He told her the previous day that he was doing his work and internship at the same time. 

She managed to spend the evening by herself and she tried her luck. Apparently, it was not on her side. 

She texted him and asked how did he manage his time between work and internship. To which he replied that he worked half a week at each.

To heck with it, just send it already! 

So without any warning, she typed and sent this message, "Are u keen to meet me for dinner?" 

His reponse came almost immediately, "When?" 

"Today?" 

"Too rush.."

"Ok bye!" 

And so, that means I have to spend this valuable free time by myself, She thought. 

If he had caught her blatant hint, he would have known that she was unable to forget him. He could not forget her as well, otherwise he would not have taken the effort to send her a message via another channel. 

She saw a quote today that fuelled her courage: Even when I am awake, I am still dreaming of you. 

That explained her actions.
