Of Odd Mornings
Extra Copy PleaseMina sat fuming in her chair on a hectic Friday morning, ready to strangle anyone who dared to come near her. The deadlines were almost up, and she couldn’t think of a single idea! She ran her fingers through her newly ginger hair, contemplating on whether to ask for help or not. Ever since she was a young girl, Mina had been shy to the extreme. In preschool, her fellow toddlers often tried (and failed) to make friends with the girl. Because of he untouchable aura, Mina was only able to acquire one friend in the entire duration of her school years. That friend was Sana, but Sana couldn’t help her with her project because Sana was probably going shopping somewhere with her coworker Tzuyu, whom Sana claimed, in exact words, was “just as quirky as the ahjusshi who sells ice cream at the corner shop.” Mina didn’t even know if that was a compliment for Tzuyu, but right now she had other matters to tend to.
Just then, as if God had heard her prayers, Mina’s Prince Charming appeared before her. Well, that is if Prince Charming was actually a girl and was dancing instead of saving the damsel-in-distress. Momo had her earbuds in and was listening to an exceptionally interesting tune because her dancing was composed of shaking, light grinding, and weird hip motions. Well, Mina thinks that twerking would more aptly describe the other girl’s dancing, but she wouldn’t know at all because she’s a graceful ballerina who wouldn’t associate with the likes of shaking.
