Fading Spectacles pt. 2 (fluff)

Almost half of his life, Donghyuk had been wearing glasses. He was a bit near on the blind side if he doesn’t wear them and he never opted to wear contacts either because wearing glasses was more comfortable for him.

So when he accidentally fell on top of a guy in the hallway, he immediately sat up and had to squint his eyes to see the faint image of the papers scattered on the floor. He could see the guy helping him pick up the papers, a blurry image of a person in their school uniform. The guy said it was okay and Donghyuk had to ask, looking up at the guy.

When they met eye to eye, Donghyuk didn’t know he could still figure out how handsome the guy in front of him was. He was basically blind but he could feel his cheeks burn with a faint blush by how handsome the guy is. He didn’t know that even with his blurry eyes, he could still figure out how handsome the guy is in front of him. He also put Donghyuk’s glasses on his face and Donghyuk’s cheeks formed a blush, he didn’t know if it was from the embarrassment or the fact that the guy was twice as handsome as what he saw with his blurry eyes.

Song Yunhyeong is his name, Donghyuk learned and his heart skipped a beat. He isn’t supposed to fall in love because Song Yunhyeong is one of the famous students in school and Donghyuk was this friendly nerd people would ask assignments and syllabus from but somehow Donghyuk found himself falling from then on…

“Donghyuk, I swear you have to taste this dish I made. Come on, it’s delicious plus you need to rest.” Yunhyeong said, nudging a serious Donghyuk studying by the kitchen counter. Yunhyeong had finally managed to make the younger come out of his cave - his bedroom, he has been in there for almost half the day and it was starting to worry the older. The younger had been studying for finals and while Yunhyeong was a year earlier, he managed to finish his exams early.

“Hyung, you know how I need to ace this history test.” Donghyuk whined. Yunhyeong would’ve squealed by how cute the younger is but seriously, he doesn’t really need to study that hard.

“Donghyuk, you can ace that test without even batting an eye.” Yunhyeong groaned but Donghyuk ignored him. He wanted the younger to rest but Donghyuk was being stubborn so he did what he knows would make Donghyuk stop studying - take off his glasses.

“Hey, hyung! Give it back.” Donghyuk exclaimed, reaching for his glasses. Yunhyeong had his arm up in the air and Donghyuk blames his shorter height and blurry eyes.

“I’ll give it back to you, only if you eat.” Yunhyeong said. Donghyuk glared at him and Yunhyeong gave him a look.

“Fine.” He said and Yunhyeong grabbed the plate of pasta he made, placing it in front of Donghyuk. It was only the two of them in the dorm, ever since they met and they had found out they almost had the same circle of friends, they’ve decided to all live together.

“Okay, I’m done eating. Hyung, give me my glasses.” Donghyuk said but Yunhyeong grinned at him evilly.

“Oh hyung, you need to give it back.” He said and Yunhyeong made a run out of the kitchen, laughing. Donghyuk groaned before running after him, his vision blurred and he wanted to catch up to Yunhyeong already but he’s afraid he might hurt himself.

“Hyung, come on!” He exclaimed.

“You have to reach for it first.” Yunhyeong said, holding Donghyuk’s glasses up. Donghyuk tried to reach for it but damn, was Yunhyeong always this tall? Donghyuk was walking forward while Yunhyeong was walking backwards, they kept on walking like that before Yunhyeong’s leg hit the end of the couch and he fell. Out of reflex, Donghyuk tried to get him but his blurry vision failed him. Let’s just say they ended up like how they first met, with Donghyuk on top of Yunhyeong. Donghyuk immediately grabbed his glasses and wore them, oblivious to the stare Yunhyeong was giving him.

“You know, I love your eyes.” Yunhyeong suddenly said and Donghyuk looked at him, finally realizing how close they were. He was about to stand up but their legs were tangled and it looked as if Yunhyeong wasn’t planning on letting him go. Donghyuk’s heart was pounding, they were so close he wanted to kiss Yunhyeong. He was still staring intently at him and Donghyuk wonders why.

“Hyung…”

“Have I ever told you that? You know when we first met, or rather when I first saw you, your eyes caught me… they were sparkling even if you say you can’t really see much without your glasses.” He said and he removed Donghyuk’s glasses again, Donghyuk would’ve protested but Yunhyeong’s eyes held so much emotion, he was caught up. Donghyuk released a breath he didn’t know he was holding and Yunhyeong gently placed his hands on Donghyuk’s cheeks.

“You know you don’t really have to see a person to know how much they love you. Sometimes, feeling it is enough…” He whispered before leaning in to kiss Donghyuk on the lips. Donghyuk had his hand on Yunhyeong’s shirt, gripping it tightly and his other hand on the couch for support. Yunhyeong tasted like cherries, the one you would taste on top of a cake. It was sweet and wonderful, the way Yunhyeong’s hand would slowly trail along his neck, it sends shiver down his spine. Yunhyeong suddenly pulled away, foreheads touching and he smiled,

“I love you.” He whispered, it was almost inaudible but Donghyuk was able to catch it. He smiled and leaned in to give Yunhyeong a peck on the lips,

“Why do I have a habit of falling on top of you?”

“So I could catch you everytime you do.”

“You do know that was lame right?”

“Shut up, don’t ruin the moment.” Yunhyeong said and Donghyuk laughed before leaning his head on Yunhyeong’s chest, listening to  the sound of his heartbeat.
