“You were amazing tonight, Jiyong. Amazing.”
Jiyong smiled widely to Youngbae’s compliment when the Eagles came back to the hotel after they had won against the Los Angeles. After having easily won in Colorado, they went in California, sure they will defeat the other team. Unable to get Taeyeon out of his mind, Jiyong feared that his lack of concentration could damage the team and make them lose against the Los Angeles. But it was actually the contrary.
Thank to him, the other team didn’t even score a point. Maybe to think about Taeyeon while he was playing was a good thing now. He decided to think about her one more time the following evening and, if they would win in Dallas, then he would include her in his every warming up, as painful as it might be.
Youngbae had started to walk toward the elevator.
“Are you coming?”
“Go first. I want to find someone to talk about the water in my room. I didn’t have the time to do it before the match.”
“Alright, see you tomorrow.” He yawned, entering the elevator.
“See you soon.”
Jiyong waited for the door of the elevator to close before going toward the reception of the hotel.
“I would like to know if I have any message.” He asked to the blonde woman at the desk.
“What is the number of your room?”
“Ah, yes.”- he shook his head, embarrassed.” I’m sorry. I’m a bit tired. My room is the number 301. Kwon Jiyong.”
“Wait a moment, please.”
Jiyong watched the ceiling while the receptionist was checking the messages.
“I’m sorry, there aren’t any messages, Mr. Kwon.”
“Thank you.” he said dejectedly. The whole day, the only thing he had thought about was if Taeyeon had called him. Now he knew the answer.
Disappointed, he went toward the elevator. He needed to accept the fact: maybe she would never call him. It was hard to come back home and see how excited his teammates were to see their girlfriends and wives.
