FOUR – The Three Girls

That was the year Jisoo met her two best friends. She had been a trainee for five years and this year, she’s going to start living in the dormitory. It’s not too long before one of them joined her.

Yoo Jungyeon, that’s her name.

Jisoo had watched her during her audition; actually she had been watching most of the auditions since she became a trainee. When Jungyeon won, Jisoo cheered for her; and when she’s informed that Jungyeon will be joining her in her dormitory. Jisoo smiled so bright the staff can’t help but laughed.

Although, similar aged trainees are joining, it’s another thing for a similar age female trainee to be joining them, her. Just a few months ago, two boys won the audition and is part of her training team now. They’ve talked a few times, Jaebum and Jinyoung, but it’s still weird since Jisoo had found Jaebum a little scary.

So, when Jungyeon finally arrived at their dorm, Jisoo already had her room cleaned and tidied. Because they are the only ones for now, they each have their own room.

The two girls stood there in silent, trying to come up with ways to start a conversation after Jungyeon closed the door behind her.

“Well…” The both of them started at the same time, laughing a little after.

“I shall start first?” Jisoo gave Jungyeon a small smile and continued, “I’m Park Jisoo, 14 years old!”

Jungyeon nodded and smiled too.

“I’m Yoo Jungyeon, 14 years old too.”

“I know, I’ve been watching your performances.”

That was the two girls’ first conversation. It got a little less awkward as Jisoo showed Jungyeon her room, which Jungyeon is very impressed at how Jisoo had tidied her room for her. It was the start of a very supporting friendship for each other.

Jisoo had been the one who showed Jungyeon around the company. It’s not that the building is that big but it’s still confusing for any new trainee since they’ve different practice rooms and some with different purposes. And, now that 2AM and 2PM had debuted, they have their own practice room for them to focus on their practicing. Especially when a comeback is near.

Wonder Girls were in the U.S. at the time Jungyeon joined; she was a little sad about it since she won’t be able to watch them practice. But Jisoo had been sharing with her on the previous five years of her training life.

Like how when she threw a bag at Taecyeon oppa and he’s still holding a grudge on that. Or when she peeked into Wonder Girls’ practice room because they were so beautiful. Other times, Jisoo will tell Jungyeon that it’s great to finally have someone of her age with her. Everyone had been treating her like the baby she was when she first joined, but it’s been five years! She will always complain and Jungyeon will laugh in amusement.

For the first six month, it’s always just the two of them. Since they are the only girls of their training class. Throughout those six months, the boys’ team had a few new additions. Four of them had already form a band by themselves. Sometimes Jisoo and Jungyeon will watch them during their casual practice with the other boys.

However this time, the new addition from this round of audition is finally a female and they’ve a little information on her since they’ve been watching the auditions. When they’ve gotten the date on when their new roommate is joining, Jisoo and Jungyeon tidied her room together.

And finally, that day arrived. The day their new addition will be joining them and they’re both excited and nervous. When the doorbell rang, the two of them stood up immediately and Jisoo watched Jungyeon opened the door, since she’s nearer.

“Hello…?” The girl whom they already know is called Im Nayeon walked in, a bright smile on her face.

“Hello, are you Nayeon?” Jungyeon smiled nervously, closing the door behind them then walked up to where Jisoo is.

“Oh you guys are informed?” Nayeon smiled even brighter. “I’m Nayeon, Im Nayeon! And according to the unnies, I will be sharing the dorm with you!”

Jungyeon and Jisoo glanced at each other with an amused look on their face. It seems like things are going to get a little noisy.

And, they are right.

Nayeon is one year older than they are but she had never expected them to really take note of the honorifics. To her, they are all friends and roommates and that’s probably how she blended in really well with the two girls.

It was really easy for Jungyeon and Jisoo to talk to Nayeon since most of the time, Nayeon will be doing the talking. Their way to school had not been quiet ever since Nayeon’s arrival. In the past, both Jungyeon and Jisoo will have quiet conversations and if they were lack of sleep, they will just walk side by side in silence. However, now that Nayeon is here, she will be rambling non-stop about anything. Sometimes those two wonder where did Nayeon get her energy.

When they’re alone in their dorm, the three girls will sometimes huddle together on one of their beds and talk about random things.

Sometimes, Nayeon will get curious about their trainee life before she came. Especially with Jisoo, she will just throw a question at her randomly that sometimes, it took Jisoo some time to react. Other time, they will end up talking about the boys whom they trained together because of the questions Nayeon asked them.

“Has Jaebum always look this scary?” She blurted out once during the first month of her stay. Jungyeon, who’s sitting on the floor, stifled a laugh back at her question but answered her anyway.

“He does look scary, at least we were both scared to approach him at first. But he can have fun too, I guess?” Jungyeon shrugged and Jisoo nodded along, her body leaning against the wall while she sat beside Nayeon on the bed.

Nayeon kept quiet for a while after Jungyeon’s question as the three girls sip on their fruit juice.

“What about those foreign trainees? What are their names again?”

“Mark and Bambam?”

“Right!” Nayeon nodded enthusiastically, “Does Mark not know our language? The half mute guy, he’s Mark right?”

This time, Jihyo was the one who choked on her drink as she tried to hold back her laugh at how Nayeon described Mark. She explained to her that his Korean standard is actually better than Bambam despite him joining later than him.

“Then why is Bambam so noisy?”

That did it, the other two girls burst into a soft fit of laughter at Nayeon’s words in which she just glanced at the both of them, not able to understand what was so funny about her question.

Eventually, the three girls got closer to the other boys and sometimes, they almost wish that Nayeon and Bambam never met. Because those two talk too much, it’s hard to even stop them. But other times, it’s also really fun to have them around when their training gets a little tough.

I've decided to update a little more now. It used to be scheduled for Tuesdays only but I've figured why not just write when I feel like it. I had it planned anyway? So yes, 3mix are introduced. I might have assumed that it's just this three. There are probably other girls too but, let's be honest, we are all here to read about our idols. Beside, if you've forgotten, this is made up and I'm trying my best to make it seem as real as possible.

This marks the fourth chapter of this series. The introductory stage is just left with two more chapters and we will be going into their trainee life. Again, these are series of one shot, the timeline is jumbled up if you haven't realised from the previous chapters. But I just want to remind you guys.
