Chapter VII "House of Injury"

"When you touhed me, it was so warm." ~ iKON 'Miss You So Bad'

"Yah, didn’t you pick a typical and cheesy plan for a first date?” She asked, her voice amused and a little teasing. She peered at him, he cheeks turning red as a bashful smile appeared on his face. She giggled, finding his smile charming and his timid movements very endearing.

“You agreed though, it doesn’t matter how typical and cheesy it is. Just that we will have fun and you’ll be glad to have agreed.” He spoke, his body siding swiftly across the shop as she had just finished her short shift at work.

He smoothly opened the door for her, his tall and firm body leaning on the door. He looked really charamatic and cool, he wasn’t trying hard to impress her, he was just trying to make her smile. She caved as he took a sip of his drink and raised his eyebrows quickly. It was funny and amusing, and she let out a soft chuckle before she bowed and begun to walk through the door.

“Thank you gentleman.” She spoke, the corners of drooping as the face caused him to choke on his drink. She laughed, feeling this surge of energy and felicity from the boy.

“No problem, miss.” He spoke, his smile as very flirty and matched well with his sparkling dark eyes. He walked up to her, feeling so comfortable around her that it felt like they were on their tenth date.

He didn’t know why he as so comfortable with her, the text conversations felt like they knew each other since high school. He looked at her as she kept going on and on about how Junhoe got sent home after dropping a drink and nearly breaking his neck from slipping on it.

Her smile seemed to always make him forget how stressful his classes could be. The refreshing spring breeze blew through her rich brown hair. He laughed, seeing how the breeze was almost powerful enough to pull her mint green beanie away from her face.

“I think you’re phone is ringing.” She spoke, his head snapping from this daze she caught him in. His eyebrow’s knit in confusion as he pulled out his phone from his pocket, his hands barely feeling the vibrations of the soft tune. It was barely audible for him yet she was able to hear it.

“Junhoe, hey.” He spoke, his face a bit confused as he wondered why Junhoe is calling him. His face fell softly as every word came out of Junhoe’s mouth was a jab to his felicity.

“Jungkook-ah got hurt this morning, so I brought him into the hospital. It appears that he tripped and cut his arm with a broken bottle, and he kind of out form seeing the blood. He’s fine, and its best you come pick him up.” The voice sounded very worried but comforting.

“What hospital?” He spoke, the words sounding a little too rushed and worried. Minyoung looked at him with wide eyes, her eyebrows knitting in confusion as her face was basically asking who is in the hospital.

“We’ll be right there.” Yugyeom spoke, his head nodding in response as if Junhoe could see him at that moment. He hung up and looked at Minyoung with glazed eyes that were coated with slight despair.

“What’s wrong?” She asked, her word comforting him more than they meant to. He took a deep breath and took her hand. He didn’t even think twice about it, he would have been very nervous and wrecking his entire brain with making such a move. But he didn’t think about it, and she didn’t really protest.

“Jungkook is hurt, and his guarding angel, Junhoe, saved him.” He felt bad he sounded slightly angry. He wasn’t angry, he was just so concern that Junkook keeps getting hurt as of lately.

“Are you sure I should come with you then?” She asked her voice falling a little thin and soft, as if all of a sudden she became shy. He looked at her, her eyes sparkling under the sunlight, which caused a smile to take over.

“Yeah, Junhoe is there, he said to bring you and that you should check your phone. Come on, at least I’ll get to hold your hand today.” He spoke, his confidence climbing to another level.

“Again, cheesy.” She spoke, laughter lingering in her words as she didn’t mind him pulling her softly through the crowd. His soft hand having a firm yet caring hold of hers. Her happiness didn’t last so long. The moment she had a chance to peer at her phone like Junhoe had wanted to, her entire attitude dropped.

‘Sehun and I will be in the room next to Jungkook. We need to talk to you about what really happened.’ She cleared , feeling this pulsing in her head as she didn’t want to know what really happened. She could already feel the head ache forming in her head from the situation.

“I’ll go find Junhoe first, I’ll drop by after I find him. Is that okay?” She asked, speaking for the first time in their journey to the hospital. The cold drink had already been finished and hard turned her hands red from the ice.

Yugyeom looked at her and nodded, understanding that she would be a bit more worried about talking to Junhoe. He let go of her hand as she begun to pull her phone to text Junhoe.

He felt a little odd letting go, somehow the warmth of her hand was emphasized with how cold it felt after she let go. His heart was racing but not as much as when he held it. He was crushing badly, and it was all because she can make him feel so safe and happy when everything around him could be in chaos.

Seeing him walk into the room, she waited a few more seconds before walking towards the next door room. She could already see the two blond boys slouching over the chars as they simply waited. They appeared rather scared and like deer caught in headlights when she opened the door.

“Tell me what happened?” She spoke, her voice a little shaken and worried as she walked into the white room. The smell of latex and rubbing alcohol roaming and engraved in the sheets as they stood up in a flash.

“The boy was attacked by the nocturne children, they opened up his arm pretty badly because he was refusing. We stumbled on the situation and saved him.”The blond man spoke, his defined jaw clenching slightly as the girl peered at him with dubious eyes. The two boys were trying to sell a lie, and they didn’t know if the lie will be successful in the market.

“In plain daylight?” She asked, her voice raising in pitch as confusion overtook her visage. The boy looked shocked, his face freezing for a slight moment before the other blond cleared his throat.

“Yes Minyoung, because we haven’t been here for hours already. The rescue was dragged, I was trying to get answers from the two children.” Junhoe spoke, the slight attitude turning the entire mood of the room. Junhoe hated using such tone with Minyoung, but he knew that she will buy the story with that type of advertisement.

“What did you find out? And for the record, you could have called right when you got here, not after they stitched him up. Yugyeom was really taken aback.” She spoke, her eyes darting to the wall as Yugyeom was talking to Jungkook in the next door room.

“Well, I apologize. But the two children were unclaimed, they haven’t picked a side and they knew who we were. The girl seemed to have feared us and gave up but the boy was cocky and I made the decision to kill him.” Junhoe spoke, his hands crossing over his chest as he began to twist in his chair as if everything was swell.

“The girl was very obedient so we had her erase the kid’s memory. He thinks he tripped and wounded his arm on a broken bottle of soju.” Sehun spoke, his words were slightly slurred as his senses were getting in the way. He was really attentive and bothered by Junhoe who was rotating around in his chair and found it very distracting.

“We’re sending the girl, Mina, to the house so she can pick if she wants to be a light warrior or a dark warrior. She seemed nice and only got here through a misleading dark being. Guess who sent them?” Junhoe spoke, his body loosening up as he knew they were in the clear. He could have told Minyoung about Jungkook and the oddness of his blood but he wanted to keep it to himself. He was very dubious about his thoughts and would rather keep them hidden until he was certain.

“Who and who went with her?” She spoke, her body leaning on the desk of the room as Sehun’s senses spiked up at her question.

“We’ll have to do it, the pack won’t be able to an unclaimed nocturne child. Someone would end up dead. Sky is keeping her in one place, until we’re ready to leave.” Sehun spoke, his hands crossing over his chest as his muscles buffed out slightly. His tall figure falling onto the bed as he finally is able to focus because Junhoe stopped playing with the chair.

Minyoung nodded, noting that it was in fact true. The two creatures hold such a deep rivalry. Even if they were in the same side, it was slightly tough to get along. But having the child convicted with five human murders, the pack will be angry and it won’t end pretty. Even if Sehun himself would her, they will get attacked for the simple fact that she hasn’t claimed a side and Sehun’s past.

“And it was Hanbin, he showed them the way to this world. Look Minyoung-“ Junhoe’s words were cut as Minyoung stood up abruptly and cleared .

“Never mind, I don’t want to know. I’ll go check on the boy. My date got canceled anyway, so when I get home, we’ll leave.” She spoke, her words soft and thin, it was as if she turned fragile the moment that name was spoken.

She walked out, her head held high as she didn’t want anything to do with the owner of that name. She didn’t want to know anymore, knowing he was up to no good was already enough. It was already too much information for her to know.

“You had to tell her it was Hanbin, didn’t you?” She could hear the two boys whisper as she was leaning against the baby blue toned wall. She sigh, feeling slightly guilty that she made the two feel really awkward and concern.

“I can’t hide it from her.” Junhoe’s voice was distant and filled with slight pity as Minyoung shook off the feeling and took one more step towards the next door room.

Her hand simply knocked on the door as she saw the two boys laughing turning to her. She simply smiled and was gestured to walk in. She took a deep breath, collecting her persona and confidence as she walked in with a bright smile.

“Hello, may I remind you that we don’t get paid to keep saving you.” She spoke, slight laughter trailing behind her as Jungkook cracked a bright smile. He chuckled softly as his arm stretched out before her, his entire forearm was wrapped in a bandage.

“Well, we might have to fix that if accidents keep happening.” He spoke, his heart jumping as Minyoung took his hand in hers and shook it up and down briefly. He felt warmness and safety consume him all at once and he couldn’t help but smile at such a warm feeling.

“Well, I on the other hand, need to be paid to be your babysitter.” Yugyeom spoke, his hand reaching out to shove Jungkook softly as the boy reached for his pillow and pretended to throw it. Yugyeom flinched, squealing slightly as Minyoung laughed softly at the noise.

“By the way, where have you two been? I haven’t seen you around campus or at work.” Jungkook spoke, his question causing the entire room to stiffen as he grabbed his work bag, getting ready to get out of the hospital.

“Family things, we’re going to be gone for a couple more days.” She spoke, her voice dropping softly as she didn’t know how to break it to them that she can’t stay.

“Do you want to come with us? I’m taking this kid out to a norebang.” Yugyeom spoke, his hands ruffling Jungkook’s hair as the boy giggled and shoved his hand away. He looked like a little kid playing with his big brother.

“I actually won’t be able to hang out, since our date was kind of called off, I want to accompany Junhoe to run some errands. Is that fine?” She asked, her eyes widening as a sad look over took her countenance as Yugyeom’s smile fell slightly.

“You’ll miss me singing, Junhoe isn’t the only one who has a good voice.” Jungkook spoke, his level of comfort reaching a new record as he begun to sing a few notes. It was like happiness was a drug for him, and he couldn’t get enough of it at the moment.

Minyoung smiled, knowing he was right. His voice was sweet and down to earth, it was unique and very soothing.

“Maybe some other time, is that fine with you Yugyeom-ah?” She asked, her heart feeling slightly heavy as she has to cancel on him. He nodded, looking at her and seeing his eyes glowing a little less but still sparkling.

“Its fine, I have to wrap this kid in bubble wrap so he won’t get hurt anyways. Wednesday, after class?” Yugyeom spoke, his smile somehow forming back as Minyoung chuckled at his joke.

“Hopefully, I’ll call you to confirm. Take care guys, I’ll be heading out first.” She spoke, her hands wrapping around the light bag that hung from her shoulders.

Her leave caused the room to lose its bright warmness but Jungkook still felt comfort when he looked at Yugyeom. His eyes widening as he saw the boy was trying to tone down his blushing cheeks.

“You got a date with the L.A girl and you didn’t tell me?” Jungkook asked, his words spoken in shock as Yugyeom simple nodded with a smile that stretched across his entire face.

“Because you’ve been in the clouds lately. I haven’t had a chance to tell you.” He spoke, his words a little hurt as he had felt more distant from his best friend these past few days.

Jungkook looked at Yugyeom. His skin always glowed in a healthy and radiant way. His black hair was styled up. He was definitely trying to impress, he only styles his charcoal hair messily up when he wants to leave a strong impression. His piercing’s matched his outfit, a chic and casual college boy that could pass as an idol. He really liked her, and he couldn’t believe he has been so detached that he didn’t notice.

“I’m sorry, I haven’t been feeling like myself. But do tell, I want to know everything.” Jungkook spoke, his attitude making a full shift as he placed his hands under his chin and waited like a little kid.

“We exchanged numbers at dinner last weekend.” Yugyeom spoke, his words soft and a little confident as it didn’t take much for him to begin spilling everything. “We’ve been texting all week, and I just invited her to go on a movie date.” He couldn’t help but notice a slight peachy color fogging his cheeks.

It wasn’t like a blush. Jungkook cocked his head as he tried to notice it better. It was like a peachy transparent cloud hovering on his cheeks. He shook his head, closing his eyes and feeling like his eyes were playing tricks on him again.

They wouldn't go away. There was like a cloud of color hoovering over every visage he saw. It was different for some people he noticed, some particularly were the same. He was walking down the street with Yugyeom, and it was like some of his senses. were enhanced slightly. He could hear everything a tad louder.

Like at the norebang, the music was at the level they usually place it at, but it felt like the speaker was right next to his ear. This only caused a slight head ache. But the pain died off after a few second and suddenly the noise didn’t bother him, but he couldn’t shake off this feeling.

He noticed that when people were laughing, the cloud that hoovered on their chicks was tinted like a darkish blue or purple. He wondered if he hit his head when he fell this morning, but he couldn’t remember. He couldn’t remember anything or even tripping.

“Here, the medication will make you drowsy so just go to bed.” Yugyeom spoke, setting down a bottle of pain killers and a glass of water in front of him. He felt the day go by faster than usual, he didn’t know why everything felt so odd and abnormal.

“Are you staying the night?” He asked, knowing the answer before the boy even said anything. Yugyeom would be worried to death if he didn’t stay over, but Jungkook didn’t mind that.

Falling asleep was tough, his arm both ached and itch, and the pain killers were doing nothing to subdue it. He was just lying in bed, staring at the celling as the pain was making him go a little insane. It didn’t help when he could hear Yugyeom speaking about texting Minyoung or not about their date. Whether she was still in town or when she was coming back.

He gasped, feeling his entire body freeze as his heart suddenly fell out of his chest. Yugyeom wasn’t speaking. His mind was playing tricks on him again. But his voice sound oddly vivid and confusing. He shook his head, not knowing why he was losing his sanity at such a young age. He was barely a Junior in college.

He bit his lip and shutting his eyes close, this time, he drifted into a night mare. Not the maze one he expected to have, a different one that had him begging for answers.

A boy, his skin was icy pale and his hair was as white as snow. His eyes were crystal clear and a little fogged, like cracked ice. He was in the middle of a field, his breathing raising due to the heat. There was a ring of fire around him, his hands were shaking as blood was spilling from his chest.

The black blood was trailing down his torso and arm, he was seriously wounded. He fell on his knees, groaning with pain as a snake bit down onto his shoulder. It was a charcoal black snake.

“Master Jin, are you okay?” Rushed in a girl. Her hair was a tinted in a dark crimson red color. Her eyes were a burning inferno, they looked like burning leaves in autumn.

“Minyoung, I’m fine. They caught me by surprise.” The boy spoke, the snake bite suddenly making his body surge with energy. His fist clenched as his wound healed.

“Mater Jin, can you fight?” A boy extinguished the ring of fire swiftly. It was enough for him to walk in. His hair was an aqua blue, his eyes were the spitting image of the ocean radiating in the sun.

“Junhoe, who do you think I am? Now, I’ll give you guys some cover, that nocturne child has crucial information. We can let the have her.” The boy spoke, his blood covered hand staining his white hair. The two others nodded, the snakes that seemed to coil around their bodies unwounded to sharp weapons.

The boy they referred to as master, had a crystal bird attached to his wrist. The small and delicate crystal animal released his wrist and suddenly turned in a bow and arrow. The moment the first crystal arrow was shot, there was a huge explosion.

And that’s where Jungkook fell out of his bed. Panting and wondering why Jin, Minyoung and Junhoe were in his dream.
