The main character of the story. Ten years ago, Choi Seunghyun witnessed the death of Han Minkyoung, his late girlfriend, which scarred him even up until now. In order to search for the murderer, he dropped out of Med School and started to study Forensics Science. He is now working as one of the forensics investigator in Seoul Police Department. Living alone in an apartment, calm and logical, Choi Seunghyun is not the kind of person to strike up conversations, but the kind of man with many hidden emotions, easily dumbfounded when dealing with socially awkward situations. The only people who knows about his reason to join the force are those who are close to him.

The main female protagonist in the story. Park Jiyeon is a new recruit at Seoul Police Department, having freshly graduated from the Administration School. She works as a Police Secretary, thinking that police offices will bring her much more excitement than your regular office cubicle. Has a brother whom she lives with in a little house, though he is rarely home. A bit careless when it comes to her surroundings, which results in her bad sense of directions, but very organized when it comes to planning schedules and cleaning up the house. Brings an agenda and a stationery set wherever she goes, also collects stickers. Fierce and stubborn, rumored to have been involved in gangster activities when she was still in high school.

Choi Seunghyun's late college girlfriend. Murdered during one of their dates. Little is known about her since she was very secretive when she was alive. What is apparent is that she loved Choi Seunghyun to the extent that she made him love her enough to vow to marry her after college. If only she was still alive, none of this would happen.

The one responsible for Han Minkyoung's death and the person Choi Seunghyun is determined to track down. His whereabouts are still unknown to Seunghyun even after these ten years. The only thing that could identify him is a baekjung mask he wore when he shot Han Minkyoung to death. But that could just be about anyone...

CHARACTER FILES: OTHER CHARACTERS

A middle-aged woman with a sharp tongue, Lee Hyori is quite possibly the fiercest (and the only) woman ever to be granted the title Chief of Police in the history of Seoul Police Department. But she didn't get it for nothing, she had worked her off for twenty years as a policewoman just to show the former chiefs what she's capable of. Top of the class in police academy, earned countless Medal of Honors, and received quite a few injuries during her duties. She's the real wonderwoman. Oh, and she is married to the owner of a small Tae Kwon Do academy by the name of Jeong Jihoon. Big achievements, humble life. Flawless.

Still full of young spirit, Kwon Jiyong is Choi Seunghyun's best friend. In fact, they've known each other since before they were in the force. He attended Police Academy long before Seunghyun joined, it was his dream since childhood to become the coolest detective, and he lived up to it. Known for his quick way of thinking and his skills in deducing a crime, he did not spend all those years applying as a patrol officer and devoted his school life to read books about crime, law enforcements, and justice for nothing. He loves doing what he does, and he does it well.
