Taeyeon stared at the piles of clothes as she weaved fingers through her long black locks and lets out a long sigh. She wishes her American friend could’ve been here to help her pack. Her flight to LAX take off in twelve hours and she is no where near done packing her 18 years of existence into two small suit cases. She thought she had made good progress towards preparation but anxiety and uncertainty still managed to creep in on her. What if the school doesn’t suit me? What if I don’t fit in? What if—

They had made plans to travel to the States together, to leave Korea together and start a new college adventure. But Tiffany’s father business arrangements demanded the American girl be back right after her high school graduation. It actually amazes Taeyeon how her 18-year-old friend, who is technically younger than her, is already a successful business woman.
