The word, the voice, from the other line: a random call I made one time, that telling me not to run away from him, the pleading boy, who needs me beside him, the only man who shook my world every time he smiles, the guy who treats me like I’m the rose from the bed of thorns, the one I love the most and somehow he made me feel I was his too

 

I gripped the slippery handle of my bath tub and rose from deeping my soul under the water of guiltiness, I rested my back against the tiled bath tub, and brushed my hair away from my face; I’m back from no one knows where I was, my relatives here in Korea, my friends and the guy that is always on my mind:

I am working as an assistant for creative filming, and due to my luck I am under his team, I thought when he sees me back, He will be happy but my two weeks of stay is not a pleasant one after all, He ignored me all the time, and just treat me like a regular employee

 

I am happy for him, He achieved his dream to become a director; He directs various drama and all are hits, he truly have the talent and the passion like the days we are still in the university

 

“Jin? Jin?”A familiar voice called me and shoved me a little to wake me up from my day dreaming

 

“Oh, Sorry?” I apologized to SoYou my friend back in college who happened to work under JongDae too

 

Her boyfriend ChanYeol who’s a DJ along with their other friends put up a company for entertainment, and SoYou who loves dramas work under JongDae, that’s why I met her again after years of disappearance, she still adjusting too like everyone else with my surprised come back, I still feel the warmth of our friendship, I’m glad she’s still the SoYou I knew

 

“Come on, It's lunch time.” She asked me to join with her and with out other colleagues 

 

I nodded and excused myself in a bit and run to JongDae, who's not too far reviewing the scripts for his drama, His eyebrows are furrowed together; he is truly hardworking

 

“PD-nim, Would you like…”I was in the middle of asking him but he cut me off mid sentence and declined my offer, not bothering even to look at me a bit and just continue with his works

 

“Sorry, For disturbing you.” I apologized before giving him a deep bow and retreating from where I was standing and left him alone; like he always wants me to do

 

JongDae’s POV

 

The girl, I always happy to be at my side ever since I was a toddler until I learn counting and reading ABCs, is still with me until we are entering the university. She was my best friend since our mothers are best of friends too, I know its cliche story of how we knew each other but it was the way what it is, our mothers agreed that we live the same floor at the same apartment, and their husbands agreed with the decision, WonHee Imo got pregnant first; and back in September 1991; a baby girl was born and a year after; like it was planned by my mother; I was born also in the same month

 

They send us both in the same school from kindergarten; who everyone in the class who wants her to be there princess  when playtime,

 

In grade school; who everyone likes to hear her sing, In high school; when every boys want to ask her in the prom

 

and in college; who was admire by everyone because she’s a combination of beauty, brains and talents but he choose me from the hundred who made an attempt

 

It was all perfect, I, pursuing directing as a major and her in literature since she loves reading and writing; We got into unlabel relationship but happy and contented not until one semestral break that I thought she was just having vacation overseas with her parents to visit her grandmother turned out to be her hide out, no emails, calls or even a message if she was still alive, even her parents didn’t contact mine and the address she gave to me in Canada was the old address that her grandparents used to have before they moved to a new one upon my research with the help of my friends, We are like cat and mouse and she was good in the game I don’t even agreed to play at

 

I was total mess when she left, so that’s the consequence of loving someone all your life, believing she well never leave your side, the least person you expected to hurt you but turned out to be the first one to leave you hanging in the air and giving you puzzle pieces that you need to put together all alone and now when you’re totally fine or at least doing all good, she had the nerve to comeback and worked at the same company as you; like a total stalker and didn’t think what I would really feel, like she was planning it all this time
