((A/N: So this is a little excerpt I wrote after finishing this story. All it does is bring more feels into this short story. Not mandatory to read))

Namjoon felt the flames eat at the sides of his body as he layed in the hallway with Jimin. The exit was clearly destroyed, the ceiling already breaking slightly. He knew the consequences of his actions before he set foot in the apartment, but now the pain is getting to him. He would be screaming if he could, but every breath sent smoke to his lungs and forced coughs to come out instead. He held the smaller, sick boy in his arms, trying to shield him from the flames. There were broken sobs and screams coming from Jimin, his voice rough from the cold and his cries only making the older hurt more. He heard the words that Jimin made up, a jumble of “Yoongi”, “help”, and “I don’t want to die”. He coughed and coughed until his vision blurred. The heat was burning away his skin, the gruesome smell of burning flesh filling the room as he held Jimin closer. Jimin’s cries were full of pain and sorrow, knowing that he would never be able to see his loved one, let alone live for another day. It was the end of both of them, but the pain they experience was only meant for nightmares. Their nightmares had become a reality as Namjoon stops breathing, dead in his spot as his arms now trap the younger in a cage. It’s too late for both of them, so Jimin stops his crying and screaming. He’s going to be dead in a few minutes. His life doesn’t flash before his eyes, nor does time slow down. The only thought in Jimin’s mind as he watches the flames grow in front of his eyes is hope that Yoongi and the others will find happiness again.
