Chapter 1
The Stalker“Oh .” I heard Junhoe muttered under his breath as he whipped his cellphone out of his pocket. He pulled me into a hug as if he was protecting me from someone as he screamed at his phone. I figured out that it was his driver he was calling. As he ended the call, he whispered something to me.
“Rose, we need to get out of here. Just remember—don’t ever let go of my hand.”
I nodded almost immediately. I didn’t even know what to do. So I just held Junhoe’s hand and tightened my grip as if my life depended on it.
We began to walk towards the opposite direction, each step taken faster than the previous ones. We wanted to hurry, but at the same time we didn’t want to show that we were almost panicking.
Considering that the street was all packed—it was a great challenge for us to even walk against the flow. But Junhoe pushed the people just for us to get through. And after a long battle, I finally reached the end of the parade—and Junhoe’s car was waiting for us.
Junhoe pushed me inside the car before he got in himself. He barked at his driver and told him to drive home as fast as he could.
“I knew this was a bad idea. I shouldn’t have said yes when you begged me to have a date. Rosie, it’s only been a month since your stalker attacked you!” Junhoe barked at me.
I felt my eyes began to water not because of the thought of having a stalker watching me around but because it was the first time I saw Junhoe mad at me. I knew that he was just concerned for me but I couldn’t help but feel scared.
I brought my palms to my face and I started to bawl. In between my cries, I muttered sorry over and over again.
Then, I felt two arms s around me. My head was rested on Junhoe’s chest and I could hear how fast his heartbeat was. At the same time, I could hear my heart beat so loud. His action surprised me.
