It was one quiet afternoon at the Jeon's residence. Mrs. Jeon was tending to her garden while still keeping an eye on her 5-year-old son, Jungkook. Her adorable son is seated on a chair in the makeshift gazebo that her husband has built in case they will have guests. The young Jungkook was playing with his toy car, all by himself. She frowns at the sight.

It's not that Jungkook is very anti-social. He definitely is not. Jungkook is a very warm, loving kid, she is a first hand witness and receiver of such gestures anyway. He also is very close to his older cousins Hoseok and Jimin. The kid is just really, really shy and doesn't easily warm up to people until they have earned his trust. The problem is, some kids in their village are really mean and they tend to tease Jungkook. This is why the latter is usually just at home, playing all by himself or with her, and whenever it is possible to visit Seoul or the Jeons to Busan or Gwangju, with his cousins.

She checks her watch. It's already 3 in the afternoon. She decided to finish tending to her plants and prepare some snacks for her little one.

Jungkook glides his toy car with a huge pout on his face. He is huffing and puffing his cheeks in boredom. Being all by himself can be so upsetting, but he doesn't want to risk being teased again by the mean kids in their neighborhood. His last attempt at playing with the village kids was a couple of weeks ago and it didn't end well. One of the mean kids, a huge 7-year-old boy named Sehun, for having a huge front teeth before proceeding to destroy a toy car that his cousins Jimin and Hoseok gave him. That incident really broke his heart because he treasures the toy so much, because it keeps him company whenever his cousins can't. And to say the least, little Jungkook decided it is best to just stay at home.

So yes, that one afternoon, he was minding his business when he suddenly heard a little thump just nearby. He jolted at the sound but decided to pay no attention and continued to play his toy car.

It wasn't until he heard some footsteps approaching him. He was about to whine but stopped at his tracks the moment he looked up.

"W-what..?"

Standing infront of him is a 5-year-old kid who has lanky arms and legs, but has really chubby cheeks. Said kid has a glowing light brown skin, huge but sparkly eyes, and a bright, rectangular smile. Said kid is giggling at him. They were silently staring at each other before the kid decided to break it.

"Hi!" the kid cheerfully greeted him.

And that rendered the young Jeon Jungkook speechless.

Not just that.

He felt his young soul leave his body.

He could hear some angelic chorus somewhere, like he is being called to fly towards the heavens. Something like that.

His 5-year-old self couldn't explain, but that's what he feels right now.

"A-are.. Are you.. An..Angel..?" he squeaked.

The other kid titled his head in confusion. He didn't understand what Jungkook was saying. "Huh?"

Jungkook rubbed his eyes and pinched his chubby cheeks for a good measure because OMG! He cannot believe what he is seeing.

Did he die and went straight to heaven?

When he sees his mother meters away from where he is, Jungkook calls the attention of his mother and asks, "Mom, are we in heaven?"

Mrs. Jeon looks at Jungkook and gasps a little at the question "Why baby?" she asks, trying to grasp what his son meant.

"I think I saw an angel," Jungkook replies.

Mrs. Jeon looks at where Jungkook's eyes are on and chuckles at what she is witnessing. She sees a kid around the same age as her little Jungkookie. She smiles at the thought of her baby having a new playmate. "An angel? More like you new friend, baby."

But little Jungkook refuses to believe. "Nooooo! Mommy, he is an angel! Look at him," he squeaks again, pointing at the kid infront of him, as if insisting that she has to see to believe him.

The bright kid giggles (5-year-old was convinced he's indeed in heaven) at what he heard. "I'm not an angel! I'm your new neighbor. I'm Taetae!!" the young boy answers, giggling in between.

"Hello angel, I'm Jungkook," Jungkook mumbles, eyes still on the angel infront of him as he introduced himself.

And the angel (Taetae, but Jungkook thinks angel fits more) giggles again and he smiles shyly. "B-but.. I'm not an angel," Taetae mumbles, playing with his fingers.
