"I have never felt this way before in my life!" Sulli groaned and gulped a mouthful of a beer in her hand. She and Sehun were in her house as she downed her sorrow on him. "Sehun, I like him. More than like him though." Sehun nodded and he squeezed her hand in comfort. For once, he didn't seem to know what to say to make his friend feel better. "He's smart, he's sweet, he's gorgeous… And he's a great kisser. The best." Sehun was at a loss for words. Sulli left him speechless. "What am I going to do?" Sulli groaned despairingly. "He kissed me like he really cared. You know, like he…likes me too." She sighed despondently and continued worriedly, "I'm telling you Sehun, there is something off with the dynamics of Yoona and Minho's relationship." "Like what?" "Well, they appear to be a normal couple but based on my experience, couples usually prefer to do things together." Explained Sulli. "They don't?" "I know both have very busy schedules and are using every spare time they have for their wedding preparations but they rarely find time to be at appointments together. Like yesterday, Yoona went to Daegu while Minho was at the food tasting with me." "And at his house. Kissing you. Muddling your brain." Sehun added. "But I think they're using their time wisely." Sulli gave him a look and grimaced. "Oh Sehun, usually couples prefer to do their wedding preparations together! Later in the week, I'll be accompanying to check out the wine shops for the party favors and help him choose items for their wedding registry. Yoona should be doing this with him. Not me!" "Hmmm..." Sehun has his thinking cap on and Sulli could practically see the wires turning in his head. "They have affection for each other, I can see that. But there is something missing. They don't have…spark." Sulli paused. "Much like you and me." "Is it a marriage of convenience?" "I don't know." Sulli replied sullenly. "It's not really my business to know." "What are you going to do?" "Make sure all goes well. Remain professional, keeping myself from pouncing on him." Sulli replied wryly, downing the remaining liquid in her can of beer. "I'll probably let one of the associated team assist Choi Minho from now on. A repeat of the kiss won't be a good idea." Yes, Sulli thought, The Kiss. The most wonderful kiss she had ever experienced. A kiss, she wasn't likely to experience ever again. She could cry a river for the loss. "I think…" Sehun's brows furrowed in concentration. "Obviously, you two are attracted to each other. More than that, he may have a thing for you." Sulli's eyes saucered at the statement. "A thing for me?" "I could see last time that he didn't like finding out I was your ex-boyfriend. Of course he tried hard to hide it." Said Sehun. "Yes, definitely, he has a thing for you." Sulli stared at him, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. Her heart feeling as if it was being squeezed like a piece of lemon. "That's not going to make any difference." She said sadly. "I am not stealing anyone's fiancé." Sulli received voice messages and she opened it. When she recognized his voice, she stared at her phone with anguish. Minho had been calling her and leaving messages. "Sulli, if you're there please pick up my call. I…we need to talk…I can't…" She heard him sigh. Minho sounded as broken as she was. "Sulli, I'm sorry…" The sob that she had been trying to hold escaped. He was sorry. Minho was sorry he kissed her. She knew he should. Because that kiss was an act of unfaithfulness to Yoona, his wife-to-be. But unreasonably she didn't want him to feel sorry that he kissed her, because that kiss will be ingrained in her brain, a memory that would sustain her in the days ahead knowing she had met someone who was potentially the one she wish for but was already somebody else's guy. Somebody else's fiancé. Somebody else's groom. In a couple of weeks, somebody else's husband. "I can't go on like this Sulli." Frustration colored his words. "Talk to me please. If you don't want to talk to me or see me, then tell me. Don't keep avoiding me. I just...I need to talk to you." Sulli almost grabbed her phone, ending the voice message and just calling him. She wanted to ease the pain in his voice. But it was all for the best that she not talk to him nor see him. Truthfully if she met him, she doubted she would have the will power to deny him anything. She already arranged things so that one of the associated team at her company would go to appointments with him instead of her. She made sure her schedule was clear for Yoona but not for and to be anywhere with Minho. "I need to talk to you Sulli." He continued earnestly. "Damn! I can't go through with this." Sulli heard his long suffering sigh and a click as he ended his voice message. Can't go through with what? Sulli stared at the phone in horror. - - - - Minho rubbed his face with his hands in frustration. He was tired and frustrated. Sulli managed to avoid him for two weeks. Two agonizing, heart breaking weeks. If he had known that kissing her would result in her hiding from him and ignoring his calls, he would have exerted more control, keeping his lips to himself. It was puzzling. She had responded to his kiss. In fact, he could swear she enjoyed their kiss as much as he did. He groaned at the memory. He was crazy about her. Minho couldn't understand why she was avoiding him. If she didn't want to do anything with him, all she had to do was say so to his face. But he didn't think it was that. It was something else. Minho was going to get to the root of the matter tonight. It was his brother and Yoona's engagement party. If it was not for business matters that he needed to attend to, he would be at the mansion right now seeking for Sulli. As it was, he and his brother got tied up with their business associates in Japan. Minho glanced at his brother sitting across him. Choi Minseok looked cool and calm as usual, but Minho could see that he also had a lot on his mind. A good thing, since Minho wasn't in a mood for conversation ever since in the plane and now in the car. Minho sighed with relief as they slowly approached the mansion. He could see many cars lining the driveway and guests had already started trickling in. As soon as the car stopped, Minseok jumped out of his seat in a rush. "Whoa, slow down hyung. A broken nose on your engagement party would cramp your style." Minho teased. Minseok merely lifted an eyebrow at him. "I have a reason to be impatient. But what's your excuse?" His brother drawled, studying him. Of course, Minseok had noticed his younger brother kept on glancing at his watch every hour all morning. "Excited to see the fruits of my labor." Minho replied, reminding Minseok of the time and effort he had invested on his behalf for tonight's event. His brother again lifted an eyebrow to say he was not buying that, but that he wouldn't push for an answer. "You have been a big help, lil bro." "You're welcome, big bro." The siblings used a side entrance to get into the mansion and were greeted by Auntie Soo's scolding. "About time you two are here." She frowned at them, particularly at Minseok. "We're beginning to think this engagement party would go on without you, Minseok." "Not happening, auntie Soo!" Said Minseok and he smiled warmly. Minho smiled inwardly. His brother let everyone believe that he was bulldozed into the engagement with Yoona but he knew better. Nobody pushed Minseok to do anything he didn't want to. "Go and make yourselves presentable!" Auntie Soo shooed them off to their rooms. "Make a lot of women swoon, eh?" Minho executed a salute while Minseok dipped his head. They both turned towards the direction of their rooms. Minho didn't care about making many women swoon. There was only one woman in his thoughts and he was going to find her the first opportunity he got. - - - - Sulli looked around nervously. Thankfully, there was still no sign of Minho. She was worried he would be at the mansion the whole day while she got the place ready for the engagement party. His engagement party, she thought, feeling the familiar pang of pain that twisted her heart each time her mind decides to acknowledge the fact. The voice message Minho left for her was ingrained in her mind. "I can't go through with this." What did he mean by that? Can't go through with what? The engagement? The wedding? God help her! The last thing she wanted was to be the cause of a business fallout nor a scandal. Should the engagement or wedding not fall through, those were the most likely consequences. It would mean the end of her days at her company if that happened. Hence, she had tried her hardest to avoid Minho in the past two weeks. Tonight she planned to be at the opposite side of wherever he was. She would make sure that they not run into each other, at least
