“Jamie, did you hear?” Her friend asked, earning herself a glare.

“Of course I did.” Jamie pouted, leaning over on her desk. She tried channeling her sadness to anger; although, it wasn’t working as well as she had hoped. After Rose and Jungkook got together, that was all she ever heard about. It was like the world revolved around them. They even had the audacity to smile when she was around, even though they both know exactly how she feels.

She abruptly got up from her chair and walked out of the classroom. Her group of friends exchanged worried looks but decided to leave her alone.

Jamie ran to the bathroom, shut the stall door behind her, and leaned against the wall. Don’t cry! She internally screamed, but the tears still came out. Her heart felt like it was broken into a million pieces. The fact that she had to be around them sickened her even more.

I was here first. She lightly punched the wall. Why can’t it be me? She took in a few deep breaths and wiped away the tears. She took out a mirror she had in her pocket and touched up her make up. She walked out of the stall as if nothing had happened. 

And just like clockwork, she caught a glimpse of Jungkook and Rose walking happily together. Jamie rolled her eyes and walked straight back to class.

The day was slow and seemed like it was going to last forever. Jamie really didn’t feel like talking to anyone, so she didn’t. She decided to lay low for a week or so, just so eve
