Meeting The New Neighbor
My Heart Stops (When I See You Smile)Sehun's POV
It was Spring when we were going to shift into a new house.
Even though I hated this shifting thing because I was going to live far away from my best friend, I couldn't help but get a little excited along with my sisters. How can I not when our supposed new house had a huge freaking swimming pool and a great looking backyard? My mom even told us that we will be having our own individual bedrooms which meant no more sharing of the beds.
Thank god!
When Dad pulled over into our new garage, my sisters started being all chatty and loud and ran inside to explore our mansion like a house as soon as Mom opened the front door. I wanted to follow them too, curious about how it looked from the inside, where my room would be and how I would like to arrange it but my Dad had asked me to help him with the boxes, so being the obedient son I was, I nodded and walked over to the vehicle. These boxes looked heavy and I wondered how I was going to get them down but soon enough the kind workers came to my rescue.
"Leave this to us, kid." The one with ash-gray hair said while the other held one of our packages and put it down rather coolly.
"Yeah. You go and explore the new neighborhood or something. I have heard they got a nice forest around s'mwhere." He smiled as he turned to get another one down. I wanted to reply with an okay and walk away but then I saw my Dad coming towards and as if I had suddenly possessed some future-seeing power, my mind showed me what follows next if I did so. No don't judge my Dad because he really is very cool but that does not mean we could just disobey his words. He didn't like it one bit. My sisters have been into a lot of heated arguments with him and have been grounded for a week or so. And now that we were in a new place, being grounded was last thing on my mind. Hence, ignoring those workers' suggestion, I quickly grabbed a small box which luckily didn't weigh much and was ready to go when a giggle-like sound startled me. It wasn't from those workers who were working diligently, their voice was too hoarse. Neither it was my Dad's deep voice which was at the moment, commanding them. And it, for sure, wasn't me either..so... I quickly turned around to see where it came from only to be met with a smiling little girl. To say I wasn't scared would be a lie because her smile really creeped me out and her missing front tooth didn't help at all.
"Hi," She said, her voice soft and as smooth as a lullaby. "Are you guys new here?" She asked happily and before I could answer her, she grabbed a small box and grinned. "Well, let me help you with the-"
"-hey! Hey! Put that down!" I saw my Dad rushing towards her and taking the box which was labeled as 'BREAKABLES' from her smaller hands.
"What are you doing?" He asked.
"Was just helping. I thought you needed some." She said casually before glancing my way.
"So where do we start?" This girl really was stubborn. One of those kids who really liked to force themselves on someone and I didn't like it- neither did my Dad.
"Aren't you supposed to be home? What if your Mom gets worried?" He asked, pulling her away from another box she had scooted over to.
" Oh, that's not a problem. Mama knows I'm here!" She shrugged.
"We just live across."
Oh boy. This was not good. Nope. Not at all. I had imagined everything in this new neighborhood but a clingy neighbor was never on my list. Imagining the cons and pros alone gave me a severe headache.
"Well, little girls like you shouldn't be wandering alone. It's dangerous, so go home and play with your dolls." Dad said and had just turned to leave when she made her way in front of him.
"Excuse me, Sir but I am not a girl. I am a boy, a very manly one at that and nothing is dangerous for me!" Her words though really surprised me and I couldn't help but look at her in amusement. She was a he? But she was too pretty and fragile to be a boy. And with her hairs tied up, she sure didn't look like a boy to me. Was she trying to decieve us or something? Was it some trick of hers to become my friend?
"Would you like to meet the other kids? I can show you ar-"
"No, he can't. He has things to do, right Sehun?" Dad looked at me and winked, a gesture to play along with him and I did. There was no reason not to. I was, in no way going to associate myself with such weirdo. I loved my life simple and normal and this girl or guy or whatever she/he was, didn't deem fit for my preference. Even Jongin would hate this girl in a heartbeat because he hated such kind of kids too.
"Yep," I replied and jumped off the liftgate, heading towards our new home. I heard voices and I knew he was following but I could be wrong. Maybe he
