i. what is 소년 VS 소녀 ?
it's season 3 of produce 101 where they've gathered 101 trainees from 52 different companies to compete in this survival reality tv show, which is publicised and heavily edited because that's mnet for you.
ii. what makes season 3 so different from the past two seasons?
season 3 isn't all that different actually. it's actually just both of the former seasons combined - giving you the best of both worlds - in short, season 3 has both male and female trainees participating.
iii. so why the 소년 VS 소녀 part
as if pitting the trainees against each other wasn't enough - they also had to turn the show into a battle of the es because if theres one thing that never gets old, it's rivalry and
iv. what to expect
a popularity contest as per usual. where a trainee's popularity and how well recieved one was by the general public would ultimately determine where they stood in the hierachy [basically how much screentime they get] no matter the skills, seniority or talent. the popular ones are always mnet's favourite ones. also expect to see some very familiar faces [former s1 and s2 participants wooo].

i. the trainees are between the ages of 2002 - 1992 though i'm not all too strict if you want to make them older or younger
ii. this is obvious but i don't mind whether you use idols, models, trainees, actors and actresses, ulzzangs or whatever
iii. if theres nothing worth mentioning in their background, don't go out of your way to write 2 paragraphs just because everyone else is. say, your character's life growing up was average and they wanted to become an idol because they an idol group on tv and were awestruck by them - you don't need to destroy your brain cells to write an essay and 2 film adaptations about it. just mention it somewhere in the trivia and we'll live. with that being said, if you do want to write an autobiography - no one's stopping you
iv. love interests. they're optional and can be anyone, even ocs and fellow applicants/produce 101 participants [we encourage using s1 and s2 trainees] did i mention love interests = automatic entry to participating in season 3 [lol] they're your plus-one essentially
v. feel free to add friends and other trainees [ocs] as participants on the show. they will probably have honourable mentions and will save a lot of brain cells from total obliteration for when one of us is in dire need of background characters and extras [lol]
vi. i want to say, try to abstain from making trainees from the big 3 but that might be an interesting concept to work with so go hard or go home. obviously, we can't have everyone come from jyp or cube though so let's see a healthy mix of trainees from relatively unknown or underrated companies and also trainees from well known ones. you can also make up your own companies too
vii. nothing about the trainees of produce 101 have been revealed to the public yet. there is rumours of this and that, speculations of which companies are sending in their trainees but overall - zilch. the revelation will be in a similar fashion to the previous seasons - such releasing profiles of all 101 trainees, the trainees' introduction and promotional videos etc

iii. song suggestions for the group battles will be [aju] nice
iv. has applying been mentioned yet be thats top notch
v. personally, would find it easier to grasp personalities if you were to write it in the form of headcanons because it's straight to the point and much easier to discern certain details and quirks of their personality + them as a character
vi. disregard that^ if it's too confusing though
vii. let us see fire international trainees yes
viii. jin longguo, yoo seonho and takada kenta are taken as visuals
