Plot:

Kang Euigeon or better known as Daniel was the school’s heartthrob—cool exterior, athletic, boyfriend material. Park Sooyoung on the other hand was the opposite—excitable, geeky, and far from desirable. Yet her charm was always her bright and cheerful personality which conveniently reflects her moniker—Joy. Despite their difference, Kang Daniel and Park Sooyoung have been the best of friends since childhood. Daniel feels comfortable around her and trusts her the most, while Joy gets to see the other side of Daniel beyond the cool exterior that others don’t get to see. Their parents are business tycoons who happen to be close friends and business partners. It’s a coming of age story in an elite world between friends.

-Only son and heir of the Kang enterprise that owns hotel chains, malls and resorts. As such, he’s known to be a spoiled chaebol.

-Being always at the center of controversies, he has learned to keep a cool and snobbish exterior, despite this, he remains a heartthrob due to his outstanding looks and built, plus his athleticism when it comes to basketball.

-Around his closest friends, he gets to show a different side to his snobbish and impenetrable exterior. He becomes the whiny, naughty and fun child that he truly is.

-His hobbies include going to the gym, doing 100 pushups, clubbing, MMA (mixed martial arts), dancing, racing, gaming, eating jellies and sleeping.

-He’s part of and number one in terms of popularity in Wanna One, the hottest elite group not only in their school, but in Korea.

Park Sooyoung:

“JOY”

Born Sept 3, 1996

-Eldest daughter and middle child of the Park family, owner of Park Bank Corp., the largest bank corporation in the country and JYP Entertainment Co, one of the three biggest entertainment companies.

-Despite her family’s background in show business, Joy prefers to bury herself in books, romantic comedies, corny jokes and interesting franchises like Harry Potter, Star Wars and the Lord of the Rings.

-She doesn’t find herself pretty with her thick-rimmed eyeglasses and unruly hair. But she believes she has a bright and cheerful, yet geeky personality.

-She finds friendship in the company of the Red Velvet, the hottest girls in campus. Most people say she doesn’t fit in the group in terms of looks, personality and well… popularity, yet, their friendship goes way back to when they were still children and goes beyond looks.

-She’s the top ranking student in the entire junior year and takes pride in being one of the editors of the school paper in just her junior year.
