{ characters }

Kim Sungkyu: 18. Cute, shy, nice boy.  Next in line to be the heir for a large company. Quiet, but more than determined to have his way.

Shin Taeyong: 18. Pretty, smart, and loud. She’s not afraid to be herself, and will rarely ever try to hide her emotions. She is pretty simple; she just wants what’s best for her family and herself.

Nam Woohyun: 18. Caring, goofy, and kind of choding. He’s a funny personality, but knows when to be serious and has a warm heart for others. He’s usually open and compatible with everyone.

Part of me felt really, really terrible. The other part of me rejoiced a little.

Maybe I shouldn’t have pulled her into this mess of business and my family. Maybe I should have picked a girl that would have given me higher chances to become the heir. Maybe I should have called the entire thing quits, and gotten married at a normal age.

But I was 18, marrying Shin Taeyong, and more than ready to fight for her.

I was 18, and marrying Kim Sungkyu.

He was exactly “my type:” cute, quiet, a little shy but intelligent. He spoke softly, eyes crinkling into tiny smiling crescents easily.

He didn’t seem like the type to really be the CEO of three major companies. But then again, I didn’t seem like the type to get married fresh out of high school.

I had no regrets.

You know when you watch a drama, and there’s always that guy who isn’t as good as the main guy lead, just a friend?

The one that calls her every day; asking her how she is, calming her when she’s mad, making her laugh when she’s crying. Loving her, confessing to her, and eventually getting rejected anyway?

Yeah, I’d rather be that guy.

Rather than just her miserable cousin, watching her big dreams come true without a word to stop her. Not being able to tell her that I love her, because I’m her cousin.
