A/N: 7012
Saying I Love YouAnyone find it sadly ironic that our favorite show is ending in 2017? 2017 is 7012 in a messed up order...
Yes, Running Man is ending in February 2017. This past week has been full of hurt, confusion, worry, anger, and sadness on the fans', members', and even the production staffs' parts. It is all culminating in an ending with all the members (including Jongkook and Jihyo; fans are hoping for Gary's final return- and I am too) continuing until the final episode is released. I cannot say this is really a "better" outcome than their original screwed up plan to have Jongkook and Jihyo fired and make a 2nd season with a slew of seasoned entertainers, but I think a lot of people prefer this outcome. When we say 7012, we really, REALLY mean it, and I think the production staff finally understood that and came to the conclusion of ending it all.
It's just so sad to see my favorite show go like this... my source of laughter for the entire one and a half years since I started watching. It leaves me feeling unsatisfied- there were so many more places for them to go, so many ideas they haven't tried out. It's sad that such a great, refreshing, and creative show with so many talented people had to end because of sloppiness, greed, and miscommunication. They screwed up, no doubt. And this is the terrible, AVOIDABLE (had they not attempted to act like jerks and fire Jongkook and Jihyo in such a manner) consequence.
As it is, this has been my favorite variety show, and I'll be watching it too the end. I'm very very grateful to all of the members, so I'll say my thanks to them here.
Yoo Jae Suk- Jae Suk deserves, as Korea's Number 1 Host, and as the most modest guy ever- all the accolades he gets and more. I gladly watch any show he's on. But I liked him best on Running Man because in it, it shows that he is a lot more than a guy on a pedestal. The members in Running Man each feel relatively equal (despite uneven screentime as of late), like friends or a family, and so it doesn't feel like this is "Jae Suk's Show and his Sidekicks". He's a member; he's family, and that's the way I like him. Thank you for all the laughs, for your quick wit, for the way you draw all the members together and take care of all the guests- I will continue to watch you in MuDo and Happy Together.
Ji Suk Jin- This Race Starter doesn't give up. Despite being the oldest and weakest member of the show, he perservered, episode after episode (in which he only won about 2 times individually) and was there to bring us laughter, to try his hardest, and encourage us to keep on going. I am so proud of Suk Jin-oppa. Thank you for sticking around even when times got hard; for working hard to make us laugh even at your own expense at times. I will be watching out for you in other shows!
Haha- Haha's always been one of my favorites. He's cunning and quick-witted; the underdog who succeeds when you least expect. I always root for him second to Gary. He always makes me laugh, personally, ever since that one scene in an old, old episode where he carried a doll and immaturely took pictures of himself posing like the doll. Congrats on your second baby! I will continue to watch you in MuDo, where you are my actual favorite ;D
Lee Kwang Soo- I give Kwangsoo a hard time because I know how popular he is. But secretly I really really like Kwangsoo, and he deserves all the love he gets. He's nice to fans, hilarious, caring towards his friends and his noona, modest, hardworking... even if he portrays a fool or a betrayer on the show... If I were to calculate the number of times I have laughed while watching RM, probably 50% of the laughs would be because of our beloved giraffe xD Kwangsoo, I know you'll have more show opportunities in the future. No one would let go of such an entertainment gem like you. Even if it's not like Running Man, I'll still be watching whatever you're on, especially all your dramas. I have probably watched more than 3/4 of your dramas and movies, and I'll continue to watch your shows in the future~ Fighting!
To the Jongkook and Jihyo, who I already thanked- Thanks for being willing to film to the end. You guys had it the toughest... It's not easy to come back after getting kicked on. I am, and always have been, so proud of you and love how loyal you are.
Gary Gaelly and Joongki (and Lizzy, even)- Make one last appearance? Pretty please? It'd mean the world to me. And all the other fans. Especially Gary, my forever favorite.
And to all the production staffs who actually cared for the members and who worked so hard for this show to exist- Thanks for the hard work. Controversy aside, you did make a show that I have loved for so long, and I am so glad that RM came into existince. It's partly because of you, so thank you.
Guys, I am going to continue writing, as I said previously... but give me some time to recover from this news, and I'll be back soon. Stay strong.
