The hallway was full as usual. There were students walking, some sprinting and others bumping into each other. It had the ever present stench of teenage sweat. Honestly, Mina would rather be anywhere but here. The only reason she stays is for her. Mina has known her all her life and yet, she still leaves Mina breathless with a simple smile. By what Sana and other friends have told her, the feelings seem to be mutual. Mina watches her adorably fidget with her fingers, her nervousness is obvious. Mina smiles and holds her hand, urging her to speak her mind. So, she takes in a deep breath, gathering all the courage she has and asks 

“Mina, I like you. Like a lot, like like like you, you get it right?” She nervously rambles “What I’m trying to ask is, Myoui Mina, will you be my girlfriend?” 

“Of course Momoring!” Mina excitedly replies and hugs her girlfriend.

It feels so good to be with her

They, whoever ‘they’ is, say that high school romances don’t last very long and that the sweethearts are bound to break up in college but Mina doesn’t believe them. Things are going just fine for her and Momo even in their third year in university. Sure, sometimes the two of them fought and sure sometimes the fights were big enough to keep them from looking eye to eye for days but-

“Hey, have I seen you somewhere?” a random mildly inebriated dude asks bringing her back to the reality of being in some dingy frat party as she watches her girlfriend converse almost everyone present “I swear, I know you” 

“I don’t know” Mina nonchalantly replies, choosing to focus more on the blonde singing karaoke. For someone who’s completely wasted, the blonde girl was doing a great job at singing. Now that she thinks of it, the blonde sounds and maybe even looks like the lead singer of the rock band in their university but Mina can’t be too sure, that singer changes the color of her hair every other day. Not minding the boy in front of her, Mina was about to walk towards the girl when Momo, her girlfriend, shows up with an apolegetic smile on her face

“Oh! That’s right!” the boy who was still hanging around her says “You’re Momo’s Mina!”

Guess that’s the result of being in relationship with one of the most popular girls in school.

Mina only gives Momo a tight-lipped smile as she accepts the drink she’s giving her.

She is Momo’s Mina. Everything will be alright

“Mommy! Mama said she’ll come home next week!” Yuki, her eldest said. The adorable four year old (four years and eight months old Yuki would insist) was a lot like Mina. She was smart, reserved and mature for her age. Her love for pink, however, came from Momo. The little girl looked up at her with the most adorable smile while her other mom was still on FaceTime, trying her best to get her attention

“That sounds exciting Yuki-bear” Mina smiles back at her daughter and kneels down to match her height “Okay why don’t go get ready and help Rei tie her shoelaces so we can head out. You don’t wanna be late to the carnival do you?” 

“Nuh uh” Yuki shakes her head and “slow jogs” to her room. Her daughter’s antics amuse Mina, she shakes her head with a smile, nearly forgetting that Momo was still on the other end of the line

“Hey Mina” Momo reminds her of her presence. The atmosphere is awkward to say the least, it has been quite some time since Mina last saw Momo

“Hey Momo” 

“Mina I’m really sorry. I really thought I would make it this week but the concert got delayed and-“

“Momo, you don’t have to explain yourself to me” Mina cuts her off  “Just don’t disappoint the kids. If you can’t make it by next week either, tell me in advance so I can figure something out” 

Momo sighs, not knowing what else to say “Okay” she hangs her head low, unable to face Mina

“Bye Momo”

“Bye Mina” 

Their relationship always did feel too good to be true. When Momo proposed to Mina right after they graduated from university, Mina was ecstatic to get married to her longtime girlfriend/soulmate/the love of her life but they were much too young and very unemployed. Their parents weren’t the biggest fans of them getting married so early but they didn’t deny them either, both the Hirai’s and the Myoui’s were rich enough to back their kids well into their old age and beyond. Married at twenty-two, Momo and Mina Hirai-Myoui had the time of their lives in the first year of their marriage, the world only consisted of the two of them and they loved it. Mina, who majored in interior design, was interning for one of the popular design firms in Korea while Momo, who majored in dance with a minor in business, was trying out several dance groups and she was doing great until she got into an accident and damaged her leg. It wasn’t permanent, Mina thanks all the gods for that, but it was a very tough time for them. The recovery would take over a year during which Momo started working for Myoui enterprises and the two of them decide to have a child. 

When Yuki Hirai-Myoui was born, Mina’s entire world changed. This tiny little human she gave birth to had become her entire world. Everyone at the hospital fell in love with the little angel, Mina doesn’t blame them though. Sana couldn’t stop crying the entire day. The only time she’d smile was when she got to hold the baby. As godmother, they allowed her to suggest a name and when she said ‘Yuki’ Mina couldn’t help but agree. Momo and Mina were constantly around little Yuki, treating her like the little princess she is. Although Momo knew she was the luckiest person in the entire world to be around her two girls, she couldn’t help the constant dissatisfaction she was facing. Dancing was her dream and when she lost that, she felt like she lost a part of herself. Mina knew this, she helped Momo go after her dream again. When Momo fully recovered, she was chosen to be one of the lead dancers in a famous dance group. She’d tour around Korea (and maybe outside Korea too). She felt like herself again. And Mina felt happy again but she could also feel the distance between them growing, not only physically but emotionally too. She started concentrating more on Yuki and developing her own interior design firm. She was proud of the small firm she had established all by herself, though her parents offered to help her financially. Momo made more time for her too, spending more time with her family. They decided to have another baby

Rei Hirai-Myoui’s birth was... chaotic. Everything seemed to be going great until their little bundle of joy had decided to come into the world two months before her due date. Momo was terrified, she was scared for both her wife and child. Apart from the tiny complication that the baby nearly choked to death, everything else went fine after Rei was born and once again, everyone fell in love with another tiny Myoui. The Myoui’s and the Hirai’s spoil their granddaughters a lot, with the Myoui grandparents having an upper hand as they stayed close to the family but the Hirai grandparents compensate by visiting every month with tonnes of gifts. 

The problems between the couple, however, seemed to fluctuate. There were times when everything seemed just fine, then there were times when the two resented each other. When Momo became the choreographer of the dance group, the two thought things could go back to normal, but that never seemed to happen. As of now they were at this awkward juncture where they stalled choosing the inevitable. Mina never really considered divorcing Momo though, she thinks she still loves her but-

“Mommy, we’re ready!” Yuki announces, holding Rei’s tiny hand in her own. Both dressed in a pink shirt and jeans, Rei holding a penguin plushie in her other hand

“Yay mommy!” the two-year-old repeats after her sister. Mina smiles at her two precious babies and reaches out to hold their hands.

This is more than enough

“Mommy and Chaengie got lost” Rei said as she held onto her older sisters hand, the two tiny kids could not see... anything

“Mommy didn’t get lost you dummy, we did” Yuki sighs “This is why you shouldn’t run after balloons” Yuki had to think of a way to get back to their mother but also not talk to any suspicious strangers. That’s when she spots a very tall, pink haired lady walking towards them. ‘I Can trust her’ Yuki decides, and how can she not? The pretty lady has pink hair for gods sake!

“Hey miss” Yuki calls out to the stranger who looks puzzled for a second before she bends down to the kids’ level 

“Uh, what’s up kid?” The woman awkwardly asks 

“Our mommy got lost, can you help us find her?” Rei cutely interrupts and Yuki is pretty sure the lady melted at that

“I need you to carry me on your shoulders, it is a good vantage point to find our mommy” Yuki demands 

“Wow, that’s big word for a kid as small as you” The lady smiles 

“My mommy is an archirekt” Yuki says proudly “Now UP!” The lady lifts Yuki onto her shoulders and carries Rei in one arm, holding onto Yuki’s leg to make sure she doesn’t fall (Yuki makes sure of that by clinging onto the lady’s head)

“What’s your name kid?”

“Mommy told me not to talk to strangers” Yuki replies distractedly while looking for her mommy

“My name Rei!” The two-year-old excitedly tells the lady, and she smiles in return 

“Wow, what a pretty name! Nice to meet you Rei, my name is Jeongyeon” she says “So, where exactly did you guys get separated from your mom?” Jeongyeon asks as she follows Yuki’s orders.
