Chapter 1: The "when people say it’s not you and it’s them, they mean it” line resonated so much. The beauty of this story lies within the ability or lack thereof of people to love themselves. I guess we often romanticize the idea of two people finding each other and falling in love that we actually fail to see the process of accepting the love we think we deserve. And we often think that the love we give them is enough to fuel them, not realizing that we can only give so much.

This fanfic is a reminder that loving and seeing a person in our own certain way might be different from the way they do themselves. Jessica here thought the world of Tiffany, whereas Tiffany saw herself unworthy not only of Jessica but also in general. See how dangerous that set-up was? Nothing would ever be enough because while Jessica gives, Tiffany does not receive. The reason of their break up was clearly because Tiffany has failed to love herself, and no amount of love from other people can fill the void inside her. That is why Jessica's "dont be hard on yourself" answer was not at all comforting; as if it was just that easy to do, as if Tiffany had not tried doing just that.

The part about Tiffany having the constant thought of losing Jessica that consequently makes her lose her mind as well tells a lot about how Tiffany has already set her mind on the inevitable, the end, and nothing could change her mind. Tiffany is like a time bomb just waiting to combust. And her reason being? That she isn't worth staying for. This was clearly shown when it was explained that they had been an on-again off-again couple. Something had always hold Tiffany back.

The other thing that made this story so powerful is Jessica's need to know. She did deserve an explanation. She really did, and boy did it kill her not to know. I wish I could say that she was blindsided, that she didnt see that coming, but when you've been doing the break up process again and again, wouldnt you think something is wrong? That isnt to say that the burden of figuring out lies on her, Tiffany should have said something. But the thing is, how can someone explain something to you when they themselves cannot fathom the concept, or the idea, or the feeling. How can you give something that you do not have?

Tiffany, in the present moment of this story is lost. No matter what Jessica do, she will always be out of her reach. AND THAT IS WHY THEY WERE BREAKING UP. Eventually, Tiffany will learn to heal and love, and find her way back, and hopefully if it is meant to be, Jessica is there to welcome her home.

To everyone demanding a sequel, the ending was PERFECT already! It reflects that everyone and everything is a work in progress, and that resolution is not always readily available.

To the author, sorry dami kong feels ahahaha. Please never lose your passion for writing. This was so good!! You were able to explain the side that people often deem as the bad one - the one that leaves and hurts and breaks. You were able to talk about why they choose to do those things, and what their reasons were. Question, where did you get the inspiration? Hahaha is the story based on personal experience? Okay, sorry feeling close. I FEEL LIKE YOU COULD BE THE KIND OF PERSON I WANT TO BE FRIENDS WITH (omg can we be friends???????). I CAN MAYBE GIVE YOU SOME WRITING PROMPTS YOU COULD WORK WITH?
