Second ChancesTaeyeon’s point of view
“Youngie!” I called out Wooyoung’s name as soon as I spotted him in the meadow. He was lying against a tree, and the expression he had on his face was one of calmness that did not change even though I was pretty sure he had heard me. I mean, how could he not when I called out so loudly?
Annoyed, I called him yet again, expecting a response this time. Seeing a lack of response from him a second time, I frowned, wondering what on earth was wrong.
The worst situations suddenly came to mind as my mind went wild. Could something bad have happened to him? No, it can’t be!
“Youngie!” I called another time, almost pleadingly, hoping for a reaction. After what seemed like eternity, Wooyoung seemed to stir and a frown came onto his face. Seeing a reaction from him, I immediately heaved a sigh of relief. I watched him as he slowly opened his eyes and stared in blank space for a while, trying to adjust to the light. He looked adorable like that but that is besides the point, hehe.
His gaze then found me, and his eyes widened. It was evident he did not believe what he saw, and I gave a smirk at the dumbfounded expression he had on his face. He then broke out into the biggest smile I’ve seen all these years. I could not help but smile back as well.
He quickly got up on his feet, before he bit his lip to contain his smile. He started walking closer towards me.
“Taeyeon-ah, what are you doing here?”
Aish, this guy. What do you think I’m doing here?!
Instead of answering his question, I directed the question back at him. “Then what are you doing here?”
He looked confused. “Me? I’m… taking a nap.”
His answer made me laugh. “Here? I’m pretty sure you have a bed at home.”
“Well… it’s not as comfortable.” He answered sheepishly.
“Pabo.”
The atmosphere between us turned slightly awkward once our conversation ended as we both did not know what to say. We just looked in different directions in silence, occasionally sneaking a peek at each other. It was a long while before any of us spoke, and Wooyoung broke the silence by holding out his hand.
“Let’s go for a walk!” He said a little too brightly, which made me giggle. Wooyoung wasn’t usually like this. I then placed my hand on his, and our fingers intertwined. Our hands fit perfectly.
We continued our walk in silence but this time, the silence was comfortable and we both enjoyed each other’s presence. The scenery around us was beautiful and the weather was perfect. We came across a patch of purple flowers growing near a tall, sturdy tree and I immediately stopped in my tracks to admire them, because purple flowers are my favorite. Wooyoung noticed and he stopped as well.
“They are so pretty!” I cooed, as I let go of his hand for a moment to bend down and smell the pretty purple flowers.
Wooyoung bent down as well, and plucked a blooming purple flower before giving it to me.
“Yah! You’re not supposed to pluck them!”
Wooyoung was taken aback before he put on an indignant expression. “Look who’s the one talking! How about all those times when you plucked almost every flower you laid your eyes on?”
