Requiem for A Dream

Description

First off, this is my first submission on this site. I literally signed up just before posting this.

Second, this fic is based entirely off of a dream I had some time ago. I'm going to post what I have thus far and see how people react before posting any more of it. Yes, I spiced it up while I was conscious, but it's still the same story. I just added more details from my whacky imagination when I failed to remember all of them properly after waking up~

Finally, the pictures that're at the top of each of the chapters has something to do either with who the main character of that chapter is, what they may be wearing, or a specific image that might actually be referenced)

Please give me your thoughts you guys! Suggestions, comments, questions, even if there's some issue with the tense or it's a little confusing at some point. Just talk to me. I won't bite! much

I won't be continuing untless if I get some feedback other than a view count.

Foreword

A normal day it was... Wait, when did I start talking like Yoda? ... It was just a normal day here in Illinois. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, and it was surprisingly quite warm out. The month was probably at the transition between March and April.

The early morning hours were just getting under way. My two siblings were already off at school. An eerie silence had settled over the house. A sense of uneasiness loomed over me as I went through my simple morning routine.

As soon as I was dressed, I found myself heading out into the backyard. I don't even know why, but I went right out the backdoor with no rhyme or reason whatsoever. My bare feet carried me directly out to the old clearing that we had always called our tree fort. Three tall trees shaded a small clearing that dad spent a few hours each summer mowing out for us.

A quick climb to my favorite perch and one singing break later, I started feeling like I was being watched. It felt like a pair of eyes was shooting lasers into the back of my head. I spun around quickly and gasped, nearly falling out of the tree as my eyes met the gaze of a pair of empty eye sockets.

Jack Skellington, a.k.a. the Pumpkin King straight out of A Nightmare Before Christmas was peering at me curiously from a nearby hilltop.

"_____ , I presume?" I require your assistance," he says after we meet at the base of the tree I had nearly fallen from.

"My assistance? With what?"

"Saving the life of one Mr. Cho Kyuhyun," he responds gravely.

My heart seems to stop. Kyuhyun was in mortal danger and Jack Skellington needed... me?
