Lighting flashed across the sky.

Rain started pouring down.

A girl opened her umbrella and began to walk in a faster pace. Her leather shoes were  soaked and she could only groan until she reached her destination – a building with a gray exterior.   Once inside, the girl was greeted by a friend who was working at the baggage counter. They exchanged a small conversation about how bad the weather was before separating.   Left with only her backpack, the girl entered a room. She looked around in search of a girl with short hair. She smiled when she found her sitting next to the ‘Applied Sciences’ section of the library. She sits next to the girl who was reading a book.   “Good to see you early today,” said the girl who just arrived. “I’m not early. I’m on time,” the other girl closed the book she was reading, “And you’re late, Kim Taeyeon,” she added while crossing her arms.   Taeyeon explained she was working all night for the project while the other girl was busy playing around, and that should be a valid excuse. The other girl could only nod in embarrassment. Without any further words, they started the tasks.    “Sooyoung, did you bring a laptop?” Taeyeon uttered as she flipped through a pile of papers. Sooyoung reached for the rectangular device in her backpack, and showed it to Taeyeon. “Is this good?” Taeyeon nodded in agreement. She took a piece of paper and instructed something to the other girl.   The two worked until 7 in the evening. It was still raining outside.   Sooyoung stood up to stretch. She was stretching every hour since they started. She didn’t want to experience back pain. She fixed her short hair before going back to the chair.   “Taeyeon-ah, I’m tired. Let’s go home,” she tapped Taeyeon’s shoulder, “I’m hungry too,” she added before pretending to cry. Taeyeon rolled her eyes. She can’t believe Sooyoung would be the first one to complain. “We aren’t finished yet. And if there’s a tired person in this room, that would be me,” she retorted back. Sooyoung was pissed. She takes her hunger seriously. “I’ll just ask Yoona out for dinner.” She stood up and took her bag. Taeyeon noticed it, and protested, “Where do you think you’re going?” “I can’t continue anymore. I’m tired, hungry, and my brain is going to explode!” Sooyoung explained while wearing her hoodie jacket, “I’ll just call you tomorrow,” she added before turning her back. “What the...” Sooyoung left the room. “...hell.”   She closed her eyes and counted from 1 to 30. It was her technique to calm herself down whenever she feels annoyed. It works like magic to her. Anyway, Sooyoung was her close friend. She understood and accepted every aspect of her – the moodiness, laziness and hunger.   She looked around the library and saw about nine other students. Thereby, she decided to stay for another hour. Thirty minutes later, she took out her phone. She opened her message thread with Sooyoung.   Taeyeon: You better call me at 8AM sharp, or else you’re dead. I’m gonna scratch off your name from the paper. Sooyoung: Yes, I will. Taeyeon: You better be. Sooyoung: And Taeyeon? Taeyeon: What? Sooyoung: The rain was terrible. Go back to the dorm now. Taeyeon: 30 more minutes. Sooyoung: I want you home safe. I want my partner healthy and safe. Haha. Taeyeon: Then you should have stayed! Sooyoung: Btw you do know the library gets spooky when it’s 8 pm, right? Taeyeon: Ya! Stop that! Sooyoung: Yoona told me. It’s really spooky. Taeyeon: Wish you stayed instead of scaring me. Taeyeon: Ya! Where are you? Sooyoung: Sorry, I prepared my ramen. Sooyoung: Go home now. Sooyoung: Or else... Taeyeon: Or else what? Sooyoung: Or else... Taeyeon: WHAT? Sooyoung: They will get you. Taeyeon: . Stop joking around. Sooyoung: Hahaha! Sooyoung: Text me when you’re going home, okay? Taeyeon: Okay. Sooyoung: Don’t let HER get ya. Take care. Muhahaha. Taeyeon: Biiiitch. Bye.   Taeyeon closed her phone and looked around. She spotted two students and the female librarian. The janitor has already turned off the lights on the other side of the floor. It’s a signal that the library was closing soon. She turned to her laptop and saved her work. She took the papers scattered on the table, and compiled it in an envelope.   She could hear the thunder roaring, and could see the lighting flashing from the windows. These things prompted her to move quickly. In a few minutes, she stood up and noticed that she’s the only one left in the room.   “What sorcery is this?” She took her backpack and pushed the chair back to the table.   Taeyeon also noticed that even the librarian was missing. “Maybe she went to the washroom,” she whispered to herself.   She took out her phone to call Sooyoung, who was on her speed dial. She’s too tired to type a message. It took three rings before she answered.   Sooyoung: What the hell, Kim Taeyeon??? Why did you call? Taeyeon: Hey, I’m going home now. Sooyoung: What are you saying *yawns* you’re going home now? *yawns* Taeyeon: I’m going home now. I just want to inform you by the way. Sooyoung: So... *yawns* you mean you’re just go
