He grabbed me by the waist and pulled me towards him. “You’re still my mine, you’re still my woman!” He exclaimed. Before I knew it, he was kissing me. His right hand wrapped around my waist, his left hand on my neck.
I was having an internal battle. I wanted to enjoy the moment, I wanted to be carried away by the pleasure of feeling his lips, of forgetting everything that’s happened. I placed my hands on his chest, moving them up to his shoulders. I knew if lock my arms around his neck, nothing else could be done. I’d be his again, for sure.
I aimed my every strength into my hands and I pushed him away. I was breathing heavily. “A stolen kiss doesn’t change anything.” I said and walked away.
“It’s not stolen if you enjoyed it!” He exclaimed.
I quickly exited the building. I may want to destroy him, but it appears that this might be a double-edged sword. If I’m not careful, I’ll end up on his bed again. And for my pride I can’t let that happen.
I remembered his words: “Stop lying. I didn’t send you anything.” What if he really didn’t send the papers? I shook my head. “Don’t believe him. He probably just lied to get what he wants.”
I was closing the door of my apartment when my phone started ringing.
“Hello, Ari.” I answered.
“Sajangnim, sorry for calling you this late. But, you have an early appointment tomorrow.” She said.
“With a possible buyer.”
“Who is he?”
“A young Chaebol. He didn’t want to give me the name for his group. The Director of Finance interviewed him and he passed his filter.”
I bit my inner lip. “Ok. What time?”
“I’ll be there.” I said and hung up.
I went to bed right away. I couldn’t sleep. I laid down on my stomach and stared at the balcony. “What if he didn’t ask for the divorce?” I sighed. “Stop think about it. After Paris, I’ll be dumb if I ever fall into his games again. Maybe I should just leave and forget about this stupid revenge, for I feel I’ll be the one trapped and the biggest loser in all this.”
I arrived very early the next day. I was watching the city landscape with my arms crossed. “I will miss this view.” I thought.
I heard screams... Screams you would hear in a concert. I quickly walked outside. I gasped. “Ji Yong.” Ari was standing in front of him.
“Miss Haro Sajangnim has a meeting right now.” She said.
He smirked. “I’m the one she’s expecting. We have a meeting scheduled for 8 AM.” Everyone in the office was standing up, staring at him. Even the male employees were totally mesmerized by seeing Ji Yong standing in the middle of our office.
I had my eyes wide-opened. Ari looked at me, asking me with her eyes what she should do. I looked at Ji Yong again, he was smiling. Obviously, he was enjoying the chaos that he just created.
I got my act together and smiled: “Welcome, Mr. Kwon.” I said and walked towards him, as I reached him, I bowed. He looked at me a little bit surprised. He bowed his head. I pointed to the front towards my office. We started walking. He opened the door for Ari and I.
“I like your office.” He said while looking around. He walked to the living area and turned to look at me. I started to get nervous.
“Should I bring something for you to drink?” Ari asked.
“No. He won’t be staying long.” I said. “You can leave.” Ari walked to the door.
Ji Yong stared at her. “Please close the door, it’ll be better if you lock it.” He smirked. I flinched after hearing his innuendo.
I heard the door closing. “What are you doing here?” I asked, mortified.
“What do you think I’m here for?” He started walking towards me.
“Stop.” I said and held up my hands. He didn’t stop, he stood in front of me. We locked eyes for a brief moment before I looked down.
He started walking again and sat on a chair in front of my desk. “I’m here to buy your company.” He said.
“What?” I asked more puzzled than before.
“I met your Directors, I met some of your Investors, they agree with me and they say I should be the new owner of your company.” He leaned on his chair.
I walked to the opposite side of the desk. “You’re kidding, right?”
“Why else would I be here?” He slightly shook his head.
“I thought…” He interrupted me. “Oh! You thought I was here because of you?”
“I- I. Of course, not.” I sat on my chair, the moment he mentioned my company I suppressed my feelings and I started attacking him with questions. “How do you see Dramafy five years from now? Do you think work-life balance is important? What would be the first thing you would do as the owner of the company? Would you reduce the staff? What would you like to accomplish in long-term?” No matter what I asked, he nailed every question. What you need to know about Ji Yong is although, he’s a celebrity, he’s really good with businesses. If he wasn’t the amazing song-writer and star he’s right now, he’d probably be a young Chaebol.
He lifted his hands. “So?”
I sighed, bit my upper lip, and nodded. “Okay. Do you know how much I’m asking for?”
“Of course. I think it’s worth it.” He quickly answered.
“We’re done then. My legal department will contact your lawyers.” I stood up and walked to the door. I was opening it when Ji Yong closed it. He had his hand on the door, he was standing behind me. “What are you doing?” I whispered.
“Our meeting finished five minutes ago. At 8 AM I was here for your company. It’s 9 AM, I’m here for you now.”
I swallowed hard. “Don’t do this.” I whispered again. I’m so weak when I’m with him like this, when he’s just inches away from me, it’s like his body sends a signal to mine and I become a chaos inside, a chaos of passion and lust.
“I want you.” He softly said. I could feel his breathing on the right side of my neck. I closed my eyes and leaned my head towards him. He placed his hands on my hips and started kissing my neck, I could feel his tongue on my skin. I took a deep breath. “Please don’t.” I begged. He turned me around, I still had my eyes closed for I knew if I see him, it would be my downfall. He pushed me against the door and he kissed me, his lips almost demanding mine, making it clear that they were his. I wanted to pull away before I lost myself but I just couldn't, my senses had been seduced and I can no longer think straight. He started ing my shirt, my body started to slightly tremble. Suddenly, a moment of clarity, I pushed him and I walked away from him.
I was breathing loudly. “You should go.” I said and buttoned my shirt.
“Why? Why are you against this?” He asked. “You said you’re not in a relationship with him and I trust that you’re telling me the truth.”
“I don’t care if you believe me or not. The only thing I care about is not falling in your traps never again.”
“I’m sorry for what happened in Paris.” He said. I felt his guiltiness through his words. “It’s just that, when I’m with you my brain doesn’t think clearly. You’ve done something to me.”
And then the question that’s been on my mind since the moment we broke up invades my thoughts. “With how many women have you been since we separated?”
“Why does that matter?” He asked.
“It matters to me since I was faithful to you. I was faithful to you until you cowardly sent me the divorce papers without having the courage to ask for it in person.” I answered with a faltering voice.
“I did not asked for a divorce. I thought you were lying, but after seeing you like this, it’s clear that’s not a lie.”
My heart started racing. “I don’t think he’s lying either.”
“Sajangnim, I’m sorry to disturb you. You’re fifteen minutes late to your 9 AM appointment.” Ari shouted while knocking on the door.
“Goodbye Mr. Kwon.” I said and walked outside of the office.
Ji Yong POV
Two months ago
“If you want me get a divorce and I’ll be completely yours.” Nana said.
“I’m not divorcing her. That’s not something that has even crossed my mind and it’s definitely something I won’t do.”
“That’s what I thought.” Nana said before leaving the apartment.
Back to the present
I drove directly to YGE. The only person I know that would do something like this is Yang Hyun Suk. I was mad… so mad that I didn’t have any clue how this would end. If Hyun Suk dared to submit the divorce papers without letting me know, I’m leaving YGE, that’s for sure.
As I entered the Lobby, I saw Young Bae. “Ji Yongie, what are you doing here?” He happily asked. I was about to pass him by when he grabbed my arm: “What is it? You look angry.”
I rolled my eyes. “Hyun Suk sent the divorce papers to Emi in my name.”
“What?” He shouted. I shushed him. “Did he said that he, did it?” Young Bae was worried.
“That’s what I’m going to find out right now.”
I opened Hyun Suk’s office without knocking, I wasn’t in the mood to be polite.
“Yah! What’s with you?” He asked, surprised. “Why do you enter without knocking?”
“Did you sent Emi the divorce papers?” I tried very hard to calm myself. He frowned and shook his head. “What are you talking about?”
“Hyung, please don’t do this. Just tell me the truth.”
“Why would I get involved in your private life? Do you think I didn’t learn my lesson after what happened between Emi and you? You know me, I don’t make the same mistake twice.”
I nodded and sighed. “That’s a relief.”
After speaking with Hyun Suk for a while, I headed home. I couldn’t think of anyone else who would do something like this. As I was parking my car, Nana called me.
“What’s up?” I answered.
“I just arrived in Seoul… What’s wrong? You sound worried.” She said.
“Someone sent Emi the divorce papers.”
“Oh! I did that.” She calmly said.
“WHAT?” I shouted.
“First, calm down, and second, I did it because I thought she would come looking for you, and you’d finally be able to talk about what happened between you both.”
“Nana! Do you know the mess you’ve created? She hates me because of it.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll tell her myself what I did.” She coolly said. “I have the papers with me. I’ll give them to you tonight when we meet.”
“Did you forge my signature?” I asked.
“Umm, see you tonight!” She exclaimed and hung up.
“Yep. She forged it.”
That night, I arrived at Meca. We’re going to meet during a private party thrown by fashion brand, 87MM.
I smiled as I saw Nana entering the party. I slightly punched her shoulder. “I don’t care what you have to do. But you’re going to help me to get out of this mess.”
“Yeah! It’s great seeing you too.” She mischievously smiled.
Minutes later, Young Bae and SeungRi arrived. Nana and I were laughing of a man who was trying and failing to seduce a girl.
“Poor him.” She said. I was laughing. She looked at me. “Flirt with me. I want to see the magic.”
I shook my head and smiled. “What?”
“Flirt with me, like if you just met me here, and you want to take me home.”
“Come on!” She laughed. “You’re such a killjoy!” She got a sip of her cocktail.
“Hey, what are you having?” I asked while getting closer to her.
“A mint julep.” She replied.
“Oh! Does that have vodka?” I asked again.
“Nope. It has bourbon.”
“You must know a lot about cocktails.”
She smiled. “I do. I think it’s a fun way to get drunk, it’s so boring to drink only the alcohol...” I was smirking. She laughed, after she realized this was a “pick-up” conversation. “You’re good!” She paused. “What would be your killer move?”
I started explaining it to her while doing it. “I would caress your cheek and tell you, you’re the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen. You would come near me and then I would grab your waist and whirl around with you.” After we stopped whirling, we were laughing while hugging each other. Nana suddenly got serious. “Let me go! Let me go!” She exclaimed while hitting my arm.
“Why?” I followed her gaze. My smile erased the moment I saw her, staring at us. I gasped. “Emi!”
