This chapter basically 90% are flashback and explain the relationship in Park Family. Italic word mean flashback or their inner thoughts. Hope my reader won’t get confused.

Chapter 2

Flahsback (Jihyo was 7)

Is time to wake up! Is time to wake up! It’s 7 in the morning --

I rubbed my eyes softly and closed my alarm.

*Yawn* Today gonna be a great day!

I smiled at myself while fixing my hair in the washroom.

*Knock knock* Someone knocked on my door twice and I ran over to open it immediately and look at the guy who I love the most in this world.

“Morning papa.”

I greeted cheerfully.

“Good morning, my princess.”

Papa gently pat my shoulder and gave me a soft peck on forehead.

He fixed my hair clips, caresses my hair, poked my cheek and smiled.

This smile is from my papa, my dearest papa.

But it somehow looks different.

What kind of different?

Hmphhh, I can’t describe it but .. it’s different.

“You look amazing, let’s go. I am bringing you to meet a new friend.”

Oh my gawd, new friend?

Papa finally agreed to buy me a new pet?

Hooray, I was begging him since last week and I kept mentioned that how bored I am when he went out for work.

How’s a perfect family should be frame – it will be a father, daughter and a PUPPY!

I clapped my hands and started to think about a name for my new pet.

“You look happy, my princess.”

“Yes, of course I am. I can’t wait to meet it soon!” I exclaimed excitedly.

“It? No, princess. Is a HE--”

I froze at my spot. What? A He? What is that sentence supposed to mean? It’s not a pet? Is a human? And is a he? What? Why? How?

I saw a blonde guy while I was walking down the stairs.

Yewww, blonde hair? Seriously?

“Here’s your new friend, Hirai Mo.”

Papa pat that guy’s head and signalled me to welcome him with a hug.

I observed him from his head to toe, that disgusting blonde hair, bushy eyebrow, sorrow eyes, expressionless face! Nah, I’m not going to hug him!

Papa looked at me, and his smile slowly turn downwards.

Oh no, papa is not happy. Ok, fine. Just a hug!

Anyways, his parents will pick him up soon. I just need to be good to him for few hours – or minutes!

“Hi, Mo. I’m Jihyo. Nice to meet you.”

I gave him a light smile and decided to push him away after the hug.

But he returned me with a kiss – on my cheek.

“Yahhhhhhhh, papa.”

I screamed.

“Princess, calm down. It’s just a manner kiss.”

“I don’t like it, send him home now.”

I angrily wipe my face and pouted.

“No, princess. He will stay with us -- as a family now.” Papa smiled.

“WHAT!!”

I glared at that guy immediately.

He rubbed the back of his neck and gave me a light smile.

That was the first time I see his smile, and not sure why? His blonde hair, eyebrow, eyes and that smile, he doesn’t look that bad, but … not that good either.

He walked towards me, and bowed apologetically.

“Sorry for that kiss earlier, I was trying to be friendly, that’s how we greet others in America.”

“Seem like you don’t like it, trust me, I will never do that to you again!”

He raised his little finger and said.

“Promise?”

My heart softens, so I raised and linked my pinky finger with his.

“Yes, you have my word.”

I guess, he wasn’t that bad to interact with? Maybe …

Flashback end

Flahsback (Jihyo was 9)

“HIRAI MO, give it back to me NOW!”

I have been chasing this ‘devil’ in the last fifteen minutes, he took away my unicorn plushie and ride on its top and pretended it as his black knight.

“No, my princess is waiting for me.”

“Yah! Your princess will feel disgusted when she saw your horse!”

I rolled my eyes when I look at the rainbow color ‘black knight’.

“Shhhh, she won’t! She will love me and find that I’m a cool and cute guy. hehe”

Momo grimaced and ran away again.  

“I hate you!”

Duh, not really! I can never hate him.

He is just a mischievous kid.

Those times spent with him are likes the happiest memory in my lifetime.

He will protect me from others, but he himself likes to bully me.

He will take cares me when I’m sick, but he is the reason why I’m always having headache.

He will cheer me up when papa is away from job, although most of the times he was just irritating me.

But still, I love him and I’m glad that papa brought him into my life.

He is my Hirai Mo, my friend, my brother, my family ..

“My dear kids, stop fooling around. Come to me.”

Papa waved to us and smiled.
