 in the summer joe come home to only find his wife and son zack eating breakfast. He but down shes suitcase and looked around for daniel, because daniel was the first person who always open the the door when he comes home. He open the door to daniel room only to find the room empty. He went downstairs to ask his wife where daniel is. she said with smile he is in korea. “What do you mean his in korea” joe asked with a confused tone. “His in korea” she said again. “I Understand that but why is he there” “i thought it was time for him to learn his family background" she said. Joe was still confused “ so you just sent him to korea alone without telling me” joe said  “ yeah what's wrong with that”  "what do you mean what's wrong with that you send a 14 year old to a place he never been to” joe said with angry tone. “ still don't get what's wrong with that his with my sister anyways” she said “ then why didn't you also send zack to korea to.” joe asked “will he need finish high school he has i year left”  joe got up to get his stuff and was about to leave when mina asked were you going. "I am going to korea to get daniel"  joe said  “ what do you mean you're going to korea”. "I'm going to get daniel and bring him home".  Dad zack distracted them it's been almost 6 monthssince he left to korea, he said he really likes it there zack lied. He said he made a lot of friends and everyone is really nice there Zack said. Joe put his suitcase down and asked mina to call her sister he wanted to talk to daniel. “It's night time there everyone is sleeping already”. Mina said “okay the first  thing in the morning were calling them”. They had dinner while joe mumbled it didn't seem the same without daniel out loud. Both mina and zack look at him while he mumbled the words. In the morning joe got the phone and waked his wife up to call her sister. She sighed saying really right know she dialed the number in, Her sister picked up. joe grabbed the phone hey somin is daniel there with you he asked. Mina signed again i just told you his with her. Oh hey joe she said his at school right known. “Is he fine”  joe asked worried “yes he's alright” she replied. “I will tell him you called when he comes back from school”  thank you for looking after him joe said as he hang up. “I told you he's fine i don't know why you always worrying about him” mina said. “ maybe the day you started seeing him as your own son I will stop worrying".  He said while he put the phone down. Mina called her sister after joe left the room. She told her not to tell daniel his father called. Somin tried to ask why but mina already hang up. So somin never told daniel his father called him

Daniel is starting his sophomore year of high school. His korean was still bad he only knew the simple words and phrase. His cousin minsu would stay up with him and teach him. He was getting better day by day because of her. When minsu graduated from high school. daniel hated it cause know he knew he would be all alone again.  With no one to eat lunch with or to talk to at school. Minsu was the only friend he had, she look after him like he was her younger brother. She always protected him when someone tried to bully him mostly his older cousin jimin who hated him. Jimin was one year older than daniel. Minsu helped daniel come come up a korean name that would fit him. It took them weeks until they finally got one . It was 3 in the morning and minsu came in daniel and jimin room waking daniel up. when he oped his eyes he saw minsu with big smile on her face. With high pitch voice she said she got the perfect name for daniel. He look at time surprised “it's 3 in the morning noona.” he said  “oh i didnt know its was that late i last control of time thinking of a name for you. Anyways i got you the perfect name that fit you”. She said with a smile. “What is it daniel asked while rubbing his eyes  “CHANGKYUN”  huh daniel said. “CHANGKYUN” she replied do you like it. Yeah daniel said okay good from know on your changkyun okay. He nodded okay “can I go back to sleep know noona”. He asked. She was so excited she gives him a hug. he tried to ask her what the hug was for but he was to sleepy to ask. Minsu went back to her room. Every Day when Minsu came from her college classes she would help daniel with his korean. She stated to shorten the name changkyun to kyunkyun . He didn't mind her calling him that. But his new nickname did last long when his cousin minsu died in a car accident weeks later. He remembered sitting in class when the teacher told him his uncle is waiting for him outside. He went outside and saw his cousin going in the car he got in the car to. it was quite the whole way to the hospital. His uncle didn't say anything. They stooped at seoul hospital daniel was confused he looked at his uncle. who broke that silent saying minsu was in a car accident. daniel jumped out of the car and run inside the hospital jimin was behind him. He saw his aunt crying she ran up to both of the boys giving them a hug. Jimin asked his mom “is noona alright amma” she look at them and nod her head no.” they tooked her to the surgery room just know” Jimin mom said. daniel saw the doctor and 4 nurses walking out of the surgery room. They went up to his uncle and told him they were sorry they did everything they could. His uncle held to on to the wall before he could fall. His aunt was hugging jimin crying. jimin also lost his coolness and started crying. Daniel felled on ground gasping for air when the nurses try to help him breathe but fainted from the shock.
