pictures of girls just bones
videos of damaged people
words whispering death.
You saw me in the mirror
mocking the person I've become
of curves placed on the wrong places
never looking at the reflection casted.
You saw it in my plate
the rice slowly diminishing
the meat gloriously untouched
bread being hidden on the seat.
You saw it in my room
a stash of dusty razors
laxatives on the trash bin
cigarette butts on the shoe rack.
You saw it in my body
the gap on my thigh widening
the wrists and long sleeves
dark circles sitting on my eyes.
You saw me in school
grades from A-pluses to fails
attendance perfectly empty
urgent calls from the teachers.
You saw it in my eyes
the hatred I feel for my own
the fear of a young child
in an unknown cruel world.
