark circles that make him look like a panada.

Minho: Now you mention it I haven't seen him eat as much and he has only gotten 2-3 hours of sleep.

Kai: How are you hyungs doing?

Minho: I have no idea. For myself, I cant sleep without being tormented bt nightmares of Jonghyun.

Kai: Taemin is also having nightmares.

Minho: really why won't he tell any of us?

Kai: he does not  want to burden you all.

Minho: oh... can youdrop Taemin off?

Kai: sure. bye hyung.

 

EXO Dorm

K: Tae, come let get you back to Shinee.

T: Alright. 

K:  How are you feeling?

T: so so

K:  You know I am always here for you if you need to talk to somebody.

T: I know.

K:  Taemin, can I ask you something and please don't get mad.

T: Shoot. I won't get mad 

K:  Are you eating and sleeping properly?

T: why do you ask?

K:  you look unhealthly pale and the have really dark eye circle that make you look like a pandda.

T: To tell you the truth Nini, I haven't slept for almost 2 weeks. And I can't seem to keep my food down.

K:  oh.

Back to Shinee's dorm:

*knock on the door*

M: I got it

Key: Who is it?

M: It Kai 

O: Is taemin with him?

M: Yes

Kai: Good morning Hyungs I have a delivery  for you.

T: Hey am I now and item to you all.

ALL: No 

Kai: I'm sorry minnie. I wa strying to lighten the mood.

Onew: LEE TAEMIN, DO YOU KNOW HOW WORRIED WE BEEN?

T: (Cowers behind Kai) maybe...

Key: MAYBE?

T: I mean yes.

Minho: WHy didn't you call us?

T: My phone died.

Key: Kai why didn't you call us when you found him?

Kai: I was about to but the time.

Minho: He was wooried that he would anger us if he woke us up. Being respectful as always, huh kai?

Kai: yes

Onew: we would not have minded your call

Kai: I should have. Taemin at the time was having an emotional breakdown. I knew you all were physially and emotionly exausted too.

Minho: What?

Key: Huh? 

Onew:???

*Kai turns back to find Taemmin swaying again*

T: Kai?

Kai: Tae!!!! Hold on... * catches Taemin in his arms*

Key: Tae baby?

Onew:..

Minho: Taeminnie

*kai carries him to the couch.*

Onew: Jongin?

Kai: yes

Onew: can i talk to you alone?

 Kai: sure

*They head to Onew's room.*

Onew's Room

O: Jongin what happened last night?

Kai: I was finishing up my practiciee for my solo dance. I found Taemin swaying and almost fell to the ground. if it wasn't for me catching him he would have hit the floor and got a concusion.

Onew:  Thank you.

Kai: Hyung, you don't need to thank me. He is my best friend so I will make sure he is alright.

Onew: did he tell you anything?

Kai: He was blaming himself for not realizing that Jonghun was suffering. and he did tell any of you hyungs about this because he didn't want to burden you all with his emotions.

Onew: We all have been blaming ourselves too.

Kai: But do you realize that even if you knew what was going on you could not change Jonghyun hyung's mind. It nobody's fault that he is gone.

Onew: Jongin what do you mean?

Kai: Please don't tell anybody what I am about to tell you.

Onew: Okay. 

Kai: I have depression and I have attempted suicide. I was overwhelmed by all the expectations. I could  not enjoy dancing.  I felt trapped. I think Jonghyun felt the same with composig not only for Shinee or himself but for other idols as well. And the pressure of having to produce award winning songs got to him. 

Onew: Kai... I never knew.. Does Taemin know

Kai: I didn't want anyone to know. but recently I did open up in an interview. He and I share the same mentality. He already knows even without me say anything.

Onew: Now back to Taemin...

Kai: What do you want to know?

Onew: Has he been sleeping and eating.

Kai: On the  way here, he told me "he has not been able to eat and has gottenenough sleep for the past few weeks."  Last night while he was sleeping, he was mumbling and shaking in his sleep.

 

Meanwhile outside:

Key and Minho are in the kitchen whispering in order to not wake Taemin uo.

Key: How did Jongin know when to turn back and catch Tae?

M: do you even have to ask? it might have been 'twin telephathy'

Key: you're right sbout that.

M: what is Taemin mumbling abou?

Key I don't know.

 Taemin's nightmare:

T: Jonghyun hyung?

Jonghyun:...

T: Hyung where are you?

Jonghyun: Home

T: why

Jonghyun:  I want to be alone

T: What is wrong

Jonghyun: Nothing. I just want to be alone.

T: Hyung...

Jonghyun: Tae, I am alright. Stop worrying you sound like Key

T: No idon't. Can't a dongsamg worry for his hyung?

Jonghyun: yes.

T: I'm cooming over

Jonghyun: please don't

...

Taemin arrives jonghyun's appartment. He knocks but nobody answers. He find the spare key hidden in the mailbox and opens the door. Unsuspecting he walks into the living room to find Jonghyun unconscious with a pan of burning coal next to him. he rushes to the kitchen to grab the fire exstinguisher and puts the coal fire out. He then check if Jonghyun is still breathig. He call 911.

T: I need help. My friend is unconscious.

911: What is your friend's name.

T: Jonghyun... Kim Jonghyun.. My- he breaks down- My... name.... is... Taemin

911: Breathe... Taemin... 

the phone drops. 

Taemin is in tears with Jonghyunin his embrace.

NO JONGHYUN HYUNG DONT LEAVE ME!

this send everybody in the dorm running to him.

Key and Minho geth there first but are afraid to touch their maknae.

Onew arrives next with Kai trailing him.

He is frozen in his spot.

"hyung!"

Kai rushes forward and embraces Taemin.

Kai: Taemin-ah wake up...

T: (in his nighmare) Hyung is that you?

Kai: Min-ah *wipes Taemin's tear stained cheeks*

T:  (nightmare) That voice can't be hyung's

Kai: Tae... Please wake up...

T: Kai? how is he here

Kai: *tightens his hold around Taemin*

T: I feel so warm and it's not coming from Jonghyun Hyung..

Kai: Taeminnie wake up you're having a night mare

T: *slowly regains consciousness*

Kai: Minnie... shhh dont cry

T: *bawls*

Kai: I'm here you are okay.

T: Where Jonghyun?

Everyone is shocked

Kai: Tae, what do you mean

T: where's jonghyun?? I want him...

Kai:*Look at his hyungs for help?*

Minho: Maknae-ah Jonghyun is not here any more...

T: I just saw him... You are lying to me.

Key: Baby listen to umma, Jonghyun is not here he is gone.

T: No....

Onew: They are not lying, Min.

T: Kai

Kai: *look at his best friend sadly* Tae, Jonghyun Hyung is not here. he passed away roughly 2 weeks ago.

T: sobs

Kai: minnie, shh

T: i miss him somuch

Kai: ...

T: Will you leave me too Nini?

Kai: No I won't leave you. You're stuck with me for the rest of your life.

T: sobs and laughs at the same time.

Kai: rubs soothing circles into Taemin's back.

T: ...

Kai: if you don't mind, can you tell us what you saw..

T: okay. *hiccups*

Kai: breathe 

T: * takes a breath* i was talking to Jonghyun on the phone....

Kai:  yes...

T: I was asking him where he was. and why i have not seen him as often as I used to

Kai: what did he say

T: Jonghyun was and his appartment and wanyted to be alone.

Kai: What next

T: I hung up and rush to his appartment

Kai: ...

T: When i got there he didn't answer the door so i looked for the  spare key.

Kai: Where was it?

T: in the mailbox

Kai: what happened when you opened the door?

T: The was a smoke screen

Kai: huh

T: i got through the smoke screen and found hyung in the living room with a pan of burning coal next to him *taemin starts crying again*

Kai: min-ah if you don't want to continue. you dont have to

T:sobs..

Kai: shh it okay nobody is mad at you.

Key: so did you run and get the exstinguisher and put out the fire

Onew: and did you check to see if he was still breathing and his heart was still beating?

Minho: did you call 911?

Kai: Yes he did

T: how do you all know what happened in my nightmare?

Shinee: we all have had the same one but never really talked about it until now. Kai how do you know wht Taemin's answer was?

Kai: He had the same one last night. he didn't wake up when i pulled him into my embrace.

T: really??

All: yes

T: Pleae don't leave me.

Kai and Shinee: We promise we won't leave you

T: Thank you.  I love you all very much.

Shinee: We love you too.

Kai: I love you too Taemin-ah.
