For a few nights now, it had been empty in Jaebum and Youngjae's shared room. Jaebum found the silence eerie. He was used to hearing Youngjae breathe next to him, and used to Youngjae's knees bumping into his, and waking up to warm breath against his neck because for some reason, as soon as Youngjae fell asleep, the younger would snuggle into the closest thing next to him. Sometimes it was his blanket or pillow, but most often it was Jaebum's back. 

Now that Youngjae had replaced Jaebum's body with the living-room couch, sleeping didn't feel the same. Most nights, Jaebum lay awake, staring at his ceiling and wondering what he had done wrong. It wasn't just that Youngjae didn't want to share a room with him anymore, but outside of the bedroom, he was distant as well. He barely spoke to their leader and instead of snuggling Jaebum on the couch when they watched movies, he now sat himself down next to one of the other members, usually as far away from Jaebum as he could.
Jaebum was lost. He didn't know what to do and the tension between the two grew bigger each day. After a while, Youngjae didn't even look at the older anymore. Not in the dorms, not backstage, not even on stage. It was like Jaebum didn't exist anymore for Youngjae.
By now, Youngjae had left the couch to sleep in Yugyeom's bed, snuggled up to the younger male. Jaebum couldn't help but feel jealous, and Youngjae couldn't help but feel guilty. It was never in Youngjae's planning to fall so deeply in love with their leader. So deeply in love that he couldn't even look at the older anymore without blushing. He was scared that if he would stay close to Jaebum, someone would find out his true feelings. With distance, Youngjae decided, he would get over the older. After that, he could go back to being his friend. He could lie down next to the older without feeling the constant need to wrap his arms around Jaebum's strong body. It was hard for Youngjae to admit that he missed the warmth of Jaebum's body at night. It was nice to sleep next to Yugyeom, who was big and cuddly like some sort of teddy bear, but the feeling it gave Youngjae, wasn't the same. It didn't make his heart beat fast and it didn't make his own skin heat up like it did when his knee accidentally bumped into Jaebum's.

There was one person who had noticed the tension. Even though Youngjae had taken his distance from Jaebum, to Jackson it was quite obvious what was happening. So when Youngjae was sitting alone in the living-room after everyone had already gone to sleep, Jackson took it upon himself to come with a solution for this problem.
He wrapped his arm around the younger, his hand disappearing into his black hair and gently playing with it. Jackson took notice of how Youngjae's eyes slowly fell shut, after a while, soft snores leaving the younger's parted lips. 
Jaebum was awake enough to notice how someone laid Youngjae
