1st. 

Hwang Eunbi was wiping the windows at a bookstore she worked at and there was this short and cute girl who would always visit with a small backpack on her back and holding her iPhone SE. Everything about her was mini sized. It was cute to Eunbi. 

One day, the mini girl was trying to reach for a book at the highest shelf but obviously, she couldn’t reach it despite tip toeing. Grumbling softly to herself with a frown on her face, she looked like Grumpy-the dwarf in Snow White. (totally not because of her height)

Eunbi heard some mumbles and walked down the aisle to see Ms Grumpy scrunching her face in annoyance while not giving up on her mission to reach the book way above her. As much as Eunbi wanted to laugh at her, she did not want to add on to the girl’s annoyance by laughing at her misfortune. Softly approaching Grumpy, she stood behind her and reached above her head for the book and passed it to Grumpy. 

Grumpy turned around with her big eyes wide opened and immediately bowed her head in gratitude. “Thanks a lot for helping me, miss.” And Ms Grumpy gave Eunbi a shy smile while tucking her short hair behind her left ear. 

“You-you’re welcome...”

2nd. 

Eunbi was dancing with her usual dance crew at a basketball court outdoor just for fun when their synchronised dance moves attracted a large number of crowd watching them. They started to crowd around and some even sat down to enjoy the show. After a few songs, one of her friends called for a break and the crowd started dispersing thinking the show has ended. However, one girl stayed. Ms Grumpy, with her iPhone SE in her small hand as usual. 

“You guys are so cool!” She clapped enthusiastically and gave them a wide grin before bowing and walking away.

Ms Cutie Grumpy. 

3rd.

Eunbi’s class was out visiting an orphanage to help out for a day as per the school request for each class to do a voluntary social work when she met Ms Grumpy again. After secretly asking one of the kids over there, Eunbi found out Ms Grumpy visits the orphanage often after she was done with her classes and she would often read them books, animating the characters’ voices and actions with her grammy worthy facial expressions, sometimes she would also help out in the kitchen to prepare their snacks and then tuck each of them to bed for nap time. Ms Grumpy was their favourite.

Eunbi stood there in admiration, looking at Ms Grumpy squatting down to meet a kid’s eye level (honestly she didn’t have to squat much) and talking to him with so much warmth in those bunny eyes. 

Their eyes met and Ms Grumpy gave Eunbi a polite smile.

4th.

Eunbi was out running errands for her mom when she dropped by a cafe to get some smoothie to replenish her energy level and guess what? Yes, she met Ms Grumpy again. Turns out, Ms Grumpy was working part time at the cafe as a cashier.

“Hello, may I take your order please?” Ms Grumpy didn’t seem to recognise Eunbi.

“Hi. Yes, I would like ice lemonade takeaway please.” Ms Grumpy started punching in her order before taking an empty cup and a marker to mark her order, “May I have your name please?”

“Hwang Eunbi.”

Ms Grumpy head shot up to look at Eunbi as if she just received a shocking news, pausing for a moment before nodding dumbly.

After making her payment, Eunbi’s name was called and she walked over to receive her drink from Ms Grumpy, saying her thanks before turning to leave but Ms Grumpy held onto her drink tightly. Puzzled, Eunbi turned around and tilted her head at Ms Grumpy like a confused puppy, what Ms Grumpy did next have Eunbi’s heart skipping a beat.

“You have a beautiful name.” Ms Grumpy winked and smiled at Eunbi.

5th. 

Eunbi was at the beach with her friends on a school-and-work-free weekend when she met Ms Grumpy again. Her favourite hobby is surfing so she tries to surf at least once a month, that is also how maintains her toned body.

Coming out of the water in her tight fitted swimwear, she saw Ms Grumpy standing with her friends in a circle seemingly trying to decide a spot to settle down and lay out their mats. However, they were standing too near to a group of people who were playing volleyball. One of the guy hit the ball too hard and it was flying towards Ms Grumpy.

“Grumpy, watch out!” 

In a hurry, Eunbi accidentally blurted out her nickname for the cute girl. She dashed towards the shortie and smacked the ball into opposite direction, successfully saving the damsel in distress.

Immediately turning back to Ms Grumpy, Eunbi couldn’t help but exclaimed loudly, “Are you okay?!” 

Grumpy was obviously in shock, one hand over and couldn’t reply immediately. One, she was still shaken by suddenness of the ball coming for her head. Second and most importantly, she was shocked by how much the familiar stranger worried for her. 

“Ye-yes, I am fine thanks to you… Thank you.” Grumpy forced a nervous smile towards Eunbi.

Eunbi merely gave a nod as she was awkward with Grumpy’s group of friends staring at her, more like gawking at her body. There were both mixture of guys and girls. Ms Grumpy looked like she wanted to say more, she opened but immediately closed when Eunbi turned and walked away.

Grumpy could only look at Eunbi’s retreating back with words burning at the back of and the fast beating of her heart. Thank you Eunbi.
