“So what? It’s not like I’m going to go anywhere else in the house, we can stay in your room.” Dahyun said. She looked at Sana, she seemed worried and sad. “Sana It’s ok, I promise, your parents won’t know I’m here.” Dahyun heard Sana whisper something under her breathe. “What?” Dahyun saw a tear run down Sana’s cheek. “I said they aren’t my real parents.” Dahyun was shocked and confused. “What? What do you mean?” Dahyun asked. “I’m adopted.” Sana looked at the floor. “That doesn’t matter, people will still except you, being adopted doesn’t define you, it just means that more people love you.” Dahyun tried to explain to Sana that she’s still her friend and that nothing has changed the way she feels about her. “Thank you but that’s not true.” Sana looked at Dahyun. “What do you mean, of course it is.” Dahyun replied. “They don’t love me, I don’t know why they adopted me, but I know it wasn’t because they wanted a daughter.” Sana was now crying and Dahyun didn’t know what to do. “I’m sure that’s not true.” Dahyun tried comforting her. “Did you forget that my foster dad hit me?” Sana had constant tears streaming down her face. “No, I didn’t, but we already talked about that.” Dahyun answered. “No, he hit me because I took glee and stayed late after school.” Sana seemed frustrated. “Look, if that’s really true then we should tell my dad, he’ll know what to do.” Dahyun took out her phone but before she could dial any number, Sana’s father came into the room.
