After

Description

Sequel to Fall, EverythingInstead of a single sequel it appears my muse wants several so I'll be writing a few additional scenes to show what life was like after chapter 7. This is the first.

As usual, also on Ao3.

Foreword

Yoongi sat across from his desk having a staredown with his mail. It was late afternoon and he'd just arrived to the family homeI from the academy to a virtually unchnaged house and brother. Ignoring his brother and his almost-wife entirely Yoongi went up to his room he found this, this pile of paper that hid a dream-crusher in their mids.

He bit his lip and sat firmly on his shaking hands. He was happy to be alone right now because what little illusion he had left of him being infallable would go right out the window.

The sudden ringing of his phone scared the ever-loving- out of him.

"Jesuuuus," he hissed, glaring daggers at the offending object. It continued it's buzzing, skittering around on the pale grey covers, and Yoongi relented, relasing one hand to pick it up. He smiled when he saw Seokjin's cresent eyes and wide smile looking back at him. he swiped the green phone.

"I'm alive," he answered, forgoing a proper greeting and chosing instead to carry on their earlier conversation.

"Well it would be hard to get this good reception beyond the grave..." came Jin's voice, distorted slightly, "You're on speaker-"

"Hey," Namjoon cut in and Yoongi could almost see his dimpled half smile.

"I'm not even cold in my bed yet and you're already there?"

Laughter danced over the phone lines to him. Damn if he didnt miss them.

"Have you stopped being a and checked the letter yet?" Namjoon questioned. Jin's accompanying admonishing was barely genuine.

"I'll read it when I'm good and ready." The faux-confidence sounded childishly off even to his own ears.

"It's okay Yoongi, take your time." Jin told him.

"We're not leaving till you do. So get a move on and try not to burn up all of Jin's minutes on the first day." Namjoon added. Yoongi shook his head and smiled. Idiot. My idiot.

The letter they were referring to was his acceptance (rejection) letter from Seoul Arts' School. Both he and Namjoon had applied while Jin had gone for medicine school. Namjoon had already gotten his acceptance, the young, too-talented bastard, and now it was Yoongi's turn. He was terrified.

The last few months with them had made him stronger and better and given him so much but even that wasn't enough to take away the self-doubt ingrained so deep in him he tasted it with every anxious breath. Namjoon had convinced him to apply by doing it with him and Jin had helped with his grand plan of them going to university in Seoul and living together.

They could do that anyway, Namjoon often reminded him. it wasn't like he couldn't afford to live in Seoul off his inheritance alone, it wasn't like they wouldn't take care of him if he didn't have that, it's just that he wanted this now, wanted it so much he was scared of seeing than "regret to inform you" somewhere outside of his own head.

"Yoongi!" Namjoon's low voice made Yoongi jump again.

"What?!" Yoongi snapped.

"Pick up the letter. It's time." Jin answered for him.

Yoongi sighed. Okay. May as well get it over with.

He got up slowly, shaking himself, determined now. He took the few steps needed to get to his desk and put the phone down, hitting the speakerpone icon as he did. "Okay, I'm looking for it."

And he found it, there at the very bottom of the pile, thick and white with the logo of the school emblazoned across the front. Yoongi's breath caught, he didn't want to hope but there's not much of chance a rejection letter would have this much in it. Right?

RIGHT?

"How big is it?" Jin asked. Namjoon's chuckle and quickly following hiss of pain was enough to remove the lump forming in his throat.

"It's as big as yours-"

"Don't you dare," Yoongi could tell Jin's warning wasn't for him but he sobered nontheless.

Taking a breath he ripped the envelope open and pulled out its contents.

Dear Min Yoongi... pleased to inform... fantastic addition...

"I'm in," the words came out a whisper. He'd gotten in.

"What?" Jin and Namjoon queried in unison.

"I got in!" Yoongi needed to sit down. He sunk to the floor and took the phone of speakerphone and put it to his ears to hear his boyfriends' congratulations.

"Am I ever wrong?" Jin's happiness was evident in his smooth voice and Yoongi wished he were there.

"Yes," he and Namjoon replied automatically before laughing at what Yoongi was positive was Jin's 'very offended' face.

Aww I want to see how they take care of his insecurity and stuff like that because he seems to have a lot of it. Though they've made it better obviously
