Dr. CHo Kyuhyun as a kid back then never really like the company of his friends and he brought this trait all along up until he was highschool. He doesn’t like the presence of his classmates. Let us say, he prefers people who are older than him by five years...six years...eight years.

“Son,” Kyuhyun’s mother called out.

“Yeah?” he answered without even looking up from the book he’s reading.

Kyuhyun’s mother put down the curtain that she’s about to put up and sighed. “Why you don’t like going out with your friends? You just like sticking with your hyung’s friend, I mean it’s not that bad but-”

“I just don’t want.” Kyuhyun deadpanned.

“Why?” his mother can’t help but to ask.

“Well, all they think is love, boyfriend, girlfriend!”

Kyuhyun’s mother smiled. Kyuhyun has a point. Youngster these days think nothing but romance who is unlike his son who does nothing but read books.

But that one attitude changed when Kyuhyun met their new neighbor of them. His hyung introduced the guy to him. He was around his age. Actually, Kyuhyun thought of him as an eyesore. This new kid in town wears pastel-ish clothes while smiling like an idiot in a broad daylight.

As if there is a reason to smile about.

Everyday went all same-like. The boy smiles at him whenever they met outside, the boy waves him hello in school, the boy greets his mother, the boy cahoots with his brother. And Kyuhyun...Kyuhyun seems to enjoy the bliss in silence.

This guy might be different from the typical youngsters in school but that kind of smile will not make Kyuhyun his friend.

Up until he saw the guy crying one time at the park while clutching his bleeding hand.

Kyuhyun who seem to feel a certain pinch in his heart decided not to ignore the kid and let his feet brought him to where this guy was seated.

“Wha-what happened?” he asked.

And Kyuhyun swore he had never seen such beautiful smiling face in his entire life.

Kyuhyun chuckled and pulled the bleeding hand to his, nodded his head sideways and whispered.

“All right let’s take care of your hand and then we can be friends after.”

The guy scratched his eyes and smiled.

“Really?”

“Name?”

“Lee Sungmin. And you?”

“Cho Kyuhyun, at your service.”

And their Fate was tangled like that not knowing that in some years after, they would be more than friends.
