A/N: Just wanted to say that this is Sooyoung's story now, if you have skipped the foreword (THIS IS GOING TO BE LONG ASF. I'M SORRY)

"SOOYOUNG!!! YOU ALWAYS GET YOUR CLOTHES DIRTY!! UGH!" She heard her mother shout from outside her room

She flinched when she heard the loud banging from outside her room, she was only 8 at the time

Too scared to face her mom or even argue with her "Stop shouting at Sooyoung! She's just a kid! Kids always get their clothes dirty" She heard her dad defend her

Her mom scoffed then another banging sound was heard, "Just talk to her calmly! Not shouting at her!!" Her dad shouted at her mother

She felt relieved whenever her dad defends her from her mom, she doesn't want to get hit by any object that could be used to hit against her skin

She shivers at the thought of her mom barging into her room, holding an object that she'll use to hit her mercilessly

Someone banged on her door, she knew that it was her mom - her father could never do that. Ever

"IF I EVER SEE ANY OF YOUR CLOTHES DIRTY AGAIN- I WON'T EVER LET YOU OUT OF THAT ROOM" Her mother warned, as if saying "I'm going to kill you" without saying it directly

Sooyoung felt tears threaten to fall out of her eyes as she heard what her mother said- she seriously wanted to run away from her home

But with her dad of course- but she knew that her dad would never leave her mother no matter what. He loves his wife so much that he can't leave her even if she's like that to their child Whenever her father is out for work, her mom would get angry at nothing and would hit her

Hit her so many times, causing her to have bruises on her skin. Leaving marks, some are fresh bruises- she was hit again three days ago, and now she's expecting to get hit again later-

Sooyoung describes her house as hell - with a little bit of Heaven when her father is there

All she wanted to do right now is run away, or hide in her friend's house. She suddenly heard a car outside

She looked out the window, seeing how her father's car is slowly coming out of the garage. She already knows that she's in trouble

On times like this, she just escapes through her room window then running towards one of her friend's house- The Jung's house

Hurriedly knocking on the door. She stopped when the door opened.

"Youngie" Sooyoung smiled upon hearing her friend

"You should've hit her with the pillow!" Sooyoung laughed as her friend used a pillow to hit the air, "Like this.. !!"

"Jinsoul! Don't play with the pillows!" Jinsoul's mom yelled from outside her room

The kid stops and sits down, "Okay~" she said with a cute voice. "You're lucky that your mom doesn't hit you"

"She does! Well, sometimes!...She said moms do that all the time" Her little friend smiled

"Mom said that's how they show their love- but I don't know what they mean. I guess...hitting someone shows how they love someone"

They fell silent, but then Jinsoul softly hits Sooyoung on the shoulder- Sooyoung flinched and frowned at Jinsoul

"What are you doing -!" She said with a pout

"I hit you! It means I love you!" Sooyoung pinched the other's cheeks "That's not how it works!" Jinsoul laughs then stood

"Want to play with Wonnie?" Sooyoung stood and nodded with a wide smile

"Wonnie ~" Sooyoung says in a singsong tone while entering another room

A room where it's full of toys, and has a lot of butterfly posters on the wall

There, a three year old baby girl is playing with her toys, a baby that Jinsoul had always protected

Jinsoul and Sooyoung both entered with a wide smile. Jinsoul walked towards the baby and sat beside her- patting her head

Sooyoung followed, sitting in front of them

The baby slowly looked at Sooyoung then slowly smiled. Sooyoung giggled and caressed the baby's soft cheek

"Can she walk now?" Sooyoung asked- turning her attention towards her friend

"She can if she wants to... But mom said she's too lazy to walk" They both giggled as the little one stares at them

"But can she at least talk?" Jinsoul shrugged, "I guess? I sometimes hear her whispering words that I don't understand"

"She has her own language!" Sooyoung laughed, softly patting the baby's head

"Sooyoung!" Jinsoul and Sooyoung turned their head towards the door as they both heard Jinsoul's mom call for Sooyoung

Jinsoul frowned, then looked at Sooyoung "Your mom's here!" Sooyoung froze, she knows what's going to happen when she goes home with her mom

She knows that she's gonna be helpless when she goes home. She's gonna get no mercy when she goes home

She slowly turned to look at Jinsoul and forced a smile even though her eyes already had tears in it

"Youngie–" Jinsoul reached her hand out, but Sooyoung shook her head. "I'm fine" she stood then went outside

Forcing a smile as she saw Jinsoul's mom. "Come home now" Her mom said with a calm voice

Trying to look as if she isn't going to hurt her only daughter that didn't do anything wrong

Jinsoul was looking down from up the stares, holding her little sister close to her She knows what's going to happen when Sooyoung goes home, she knows that she'll see her friend with bruises again- she didn't want that

But she can't do anything to stop her friend's mom, she's a kid- she doesn't know what to do

And so she stands helplessly while watching her friend get dragged out of their house -

The sound of a belt hitting against someone's skin was heard followed by a yell every time the belt hits the skin

"I'VE TOLD YOU NOT TO DISOBEY MY ORDERS!" Her mom shouts as she gets hit again.

She screamed in pain, her arm was now swollen and is very red. Though her mom doesn't seem to care

Her other arm however is now bleeding, since the metal on the belt was what hit her other arm

Tears didn't stop from running down her cheek, as she kept crying and screaming. Screaming for her mother to stop

Begging, telling her that she wouldn't do it again- she was only 8, a kid. A kid who's abused by her own mother

Her mother stops hitting her with the belt and now she was slapped, on both cheek. Her scream were now louder than before as her mom did not show mercy on her

Hitting her non stop while shouting words at her, shouting curse words at her

And she knew she'd stop crying and screaming "stop" when her mom gets tired of it and locks her up and wouldn't even bother to give her food

She fell asleep thinking that things wouldn't get more worse when she woke up by a loud sound

Things breaking - breaking from being thrown into a wall or something

Sooyoung slowly sat up from her bed, she felt like her body was gonna break as soon as she stood up

Slowly making her way towards her window where Jinsoul's house could be seen outside in front of her own- the lights inside the house were on

Crashing noises were heard inside the house, like a plate or a glass shattering to pieces as it is thrown away

She listened to the sound as she now hear loud voices coming from outside, then silence

Sooyoung thought it was over but then she saw the front door of her friend's house open, Jinsoul's mom walks out holding lots of bags in hand

She looked like she was beaten up because of how her hair was so messed up and how she looked like she was punched and slapped.

Jinsoul's mom goes back in then backs out with Jinsoul's little sister, being carried out

Sooyoung then saw her friend run outside while crying. Sooyoung's brows furrowed as she continues to watch

Her friend was crying outside while pulling her mom back in the house

Sooyoung couldn't help but feel worried, she wanted to escape through her window again- but she knows she couldn't do that anymore

She felt bad- felt bad for not going out there to help her dear friend.

For just watching her friend cry while her friend's mother walks away with her little sister

Jinsoul's dad comes into view and kneels down to hug Jinsoul. Sooyoung felt so sad at what she's seeing

She's seeing her friend getting abandoned by her mother- at night. She's seeing her friend cry helplessly just like what she did hours ago

She's seeing her friend kneeling ln the grass as she cries

She stepped away from the window and slowly went back to her bed, she didn't want to worry about anything and so she tried to sleep again

Covering her ears to block away the loud cries of her friend from outside.

That night- she lost a friend

Sooyoung woke up the next morning, hearing birds tweeting from outside her window

Seeing as the ray of sunlight goes inside her room, making the room look like the light was on

She slowly sat up, still feeling the pain that had never left her body

Groaning softly each time she makes a move-

She slowly stretched her arms up in the air while yawning-

She stood and slowly made her way downstairs, she was expecting to see her mother sitting alone in the living while drinking tea or watching Tv

But she was not there, only her dad "W-where's mom?" She asked, her father hummed "She went to buy groceries- told me not to let you out the house but.. "

He paused,

"I won't treat you like how she treats you" Her dad smiles and so did she

"Can I play outside?" Her dad smiled widely and nodded

She pulled the door open, and stepped outside. She was scared- a bit. Thinking that her mom will see her

But she steps out, and looks at the house across her. The window was broken, shattered glass were scattered in the porch

The door has cracks on it, it looks like it was attacked by bandits

Sooyoung then frowns, usually the house would look lively- with Jinsoul sitting outside, smiling while playing with her toys

She doesn't see any signs of her friend, she doesn't feel like someone is inside that house

And so she went to her other friend's house instead, she would have to walk for 10 minutes to arrive at her friend's house but it was okay for her

She stops and stood in front of her friend's house. The Cho's house She held up her hand and knocked on the door, Haseul opened the door and smiled widely "Youngie!!" She hugged her tight

Sooyoung groaned, feeling the pain in her body but did not dare to tell her friend that it hurts

"You came early!" Sooyoung smiled and nodded, "Are you allowed to go outside?" Haseul nodded

Sooyoung quickly took her friend's hand and pulled her outside, "Wai- where are we going-?"

Her friend asked, "Jinjin's!" She shouted, Haseul pulled her to stop. "What? Why?"

She asked "Mom said, she's not there anymore. Mom said she went on a vacation" Haseul said with a wide smile. Sooyoung frowned

She was obviously confused, "But.."

"Sooyoung!!" Both of them turned their heads to the road and saw Sooyoung's mom making her way towards the both of them

Her friend looked at her with a worried look and she just smiled bitterly, she was close to crying again

In one swift move her mom had pulled her away from Haseul, while her friend watched her get dragged back to her house

"And then we never saw her...until now" Sooyoung said as she eyes Jinsoul who raised both of her eyebrows at Sooyoung

"And you're saying, that this childhood friend of yours.. is me" Jinsoul asked as she crossed her arms

Sooyoung nodded, "You don't have proof, you don't even know who I am" Jinsoul raised her eyebrow

Haseul facepalmed, "Ugh.. " She muttered

"You have the same name! And—"

"Everyone could be named 'Jinsoul'! I'm not the only person who's named Jinsoul" she scoffed

Sooyoung really wanted to smack the out of the student in front of her. "You mean it's only a coincidence that you and my childhood friend are both named 'Jung Jinsoul'??? And is born at the same ing day and month??"

Jinsoul nodded. Sooyoung swore she was going to smack her right there

She stood and was ready to smack the girl on the head but was held down by Haseul

Jinsoul chuckled then stood, "You know, sometimes I would be joking...like right now" she said then smiled and left

"That ing son of a— Argh!"

She was cut off when Haseul pinched her side

Sooyoung felt happy, knowing that her long lost childhood friend isn't suffering from loneliness that much

It took them weeks to crack Jinsoul's cold attitude. Nonetheless they succeeded tho and for Sooyoung that's what matters

She found out that Jinsoul was kind of an.. Airhead- not that she hates it but it just makes her friend look naive and... Pretty much a

But her dumbness is too hilarious to see so she doesn't mind that

Also, Haseul always scolds Jinsoul for doing those stupid things

Though Jinsoul is getting friendly day by day - that's a good thing

Jinsoul met a kid in their school, a kid that Jinsoul treated like her little sister since the first time that they've met

Her name is Choi Yerim, a walking, talking ball of sunshine

Jinsoul was with Sooyoung at the time when Sooyoung first met Yerim at the park, she met Yerim when the younger one was trying to chase a 'black bird'

"It's a black bird-" Jinsoul said when she held the 'bird'

"Jinsoul, that's a ing bat!" Sooyoung shouted from a far

"It's a bat~" The younger one said as she pointed at what Jinsoul was holding up

"It looks pretty!" Jinsoul said at the smaller one

"It is not! Put it down, Jinsoul!" Sooyoung shouted again

Finally Jinsoul put down the poor creature and it flew away

"Bye bye~" the small girl beside Jinsoul waved at the bat with a wide smile

Sooyoung then approached both of them, ready to scold Jinsoul

"Wooooh~ Student council president!" The girl who was standing beside Jinsoul turned to look at her and smiled

Sooyoung swore that she thought she was about to get blinded by the sparkling aura that the younger gives

Sooyoung also felt like she had seen the girl before. "Uh.. Have we met before?" Sooyoung asked as the younger nodded vigorously

"I'm Choi Yerim! I go to the same school as you! Pres!" She smiled and so did Sooyoung

Sooyoung was very surprised to hear that Yerim is Jinsoul's friend

"We met in the library!" She remembered Yerim telling her

She also found out that Yerim was really popular at their school, but she didn't know why she doesn't know the girl

She had seen her on the halls before but didn't really know much about her

Tho Sooyoung felt happy whenever she's around her friends, especially when Yerim is with them- it gets noisy

But she likes it

She loves them, and doesn't want to lose any of them

Sooyoung went to school, earlier than the others as usual- but some students are there before her

 

She was surprised to see some of the students

 

She never really expected to see someone in school at such an early hour— but she doesn't care

 

She tried walking pass those students but she wasn't able to avoid their morning greet

 

Finally 'escaping' from those students, she stopped in front of her locker– she slowly opened it

 

Letters slowly falling out of it. She wasn't surprised. She's had so many of those that she doesn't even know how many of it has she thrown away

 

She picked up all of the letters that had fallen out of her locker and shoved them inside her bag

 

She took all the things she needed- but the letters aren't a part of those things that she needed.

 

She unlocked the student council office and sat down on one of the chairs, sighing

"When will they stop this..?" She scoffed, "I'm getting tired on saying 'no'... Aish"

She lied her head on the table and slowly reached inside her bag, she reached for the letters

 

Even though she was getting tired on saying "no" every time a student confesses- she doesn't get tired on reading the letters one by one

 

Even if she felt evil and stuff, she reads it to just laugh at it and then throwing it away after

 

She still meets up with her admirers tho, just to tell them that she isn't interested

While reading those letters, one letter caught her attention. It was a surprise since she never really felt interested in any letter before

 

The letter was simple like the other letters but- something was written on it that just made her feel very curious

 

At the very bottom.

 

The name of the sender was.. Crossed out, Sooyoung was beyond confused.

 

'Who would cross their name out in a letter??' She thought. Now this just started to become a searching game

 

She scoffed and just put the letter aside, continuing to read the other letters lying on her desk

"Good morning~" The door opened, the vice president- Kahei came in

 

Sooyoung smiled widely at the girl, "Good morning, Vivi unnie"

 

The girl came in to sit down beside Sooyoung, "I thought I told you not to call me 'unnie' anymore" Sooyoung giggled at the girl

 

"I respect old people, Vivi" She joked as the older one pouted but then laughed along with her

 

Vivi then noticed the letters that Sooyoung rested on the desk, "Love letters again?" Vivi raised her eyebrows at Sooyoung as the girl sighed and nodded

"Yeah.. Didn't know that reading letters everyday could be soooooo tiring!" She joked again but then became serious

She sighed, "I just want them to stop, this is ACTUALLY getting on my nerves now"

Sooyoung stood as she heard the bell rang. It's lunch time

 

All her thoughts are now flooded with delicious food that she wants to eat But she has to go to the school garden first, it was about the letters. A confession at lunch

 

She sighed as she made her way outside. Slowly walking towards the school garden, there aren't many students hanging around there yet

 

Almost all of the students don't really hang there- all because of the insects

 

She sat down at the base of a tree in the garden. She sits there every time when she has to wait

 

She slowly leaned her head against the tree behind her and closed her eyes. It was very peaceful on that spot

 

It was peaceful until something fell and hit her head, "Ow!" She winced as she saw an apple sitting beside her

 

She frowned and slowly raised her hand to reach for the apple. "Hold up, Ms. President!" Someone spoke from above her

 

'Ms. President' Sooyoung wanted to scoff at the weird name

She stopped reaching for the apple and looked up, she saw a girl hop off of the tree and took the apple that had fallen on her head

 

"Sorry, it's for my friend" The girl plainly said without even showing any emotions. The girl looked unfamiliar, 'she might be the new student' Sooyoung thought

 

The girl looked like a cat with dark hair, Sooyoung could feel that the girl is.. Empty

 

"...Are students not allowed to climb the trees..?" The girl asked as she tilted her head to the side

 

Sooyoung stared for a bit before standing up and shaking her head, "Uh..No.. I mean Yes! But don't worry. It's no big deal- as long as you won't fall from it" Sooyoung smiled as she reached her hand out to the student

The girl looked at her with confusion, "I think I just needed to introduce myself" Sooyoung said awkwardly

"No need. The name's Kim" She said

 

"Kim..?" Sooyoung asked

 

The girl was about to continue but was cut off when another voice was heard, "Oh, There you are!" Sooyoung turned her head towards the voice

She saw a small girl with cute bangs, Sooyoung find her very adorable

'Is she the one that sent the letter??' Sooyoung thought as she started to panic.. A bit

 

She didn't expect to see a very cute girl, but her thoughts were cut off when the girl reached for the other's hand

 

Her eyes widened and so did the Kim girl's eyes

"Let's go!" The girl with bangs exclaimed a she tugged Kim away

"Uh.. Who are you again?" Kim asked while squinting her eyes "Ugh, Jeez Hyunjin.. We're like neighbors! And you still don't know me! Let's just go– Yeojin's waiting for that apple"

 

Sooyoung just watched them. And when they were done talking the girl with bangs looked at Sooyoung. Sooyoung flinched as she met her gaze, the girl smiled and bowed "Excuse us, Pres!" She then pulled Hyunjin away as the girl being pulled slightly bowed at Sooyoung

 

'Well.. That was.. Interesting..' Sooyoung thought, forgetting about the person who's supposed to confess to her

 

She ceased the place as soon as she turned her admirer down.. Well nicely— and followed the two girls that she had met, just moments ago

 

She was interested, for the first time in her life she was very interested in the small girl with bangs

"How could I skip over a student THAT pretty" she mumbled when she was eating with her friends inside the office.

 

"Uh.. What?" Haseul ask as she looked at Sooyoung with curious eyes, "Oh.. It's nothing"

"You say that it's nothing.. Yet you keep mumbling that same sentence while going through that folder" Jinsoul raised an eyebrow at her friend

 

Sooyoung could feel that Jinsoul was teasing her, "Oh shut it and eat your sandwich" she scoffed as the younger girl chuckled

"Who are you looking for?" Yerim went closer to Sooyoung and looked at what Sooyoung was looking at, "I might help you! I at least know a lot of people in this school!" Yerim beamed

 

The older one smiled at Yerim and unconsciously patted her head "Ok, let's see if you could really help me"

 

"But... How could she help you?" Vivi who was quietly eating her food then suddenly asked

 

Everyone went silent as they all felt dumb at Vivi's question. "Right... I forgot about that" Sooyoung mumbled

"WAIT!! JUST DESCRIBE WHAT THE STUDENT LOOKS LIKE!!!" Yerim suddenly stood from her seat and startled everyone

"Well ok.. She.. Has bangs" Sooyoung slowly said

Before Yerim could even try and guess the student's name, they heard a knock and the door slowly opened

Revealing a small girl with a wide smile- holding a lot of paper "Hello~" the girl softly greeted

Yerim jumped and hugged the girl, "CHUU!!" She yelled as the girl named 'chuu' giggled

Sooyoung looked at the small girl and her eyes widened 'WAIT.. IT'S—'

"Hello! I'm sorry for the intrusion! I'm Kim Jiwoo, i'm just here to give these papers to you– President~" She smiled as she rested all the paper on their table

Sooyoung was so focused on the girl's face, yes, she was so pretty and that Sooyoung couldn't help but stare "Uh.. Yeah.. Thanks" she said- more like mumble

Jiwoo smiled widely at Sooyoung, then slightly bowed, "I'll have to go now, bye~" she smiled at everyone of them before leaving the room

Poor Sooyoung, wasn't even able to hear what the girl was saying "Yah, yah. Are you alive?" Haseul poked Sooyoung's cheek

She blinked and suddenly stood, startling Haseul and Jinsoul. "I'M. SO. GAY"

"Oh....So you say.. That you're attracted to that cute little student?" Sooyoung nodded as Jinsoul looked amazed "One of your admirers?"

"..No.. She's not.." sooyoung slowly said, "Never thought you'd fall in love with someone just at first sight" Jinsoul said

They were both looking outside the window, Sooyoung watching the girl she likes. Jinsoul was beyond sad

She haven't seen her 'one&only' while Sooyoung found hers without looking for them

She could see Sooyoung melting, "She's too cute.." Sooyoung mumbled "You've fallen deep" Jinsoul rolled her eyes and left her friend alone

Honestly Sooyoung wouldn't know what to do to make the girl hers, she doesn't know anything about courting

She went home to her own house, yes her 'own' house. Her father thought Sooyoung is old enough to live on her own, so her mother agreed without hesitation

But the truth is - that was just an alibi for Sooyoung to get away from her horrible mother
