He eyes darted everywhere but back into her own, he seemed more restless than usual. There was definitely something up with him; he was very much like an open book to her.
"There's something bothering you." She didn't even bother phrasing it as a question because there was nothing to question.
He finally met eyes with her and a wave of unease hits her. She hasn't dated many times, but that guilty and sorry look he has, she didn't need many experiences to know what that meant for them.
"You're breaking up with me," the remorseful look deepens on the creases of his face, "aren't you?"
She knew from the start, that this love story would not have a happy ending. But human greed is strong and overpowered her logic.
He didn't expect things to take such a drastic turn; he promised it would never end in such a way, but promises are merely just words, no?
