━ { the one and only

Lauren entered the dance studio at her usual time to see it empty with a sigh, she sat her bags on the bench before walking to the speakers and plugging her phone in. Hip Hop music flowing through the speakers, filling the room. She stretched, removing her jacket, rolling her neck. Stretching her arms, the door opened. The year 2 watched as Areum walked in setting her stuff on the bench, the rebel removing her jacket starting to stretch her legs. The two didn’t speak a word, as the door opened again this time, Nell walking in. As the three stretched in silence, the door opening again, Eunjeong followed by Jinhee walked in. The five sat on the ground staring at their feet not sure if Yumi was going to walk through that door.

“Let’s give this one our all.” Nell said, the girls looked at the oldest in the mirror and nodded.

“This is our last shot. Let’s do this with no regrets.” Areum stand standing up.

The door opened, the girls all standing up, eyes filled with hope as they traveled to the door.

“Why haven’t you guys started yet?” Yumi asked, the girls smiling at her as she set her stuff down.

Lauren had finished recording her parts of the MR as the day came to an end, she exited the studio to see the girls all standing together waiting on the dancer, she rushed down the hall to them and put her arms around Eunjeong and Jinhee with a smile.

"Cafe?" She asked they all nodded, since they had more practices then ever the past couple weeks due to the Final Showcase growing closer with special stages they rarely saw each other outside of school. Eunjeong wasn't working, Jinhee didn't have vocal rehearsals, Yumi and Nell weren't practicing, as Areum didn't have a session to attend the group wanted to hang out again. There the six chatted away about their practices, they are preparing for the Top 8 battle, which was at least two weeks away. This battle decided the Top 4, it was almost over. They joked around and talked, a few other students seemed to be wearing a Science school uniform watching them from across the room.

"The song sounds good, though." Yumi said as her and Areum talked about the competition, two girls walked over shyly.

"Uh. Excuse me?" The girl caught their attention, the six turned to her all wearing blank faces. "Um. Are you guys Meraki?" She asked, smiles spread across their faces they all nodded. "Ah. Right. I go to the Science school down the road, my friends and I are big fans of yours." She said gesturing to the group of girls taking pictures of the performers.

Yumi smiled to her and thanked her as she turned to walk away. They all smiled to each other. Yumi's phone rang looking at the ID, confusion filled her face the girls watched as she picked up. "Hello? Yes, I'm with them. Okay, PDnim." She hung up and looked even more confused. Turning the group, she put on her jacket. "Jung PD said to go to his work studio." She said they all nodded and put on their jackets following their leader.

They all looked at the building in front of them in awe, when a familiar face spotted them in front.

"Oh. What are you guys doing here?" Ms. Lee asked standing in front of them blocking Jinhee's view of the building, Yumi told her what Jung PD said and she motioned them to follow her.

As they walked through the building where actual idols walked made their hearts race, posters of several groups whom competed before them covered the walls their eyes wondering around as they walked through the hall. Once Ms. Lee reached a room she opened the door the girls walked in bowing to Jung PD as they took a seat on the couch behind him.

"Alright. You know the song Areum and Lauren made choreo for like two months ago," Jung PD asked the girls nodded, confused on why he would bring up the song that only had been joke between the girls. "Well, it's finished, I think if you take this to the Top 8, you will make it into the Top 4. With the little help of someone." He said just as the door opened the girls all looked at the door and stood quickly bowing as the person waved to them.

"Long time no see Soyoung." He said hugging Ms. Lee, "Taejoon." Jung PD nodded to the man that stood in front of the shocked teenagers.

"Girls, meet my old dance teacher or as the world knows of him now as JYP." Ms. Lee said with a smile, Lauren nearly fainted, her idol stood in front of her.

"Taejoon-ah and Soyoung-ah have been showing me all of your practices and performances. I think you all have a lot of potential. Let’s work well together." He said smiling as he sat in the other chair next to Jung PD.

"Neh!" They all answered in unison smiles on their faces.

Since that day, they practiced in the JYP building with JYP every other day as a check in day. The girls never felt so blessed since they started there they practiced in a legit company and worked with the JYP. As the group stretched in the company practice room, the door opened in walked in JYP. They all bowed as he smiled.

“One last run through.” He said smiling at the girls whom nodded and got in their positions.
