Long ago, there lived a divine race. Some referred to them as Gods. Others as monsters. They looked no different than the average human. Every villager knew that they lived high up in the mountains, secluded from the rest of the world. When they came down to collect their resources, they wore their shimmering, midnight cloak that was made of the finest silk ever woven. Not even the greatest kings could get their hands on such material. It was their own signature style. Villagers would praise and shower these divine beings with love and compassion for the protection they received. They were known as the Eternal Race. Where the Eternal Race existed, great power existed. Land flourished, happiness was pure. Every element hummed with their essence.

 

Until the Great Battle came. As many had loved them, many had feared them. It took many years to build an organization in secret. They attacked the least suspecting moment when everyone was gathered for the Eve. The Great Battle started, tarnishing everything in the area. The Eternal Race was almost wiped out, save for the few that had managed to escape. They tried to keep hidden, moving place to place, but slowly they were also being eliminated.

 

The group noticed it was no use running. The safety of their children was the most important. They found a local village hidden deep in the forest at the base of the mountains and with the help of the villagers, locked away the magical essence of their children. No one knew the outcomes of the forbidden spell but knew the price of using it was life. The only questions that remained were how long will the spell last until it gets broken and when will the next battle be.
