Chapter 2
Confessions and DoubtsAfter that eventful day, Minkyung couldn't really talk to Yebin for a few days. Yebin was gone when Minkyung woke up and didn't come home until very late. On the rare occasions Minkyung saw Yebin, Yebin had immediately averted eye contact and continued talking to her newfound friends or busied herself with chores she had never done before.
Minkyung was fed up with Yebin and decided to calm down by going drinking. She went to the nearby cart bar and ordered a bottle of soju (distilled spirit). Just as she downed her second shot, Yebin came out of nowhere and sat in front of her. Yebin grabbed the bottle of soju and started drinking straight from the bottle.
Minkyung was appalled. She snatched the bottle and broke. "What are you doing? You confess, you don't talk to me, and now?"
"You shouldn't drink so much."
"What does it matter to you? I thought you didn't care about me anymore?"
Yebin bit her lower lip and frowned. "I think I'm still your best friend."
Minkyung sighed through gritted teeth. "Why aren't you talking to me?"
"I thought that you might hate me."
"What? I'll never hate you. You're my best friend." Minkyung tried to make eye contact with Yebin as she spoke softly.
Yebin couldn't look at Minkyung. "That's the thing. I don't want us to just be best friends."
Minkyung was silent as she contemplated the meaning of the statement. Meanwhile, Yebin had already ordered 2 more bottles of soj
