RP rant/complaints

Description

1. There's so many rps, less roleplayers.

RPs dies easily nowadays. One of the reason, I think, because there's too many rps. There are rps with good concept, but among a hundred of mrmbers, bet only 25% active. Because people, beside has OOC life, has other rps. And its easy to be inactive or1. There's so many rps, less roleplayers.

RPs dies easily nowadays. One of the reason, I think, because there's too many rps. There are rps with good concept, but among a hundred of mrmbers, bet only 25% active. Because people, beside has OOC life, has other rps. And its easy to be inactive or leave and rp or let an rp dies because why, there's still many others out there.

And sometimes, the rivalry between rps is kinda hard isn't it?

with advertising and all. And sometimes, I once met this myself tbh, one reported members of another rp so they come to her rp instead.

I can't stop people from making rps though. But I hope people would try be active in the rp they join and stop making rp only to close them easily soon because OOC, drama or stuffs.

2. Do people still remember the meaning of roleplaying?

I remember one rp asked a question as their password: "What the meaning of roleplaying for you."

and many people answer "to escape from real life"

That's actually good? But I remember Roleplaying in old days mean portraying our idol, being our idol, a way of fangirling and promoting our idol.

So many people nowadays don't really roleplaying and that upset me. They just come to non-au rp with their own character, mixing it with ooc life, and sometimes being rude.

I mean it's not roleplaying anymore, I don't know what is this. :(

roleplaying has pretty much become a joke and it really started with this newer generation of idols and fans. everything is about trends and favoritism now. it's like fans from twitter crossed over and started roleplaying. crack roleplays became a trend which include clique, favoritism, and the constant use of trendy words and phrases. real, literate roleplaying has really started to become a thing of the past and if you're not in some big clique or a popular character, you're essentially out of luck.

tbh there are plenty of lit rps out there that promote only serious ic rping and no crack? i myself rp crack bc i’ve found old rping to be a bit boring? i mean i can switch between both but i don’t like the boring serious convos, which is why i join rps that advertise their rps as crack. i’m not sure if the rps that advertise their rp to be strictly in character and strictly serious role playing live up to their name or not, but i’ve been seeing plenty of those rps around. or you could try 1x1 roleplaying? i know a lot of people who role play 1x1 would rather role play seriously than with crack.

and sure there are a lot of crack, but there are also people out there who still rp seriously and in character. it’s just a matter of finding an rp like that. many of us rp crack bc to us it’s just more fun and entertaining.

but i do agree, some people who do come to rps and mix their ooc life and drama into rping get on my nerves. especially when someone role plays an idol all serious and rude, when they’re actually the sweetest and bubbliest person in variety shows and such.

That's true, to be honest. Today's roleplays world are way different to old one.
