Flashback: March 25, 2007

‘ Art is life. Art is forever. Vita brevis, ars longa. Just like I love art, I want love to flow through every

vein in my body. New York is a huge city, but I have yet to find a girl to make my heart beat. Maybe it’s because

I am too focused, but I’m scared: I want to love somebody.

As I was walking, listening to Kanye’s new album, I accidentally bumped into a girl. Her books fell to the ground,

and I stood there motionless. Her eyes were a beautiful hue of brown that caved me in. She was the one, and I

didn’t know how I knew it, but I felt it in my heart. But before I could apologize, the girl left. My world came

crashing down because I thought I lost my chance of falling in love. However, fate was on my side, when I walked

into class, and she was sitting with an empty seat beside her. I decided to sit next to her, changing my world

forever. ‘

Present: March 25, 2017

Chaeyoung: Mina, what happened to me?

Mina: You almost died after being hit by a car while walking across the street. You were in a coma for a year.

After waking up, you suffered from amnesia and forgot only me. The doctor said forgetting me may have been due to

trauma and fear. The doctor advised me to stay away from you, so I left Columbia for a year and graduated a year

later.  ‘ The pain was unbearable. ‘ But when I returned, you were gone. I spent the past nine years searching for

you. It’s ironic I found you at a random party in Chicago.
