Chapter 9 ; why, reason, hallway pt II + Yerin It has been a week ever since Yuju's outburst. Everybody is not aware of what happened and we haven't seen each other yet. I am riding a cab while listening to random songs over the radio with the earphones plugged into my ears. I am now on my way to meet them for a simple barbeque party on Eunha's place. Her father suddenly remembered that the girls owe him a barbeque party nefore going to new york. However it had been pushed aside due to conflict in everyone's schedule. Everyone was already there when I arrived. The others are already grilling the meat. Yuju was the first to welcome me with a warm smile as if nothing happened a week ago. Beside Yuju, I saw SinB seriously grilling and cutting the meat, looking like a pro. Eunha and Sowon Eonnie are fixing the drinks while Umji is just sitting and being fed by SinB. Apparently, she isn't feeling very well that's why even though she wanted to help, she is being watched closely by SinB. "Seriously you two, what about us singles that's around you?" Asked Sowon Eonnie. "I don't see why that's our problem." SinB said without even looking. "Eunha Eonnie is there, isn't she, Sowon Eonnie?" Yuju asked and looked at Sowon Eonnie after flipping the meat. Sowon Eonnie glared at her, "Are you implying that I should date Eunha?!" "You're the one who said that, Eonnie." Umji interjected while Yuju chuckled. Oh, me? I am trying to steal a piece of meat. "Don't sound as if you are about to lose your fortune. In fact, if ever, Eunha might work her off feeding you. By the looks of it, your laziness will hinder your chances of graduating this year." SinB said and grinned at Sowon Eonnie. "And I'm quite a catch!" Eunha who was blushing attempted to hit Sowon Eonnie but due to her short arms, she missed. I tried picking a slice of meat but was swatted away by SinB. How exactly in the world is she able to swat my hands away when she's not even looking?! "Shut up Eonnie. I am the catch." Umji said and then SinB whipped her head towards Umji's direction. "Yah. We're talking about Sowon Eonnie's love life!" SinB nagged. Umji's brows furrowed, "Eh, so?" I kept myself from laughing, trying to hold it in. "So? So I want that catch for myself! You're mine!" SinB pouted. "No one's stealing that tiny human from you!" I said and then Umji laughed. SinB rolled her eyes as if saying 'Duh?' "My heart is big you know!" "How is that related?" Yuju asked while placing another set of meat into the grill. "Umji was the only one who fits. Man, she's big!" SinB said in an exagerated manner. We all laughed at that but Yuju handed me the tong and looked at both Sowon Eonnie and Eunha. "Now let's all talk about our newest couple!" Yuju said while pointing at the two. "YAH YUJU!/CHOI YUNA!" Both Eunha and Sowon Eonnie yelled in chorus which caused for all of us to laugh since they are both blushing so hard. SinB teased, "Eyyyy. Just confess already you two!" And that earned her a flick behind her head. Just like that, we prepared and had fun for the rest of the day while the night went as smoothly as possible. Everyone was drunk and have passed out on the living room appart from SinB and I. Umji fell asleep on her lap while hugging her arms and her hair being brushed by SinB. That was my place... before. The rest have fallen asleep. Sowon Eonnie, Yuju and Eunha are all asleep. Yuju leaned against the arm chair and Eunha used Sowon Eonnie's side as her pillow while Sowon Eonnie is fast asleep on the carpet. "Yuju Eonnie told me... about that night." SinB started. "There really was a reason. Am I wrong?" She asked without even looking at me. Just looking at the television and looking for songs to play. "I thought about it for too long. Unless you are plain heartless, you wouldn't do that without a reason. And I know you." She said and finally looked at me. "Or maybe not." She smiled. The kind of smile that is genuine. That's the thing about SinB. Most of the time, her sarcasm and sincerity sounds the same. It's up to you if how you'll feel towards it. And this time, I know. It is genuine. My heart rate increased.
