“Gosh.”

The alarm clock was unusually too loud, maybe with the silence which made it way too noticeable that she scurried to turn it off.

Yuna just silently wished she didn’t bother the two other girls with either how deafening the alarm sounded.. or the small scream she let out when she almost crashed through her bedroom door from the long strides she lost control of.

Warming herself by blowing through her hands, she hurriedly slipped into her night pyjamas. She knows a shower at this time of the day isn’t something she can recommend, but the amount of sweat from practice made her itch for one.

Grabbing her phone from the bed at once, Yuna inhaled a sharp breath.

Certainly, she’s not nervous.. and never was she nervous. However, the sudden increase in her heart rate with the ringing she’s most familiar with is way too obvious to be left unnoticed.

Taking quick but careful steps, Yuna reached the vanity table and took a seat, making herself comfortable as she crossed her legs on the leather couch she just pushed in front of it. She placed her phone flatly on the table, resting both her arms on the surface before pressing the messaging app.

She’s quite sure it’s excitement creeping in her system. It has been quite a while, after all: three long, dreaded months of only unanswered texts and photos. She can clearly feel her chest throbbing from the room’s silence, and the thought of seeing him in those blonde locks, which image had been living in her mind rent-free since last week, isn’t of any help.

Thinking through, Yuna’s well aware even just the thought of him can hinder her from keeping her composure, and now that she had mentioned it, it’s really quite funny that a single change of hair color can shake her entire existence— not to mention that the mere image of his face can do wonders in changing her current mood.

A little while ago, she was stressed out coming from a schedule to their practice room, but knowing what date it is today charged her up in an instant as if she wasn’t working since morning.

A smile suddenly crept into her face. Amidst denying, Yuna lowkey admits she’s a er for him, too.. but there’s no way she’d say it right in his face.

The truth is, it’s the same, if not stronger, funny feeling of butterflies since then, one thing she doesn’t have the confidence yet to wholeheartedly declare.

Pressing the ID of his dummy account, Yuna still suppresses a laugh every time she would see the Disney princess he used as his display photo. There’s no doubt someone would even think of the profile as his by just the looks of it, and she has to give it to him for choosing that.

Well, that’s the goal, anyway, since a disguised account is the best resort they can turn to for now. This way, no one will ever find it suspicious nor have the motive to hack into it easily, keeping their, perhaps, ‘little secret’ somewhat safe.

The memory of him suggesting the method crossed her mind, tucking her hair beneath her ears and putting her fringe to the side to stop it from blocking her view.

In all honesty, it took her a lot of thinking before agreeing to their current setup since she reasoned out the industry’s a little too controlling to even try. Sure they can say they’re different people behind the cameras, but everyone outside ironically shares the same habit of sticking their noses to everything undoubtedly personal.

However, though accurate, pointing that alone was enough to conclude she was just afraid of what awaits them once she nods her head yes.

In fact, she’s fully aware of that.

Yuna admits it was the fear that enslaved her thoughts all these years: the mere fact that held her back from what she really wanted. Anyone would agree it’s the reality they have to face, not just something she made up out of being too rational.

Besides, what can she do against the public?

Either way, she’s at a disadvantage.. and there’s no way she’ll even have the courage to risk the name the six of them worked their lives off just for something she believed is bound to disappear.

Amidst the setbacks, she can never deny she had always sought for a life she can still call her own.. and as time passes he inevitably becomes a part of what she constantly imagines. Yet despite that, she still couldn’t bring herself to let him hope for something she once thought as temporary: a rather fleeting happiness she was too scared to be accustomed to... not until the day he admitted about being afraid as well— which made her realize how much of a coward she was.

Staring at his profile, the smile that painted itself on her lips since a little while ago didn’t leave her face.

His layout kinda matches hers, she had noticed. Ariel sure has an angry shark in her circle of sea friends, doesn’t she..?

Letting the side of her face sink on her palm as her elbow rested upon the table, Yuna pressed the call button, letting her phone depend on the vanity mirror directed on her best angle. She can feel the contrast between her cold hand and her warm cheek, but she knows she could only care less.

It took about five rings before he answered, and his face conquering the screen as the first thing she would see on the screen made her a laughing mess, hastily trying to conceal the sound by covering her bare face.

With her heart rate still quickened, she bit her lower lip slightly as she tried to calm herself upon hearing his voice.

It has been really quite a while, isn’t it?

“Hello, Ma’am, who are you?”

Jungkook comfortably settled on his study’s chair as his stare lingered on her face he longed to see the most, a chuckle still audible.

It isn’t really his first time seeing her stripped of all the ‘idol’ traces. As a matter of fact, she doesn’t care about presenting herself like this in all days they would talk, saying it’s a constant reminder of who she really is.

Yuna felt herself grinning as her laugh subsided, hands lightly tapping both her cheeks.

“It’s Yuna tonight.” Sharing the same thought, he would always be in his hoodie or a plain shirt, face as bare as hers. After all, he met ‘Yuna’ first.. and it’s ‘Yuna’ he imagines a future with. “I already removed my makeup.”

One time he about him using his birth name, convincing she’d be lucky to marry both.

“Yes, I can tell.” With a rather satisfied beam, he soon found himself catching her glares as her smile suddenly disappeared through the screen of his phone. She stuck her tongue out, one gesture he to see after months of just her pretty pictures. “But I see your fans like seeing you that way too much.”

“And they said I look the same.” She refuted abruptly, yet tone far from defensive.

“I never said you don’t, though.”

“Silly. Did I say you did? I’m just saying.”

Grabbing her phone to see her reflection, Yuna scrunched her nose at him to which he only shook his head at, miserably failing to contain another chuckle. She raised the hand holding it as she finds an angle to look at her slightly swollen eyes, not fully aware that Jungkook isn’t the type to miss the opportunity of taking a screenshot. “Are my eyes that puffy?”

He’d be lying if he would say she doesn’t always appear irresistible even without her make-up, but now with the question, it’s more noticeable to him how stressed out his woman looks: her eyes a bit swollen than normal and paler than pink lips; her hair was resting upon her shoulders as it is but fringe slightly parted, a tiny pimple becoming evident when the phone caught the exposed part of her once clear forehead.

Still, with her bare face especially her cheeks, she looked more like a three year-old, and more when she pouted as her pupils were directed at him like a puppy she likens herself to— only, a rather stressed three year-old, he thought.

Maybe she doesn’t know he was watching her Instagram live a while ago, and that he’s aware she recorded something today. From the looks of it, it seems to him she went to the company too for a round of practice.

She doesn’t know how to take it easy, does she?

“A bit..” Slightly frustrated, concern started enveloping his thoughts as a rush of questions clouded his mind in a second. “Why? What happened? Have you slept? You look so stressed.”

It was his time to take a hold of his phone as Yuna put hers back from where she had first set it up.

It’s always what bothers him especially within times she would leave him on read. Being quite knowledgeable of how hard she works to perfect every move made him anxious if there’s at least one who reminds her to take a break whenever she pushes herself too hard.

Maybe he should ask one of her members about this.

“Um.. not yet. I just showered. But I haven’t washed my hair yet.” It’s not too much of a big deal to say about her. He sure knows way more than that. “Maybe tomorrow?”

“Right. Not tonight, Yuna-ah. It’s already too cold. You might catch a cold or something.” Noticing the crease on his forehead, Yuna decided to shift the topic.

He, too, looks somewhat stressed out, and knowing how he tends to lose control whilst onstage, she reckons it would be better to divert that worry to all but herself.

He should think about himself more..

“Gosh. What happened to yours?” Referring to his hair, she asked, watching her man put his phone back to leaning on his room’s wall with a slight hint of confusion becoming obvious on his face.

"Blonde?"

Yuna can only roll her eyes with his response. He asks as if he didn’t just send her almost a dozen of his mirror selfies when she texted him about arriving home.

Of course, she’s aware he’s blonde, and she knows he’ll also change that into another color soon. She had been squealing about it since he informed her.. even now inside her mind that she gets to see him this close.

Well, technically not ‘close’, but.. you get the idea.

“Not that.” She shook her head a little. “I mean, were you just out or something?” Seeing himself on the screen, Jungkook’s eyes widened a bit as he recognized what Yuna was meaning to say. He admits he’s so focused on her that he didn’t even bother to fix his hair before storming his way to his study as he answered the call.

But anyways, he won’t lie. He’s well aware of its consequences.

“I wasn’t. I just woke up,” Jungkook said with a shrug as if that was the most nonchalant thing he can confess before his lips formed a thin line. He didn’t think he’d fall asleep staring at his phone. Lying on his bed while waiting was really a trap he helplessly fell into: a mistake he should note.

“Oh, did I wake you up? Damn. I’m sorry—“

“Don’t be,” he managed to cut her off, her words reminding him of why he’d rather make up an excuse. She always finds a way to make things about herself— though truthfully speaking, she really did woke him up.

“I was waiting for you, I just.. didn’t think I’ll doze off that fast.” Still, there’s no way he’ll blatantly point it out. “And you’re better than sleep.” He winked at her in a suggestive manner, one thing she only glared at.

Failing to squeeze her of the reaction he wanted, he just ruffled his hair to somehow ‘fix’ it, watching her squint her eyes to the time atop her phone’s display.

Jungkook bit his lip in an attempt to stop himself from reacting when she turned back to him obviously shocked.. and with her face, he can easily tell she didn’t realize it’s already way past midnight.

Maybe she enjoyed her shower too much..

“Jeon, it’s freaking 2 am!” With threatening golf balls for eyes, Yuna swore it was too bad she isn’t there to hit him with the way he just giggled at her remark. If she was there, she would’ve beaten the heck out of him too just so he would pass out and finally have the rest he deserves. “Why didn’t I notice?”

She really went with the call not minding what time it is.. why didn’t she even notice the time on her phone?

Maybe the alarm was distracting..

..or was she that excited?

Wait.

Did she really take that long in the shower?

Gosh.

With guilt waving at her in a distance, a low sigh escaped her lips. “You should be resting for now. And no, don’t even argue. I’m gonna end this fast—“

“Yah.” Yuna abruptly stopped when his voice resonated as the words he hates to hear the most rang on his ears. “So what if it’s 2 am?”

Work almost drained him to bits, and not being able to meet their fans means oftentimes he only got pictures to hold onto.. months of just hearing her voice greeting others.. and now that they’re talking, she has the nerve to say she would end it fast?

She clearly doesn’t know the extent of how much this call means to him, does she?

Meanwhile, Yuna’s just fumbling on the thought of him enjoying his rest at this time had she called tomorrow night instead. Albeit his concern, she worries about him just the same, treasuring his sleep the same way she does with her own.

To her, there’s no denying he works more than hard. Rest is what he always deserves..

Yet here she is, disturbing what could’ve been a nice sleep.

“What?” Yuna, with worry still written all over her face, watched his eyebrows slowly easing as his lips protruded into a small pout.

“I haven’t received anything from you since November and you’re telling me—“

“I sent you some polaroids, Jeon.” Amidst all the concern, she can only roll her eyes once more, recognizing what he’s gonna bring to the table with the way he accuses. “And post-its, mind you.”

“Except that—“

“And I’ve replied you hearts, stupid. I posted a lot, too.” She cut his words before he can even object, shrugging her shoulders while bearing a questioning look.

With the hectic schedule and piled up work for their promotion period, she could hardly see the news let alone browse her phone. She only had the travel time to check for his messages and yet, she read them all— every single encouragement taken to heart. “And all that isn’t ‘anything’?”

On top of that, yes.. she sent heart emojis: one sign he knows indicates that she’s okay and will be sending a photo or post some on Instagram, at least. She also tried her best in subtly answering him through posts during schedules, mostly on trivial questions like what she’s currently up to.

Well, who knows who might be lurking?  She can’t be too sure of the people around her in public not unless it’s their female manager. One careless mistake and they’re both done for.

“Fine... but I haven’t talked to you like this..” He said, voice lower in volume that she almost didn’t hear what he meant.

It’s always a contrast Jungkook definitely despises: him becoming too busy once Yuna started having even the littlest time to spare. With what they have, waiting is something relative— something they’re fully aware of. Both recognize the downsides it entails: that one major conflict would be time itself.

He knows they promised to not be as demanding nor expect too much of each other..

But, three months is quite long, isn’t it?

“And..?”

Despite a slight dilemma, Jungkook cleared his throat for a second before exclaiming as he sided with himself for one: “2 hours!”

“2 hours?!” He was grateful he at least pursed his lips as a reflex to suppress a laugh when Yuna suddenly covered with her sudden outburst, looking twice as flabbergasted.

Knowing how quiet the lower dorm is, he wouldn’t be surprised if either of the two girls would storm inside her room in the middle of their call: an incident that has happened before when she learned about one of his expensive gifts.

“If Umji or Yerin-unnie barge in, I swear I’m gonna end this call right away.” It isn’t new to him how shy of a person Yuna is to her members when it comes to matters concerning whatever this is, and he could only let out a hearty laugh with how red she looked before.

He still isn’t sure to this day if it’s because of the knowing gaze their maknae gave, or the frustration of not being able to kill him right at that very moment.

“How about one?” Jungkook’s voice was almost convincing, matching it with a small smile as he raised his eyebrows a little. “Just one.”

Yuna could’ve said yes with how.. well, devastatingly adorable, he looked— and he knows that well— but he certainly would regret his habit of sending her his schedule with what she has to say next.

“You texted me your sched and it says you’ll have to wake up at 6 am.” Her fleeting smile was enough to know she’s against the very idea, one fact he’s well aware of as it’s what her face suggests. “You’ll only have less than 3 hours to sleep. And you know, I can’t let that happen.”

There’s just no way she’d want him drowsy on his filming tomorrow morning nor would she agree on passing the burden to their make-up artist to conceal the evidence of his lack of sleep.

“55 minutes?” He surely doesn’t know how to give up, does he?

“Is 5 minutes a big difference?”

“40, then. And it’s final.” With him sounding a bit too authoritative, she knows it’s a closed deal, one she can only nod her head with.

Yuna just brushed her hair back with her fingers before tying it down to its usual style. It’s quite funny how she would be the one to disagree yet follows his decision on every little argument whenever he would say it’s final.

She’s just glad he’s yet to notice that.

“Geez. We lost 5 minutes and for what?” With another glare, she asked.

“Maybe if you said yes to two hours..”

Grabbing her glasses, a soft sigh escaped her lips as she put them on. He surely has a knack on consistency.. always the persistent kid that he is.

If only matters are different like him being well-rested and he had no scheduled appointment tomorrow, two hours would still be so short..

He’s not the only person missing someone here, is he?

“40 minutes.”

As much as she wants to see him, she knows to herself she would rather endure another month— or no matter how longer it is— so long as she’s certain he’s resting well: a thought which, obviously, isn’t the same as what he tries to project.

“Yes, Ma’am.” Sitting upright as he gave her a salute, Jungkook answered right away.

Now, a smile slowly painted itself on Yuna’s face.. and seeing her smiling is a trigger for his lips to display the same curve.

This probably isn’t the way she imagined their talk would start tonight since it honestly felt so long. Nonetheless, it isn’t them without a round of bickering in every call for obvious reasons.. especially that this boy right here always loves to challenge her patience.

She sure somehow forgot she missed him for a slight second, too— annoyance kicking her longing aside. Jungkook really knows how to get into her nerves that sometimes, she even wonders how she can keep up with all those antics.. or how she’s convinced she can endure his stubborn for all the years ahead.

Now they’re both cackling at their exchange.. like two people amidst their own little world.

Well, it’s really their own world as of the moment: the vicinity of their respective rooms, phones a channel connecting both.

Jungkook just made himself comfortable as his eyes made way to hers, a beam still lingering. He can see her own forming crescents beneath those round lenses, her lids fluttering as her laugh subsided.

He really missed her.. that’s no doubt.

“So..” Softly running her fingers through her fringe, Yuna started while heaving a faint breath. “Have you eaten already?” It was what she was meaning to ask since a while ago, but Jungkook really has a way to annoy her first before anything else.

“Nope. Not yet.” And here he is again, a sly look hiding beneath the way he lightly shook his head. Too bad she can decipher his expression in one look: a skill that she, with all the teasing, had learned to master.

“Jeon, I swear.”

“Of course I did.” With a grin, he confessed. “‘Cause I know you’ll ask.”

“You mean, you don’t eat dinner unless I’m gonna check up on you, is it?” The way she can draw out conclusions on every single remark is amusing.. but certainly not when it’s against his words. She had always been someone to question things unless assured, and funny how she’s also the type to do or try matters without much thought.

He can never get her way of thinking.

Well.. who cares, anyway?

It’s what he signed up for.

“I mean, I do ‘cause I know you’ll be worried.” Ever since meeting her he’ll always try to not skip a meal especially between schedules. In that way, he knows she’ll be at ease.. no matter if they talk or not. “Well, sometimes I forget, but I did a while ago, I promise.”

She groaned before she nodded, far from being satisfied but either way, she  knows she has no choice but to believe whatever he has to say. Forty minutes is rather a short time, and there’s no way she’ll give up another five just to know if he really ate or not.

She knows she should also trust his words. Anyhow, he knows very well the price of lying, that’s for sure.

“How’s your legs?” The question sounded casual, Jungkook holding his phone to secretly take a screenshot of her ‘bedroom’ look.

Cute.

“Still a bit numb, but I guess a light massage after this will do.” Slowly feeling the aftermath of their practice now that she pointed it out, Yuna just stared. She recognized she indeed pushed herself the other night, one thing she didn’t hesitate to tell him through text.. yet there she was a while ago, not even thinking twice to join the other girls despite being yet to recover. “Or I can just ask Yerin-unnie tomorrow.”

“You should be sleeping too after this, okay?” Sighing, he reminded. “Your eyes look tired..”

Despite the remark, Yuna can observe the exact same thing on his.

As if there’s even a time they won’t look as tired especially on a call at a night like this..

“Yours too. Come closer.” And he did as asked, leaning his face towards his phone’s camera as he widened his eyes a bit for her to see. “And somewhat red,” she hissed. “Don’t rub them, Jeon. It’s gonna get irritated. Do you have your drops with you?”

“You worry too much.” Jungkook just looked at her before he nodded, a small, contented smile hinting within his lips.

Truly he missed her nagging, too. “How ‘bout you though? Have you eaten?”

“I did,” she stated as she looked down, her eyes suddenly catching the unsealed bag of snacks she chucked somewhere under her table some nights ago. “..but I’m actually craving for some snacks right now. Wait a bit, it’s here somewhere.”

Blinking twice, Jungkook watched as Yuna bends down to get whatever snack she’s looking for. He can see her struggle to reach something underneath until she stood up with a groan, then grabbing a rather very familiar bag he often sees: a packaging too identifiable for him to not recognize.

Well, the uncountable amount of times he bought the same brand for her made it a little too easy.

“Sweet potato sticks?”

Of course.

“What else?” Yuna sat back again, this time with a satisfied grin while working on the zip lock before fishing for a thick piece.

“I swear I’ll start to think you actually have about six bags of that under your table.” The way she stopped taking a bite halfway wiped the slightly sarcastic expression from Jungkook’s face.

Don’t tell me...

“Gosh, how did you know?” He can only facepalm when she pulled a plastic bag containing the same snack, letting the exactly six sealed packs stand on her table side by side for him to marvel at.

“Damn, that’s a lot.” Despite the disbelief, he laughed a little.

What can he expect?

As much as being addicted to practice, her fondness on sweet potatoes isn’t a matter one should question. Though she kind of swerved to sweet pumpkins months ago, it’s a no-doubt she’ll come back to her ‘first love’: a fact he already predicted.

The images of him sneaking out to buy it way back resurfaced on his mind out of a sudden. The snack surely unlocked some far-fetched memories he doesn’t even remember having: those he’s aware he cannot do again as of the present circumstances.

Stifling another chuckle, his eyes spotted the acrylic milk carton by his bedside table. “Wait, I got milk here. Just think I’m eating with you.”

“Is this a date?” Yuna just waited for him to sit again while putting the packs back to where she got them, a challenging yet teasing smile evident. She then watched him with expectant eyes as he poured his glass some, raising it to the camera with that bunny grin he knows she’s obsessed with.

“If you say so, I guess it is.” Secretly fawning over the way he gulped his milk, Yuna just took a large bite on the piece of sweet potato stick she has on her hand since a while ago. “But don’t get it wrong, ‘kay? You know I got better plans than this."

He tried to conceal a heave of slight disappointment as he whispered the last statement. As far as his thoughts can go, Jungkook already lost count of the times he would imagine taking her to the fanciest restaurants out there.. or even simply picking flavors of those sweet potato sticks with her on a local convenience store near their company building. “I can even reserve us a whole hotel if you want.”

A low yet evidently bitter chuckle escaped his lips.

It’s just unfortunate he can’t do either— not that he even has the option to choose in the first place.

“I know, I know. This is what we can do for now.” Seeing him that way, the look on Yuna’s eyes softened. It’s not new to her seeing him quite disappointed no matter how much he tries to hide it. After all, to her he’s an open book. “And when did I ever get you wrong, though? You’re talking nonsense.”

Will you think wrong of someone who buys jewelries for gifts?

Certainly not.

“This is enough for me. I can see you.. talk to you like this, at least.”

“You talk a lot. Are you crying over our cheap date, Ma’am?” She’s more than glad his attention shifted, a teasing grin now being etched upon his visage.

“Who says I’m crying?”

Wait..

“Yah! Why would it be a hotel out of all places?!” Sometimes she just wonders what’s buried deep within his subconscious. Now that it occurred to her, it’s not even surprising he would think of taking her there among all the available choices after all their talks with those ‘suggestive’ innuendos.

On the other hand, Jungkook just laughed with the way she hurriedly put the remaining piece of her snack on before taking a bite on another. Her rolling her eyes at him was enough to let him know about how she interpreted what he just said, and the hue that of cherries slightly tainting her cheeks would not lie either.

“Silly. It’s for a dinner date. I’m not a cheapskate when it’s you.” Amidst the chortle, he didn’t miss the chance to with the kind of reaction whilst not forgetting to take another screenshot. “Why? You’re thinking of doing something else?”

“I never said you’re a cheapskate.” Brushing his question aside, she took another bite on her sweet potato stick. It would certainly be nice if she can throw a punch on his face right now. “And don’t turn the joke on me, stupid. I know you too well.”

With his laugh becoming more and more inaudible, Yuna noticed the shift on his expression after he took another sip from his glass of milk.

“But, seriously. I’ll take you everywhere when I can, I promise.” He averted his gaze on her, looking so serious she almost avoided how they seem to scream his real intent.

Yuna knows that, too.. since there’s not a call he would not try to prompt her about it. However, albeit his constant reminder, she’s aware deep inside her she doesn’t want it at all— not because she doesn’t want to spend time with him ‘cause the heavens know how much she’s dying to, but maybe for the fact that she’s already contented with just his presence alone.

And sure enough, she doesn’t want him being pressured nor disappointed of not fulfilling his promise sooner than he expects.

She’s aware she should at least remind him about that as well.

“Well, save that for whoever knows when ‘cause I don’t need you to take me everywhere, Jeon.” She put her chin on her palm after swallowing a morse. “You don’t have to. We’re being careful and so far it’s working...”

Now, with hers looking back at him, she managed to conclude with a whisper: “...and that’s enough.”

She hates thinking about him being frustrated, and certainly, her being the reason doesn’t sit well with her either.

Jungkook just smiled at the way she’s staring. It’s nicer than he thought to think he got the nicest woman— though she called him stupid for already  about thrice now. Well, they both probably said worse than that and she once argued it’s their love language, anyway.

Truly she isn’t asking for anything, but still, he already noted some of the places he’ll take her in the near future: all those she would interestingly look at, or those he and s went to where she’s the first person he would think of going with.

“Right.” Knowing how she decided to end the talk there, he knows he should divert the topic elsewhere. “But I still need to at least experience your hair care one of these days.”

“Silly. I sent you what you need to buy long ago and I doubt you even bothered to take a look.” Aware of how he chose to shrug the subject off, she rode along. And since he did mention about the hair care, she just thought of buying them herself and sending it to him if time allows.

He had always bugged her about it, and now that it hit her, only at this moment did she realize it’s just one of his antics for her to invite him in.

This boy, really..

“You really know me too damn well.” A playful smile limns upon his face.

That, for sure, is a fact. She knows too much about him that he really believes she’ll cause his personal life’s downfall if she would choose to reveal them all— but she won’t, he’s certain with that.. for he knows everything about her, too.

“Of course. I’ve known you way before your first tattoo.”

“My hands feel the same, don’t worry.”

“I know.” Though side-eyeing him jokingly, Yuna couldn’t help but to let out a hearty cackle instead, remembering how she joked about how the warmth that his hands emit would not be as it was when he first got inked.

He definitely has the answer to everything she says, doesn’t he?

“Oh, wait. I almost forgot.” Sipping the remaining content of his glass before disappearing from the screen, Jungkook looked like he was reaching for something. “There’s something I want you to see.”

What is it this time?

“What?” Her eyes displayed curiosity, leaning towards her phone to see what he had got. The way he started felt so familiar that it’s almost overwhelming.. that kind she eerily knows wherever it’s heading but for one reason she can’t quite grasp.

“Look at this.” Jungkook showed her a black cap, the same brand name she usually gets as gifts from fans written in white texts on its very front. “What do you think? I think it’ll look good with any plain shirt.”

“Oh, I like it. And you look better with a cap on anyway.” She remembers seeing one of his well-known airport looks where he wore an all-black attire with those overpriced boots... that very day she almost choked on her malatang right when the eldest of the girls sent her a fansite preview.

“Seriously?” He questioned, looking at her a bit unconvinced.

“Go ahead. Try it.” Seeing the way she nodded her head with a motivating smile, he wore the black cap, fitting it on his head before looking back at her with a fierce gaze.

“This?”

Perfect.

But there’s no way she would say it right in his face.

Not when she got an idea to return one of his awfully infamous jokes: one thing she’s sure he laughs to himself about everytime she would wear a cap which she pairs with her casual airport or going-out outfits.

“No, wait. Put the visor lower.” She stated, signalling him by abruptly waving her free hand up and down.

“This?” Though a bit puzzled, he did just as she said, the visor almost covering his eyes he had to raise his head a little to somehow still get a view of her face.

“A bit more.” He wasn’t about to protest, but Yuna lightly wiggling her eyebrows with that annoying little smile gave him a hunch of what’s going on inside her head— that mind of hers he would gladly pay a fortune to look into.

“It’s gonna cover my face.”

“Exactly. Wear a mask too and it’s perfect.”

Reluctantly, Jungkook removed the cap with a groan before ruffling his blonde locks.

Now she’s laughing at him— hitting the table too, on top of that.. yet despite how annoying it may seem, he knows he would reject the chance to wipe that rather irresistible expression she bore. As much as he doesn’t like being made fun of, seeing her laughing to her heart’s content because of him makes him doubt if he would even change his mind.. though a joke about him is the sole reason.

He smiled inwardly, but he immediately shrugged it off when his woman faced to him, slightly covering her visage with her oddly muted guffaw before bursting out once more, eyes turning into salient crescents.

“You look better with a mask too.”

“Oh, really?” Still not moving on from successfully avenging herself, Yuna gently wiped her eyes with the back of her hand as she started tearing up from laughing way too hard.

She’s enjoying this way too much..

“Yes, that one you posted. You were wearing white.” He said, clearing his throat in the process. Alerted on what picture he was talking about, Yuna decided she had enough fun and proceeded to search her mind for all the time she wore the color.

And what is it among her posts? She admits it would be easy since she doesn’t post that much.. so easy that she quickly recalled every post she wore white.

Finally remembering, she asked: “The one I had my eyes closed?”

“Yeah. My wallpaper.”

Of course, it has to be that one. She’s well aware of how much he loves that photo. Too bad he can only put it as his wallpaper from when he would go home ‘til overnight, then not forgetting to change it into another after waking up.

He said she looked serene.. just the state he always wants her to be. And oddly, it reminds him of those times he can stare at her in person for as long as he wants. He said it calms him

Chapter 13: I couldn't just go without leaving a comment in this masterpiece. Seriously, I really didn't want it to end. This chapter was so sweet and you paid attention to a lot of details, which made the story richer. I loved it so much. I think if they dated in real life it would be really similar to this. The care, the teasing, the fear, the excitement, them being comprehensive with each other. Thank you so much for writing this and making me smile while fantasizing about my impossible OTP. As a buddy, I'm having such a hard time right now and reading this helped me calm down a bit.
Jungkook is so cute, seriously. I can just imagine both of them looking at each other lovingly through the screen.
And about your note, I also feel very sad about this tag being dead. I also write yukook fics sometimes, but it's in my mother language and my stories are the only ones in the tag 😭
Anyway, thank you again for this. Your writing is beautiful ♡ I hope you never stop creating beautiful stories.

Chapter 1: I'm a little bit confused about the ending of ch1. Does he care about her? If he does, then why is he abusing her ?
I like this concept of making a one shot per song. It's pretty cool!
